Pelosi Rules With An Iron Fist

Pelosi’s REVENGE! Nancy plots nasty fate for “unloyal” Dems

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s return to the majority gavel in Congress was a rocky road. After losing numerous elections, Pelosi’s 2018 bid to retake the House leadership role was opposed by many Congressmen and women in the Democratic Party.
“Never Nancy” voters said it was time for a change at the top and asked for new leadership heading into this year’s session.
Despite the resistance, though, Pelosi officially retook the speaker position earlier this year.
And on Tuesday, she launched her revenge campaign.
“Pelosi exacted revenge against one of her most outspoken detractors Tuesday night, blocking Rep. Kathleen Rice from landing a seat on the high-profile House Judiciary Committee,” POLITICO reported.
Rice was seen as a shoe-in by many for the position, but Pelosi had other ideas. In an extremely tense, closed-door meeting this week, Pelosi “boxed out” Rice from the powerful committee… despite angry protests from the powerful New York delegation.
Instead, Pelosi put her own people in charge — and that’s just the beginning.

“She was boxed out and the result was cooked before we walked in the room. If you went by seniority then yes [Rice should have been put into the position],” an insider that was present claimed. “But that’s not what happened.”
“Scores being settled was first priority,” that source told the website.
For critics, the nasty political backstab was business as usual for Pelosi.
“Pelosi’s move to block Rice comes despite a promise to rebels trying to oust her this winter that she would not seek to retaliate against them,” POLITICO reported. “As part of a deal that won the Californian the last votes to claim the gavel, Pelsoi vowed not to enact revenge against the group that tried to push her out of leadership.”
Rice hasn’t been Pelosi’s only victim. Another young New York Democrat that opposed Pelosi, freshman Rep. Anthony Brindisi, faced her wrath the day before.

Brindisi was denied a position on the influential Armed Services Committee on Monday — another victim of Pelosi’s backroom deals.
And this is just the beginning.
Folks, welcome back to Washington, D.C. under Pelosi’s rule.

Will This Move Backfire On Pelosi?

Pelosi disinvites Trump from State of the Union to prevent him from making his case for a wall

Exercise your right to vote.
Since 1913 the president, at the invitation of the speaker of the House, has delivered a State of the Union Speech to Congress. It looks like that won’t be happening this year.
Citing security concerns over the government shutdown, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called off the SOTU. But Politico reports that Pelosi’s real fear is that Trump would use the address – which is always nationally televised and watched by millions, even those that don’t follow politics closely – to make his case for a border wall and that Democrat obstructionism is behind the government shutdown.
The Democrats are working hard to hold their ranks in line, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Pelosi meeting behind closed doors with the Democrat caucus in advance of a Wednesday afternoon meeting between Trump and the Democrat Problem Solvers Caucus.
While the tradition has been that the speech is given before a joint session of Congress, nothing in the Constitution requires the president to give a speech at all. Until 1913 presidents simply delivered a letter to Congress on the State of the Union.
In recent years the speeches have become long, drawn out boring affairs of Kabuki Theater with politicians from showboating by either jumping to their feet and applauding points made by the president or sitting on their thumbs with dour faces when they disagreed. The presidents have used the speeches to highlight pet policy positions for the coming year – glorified campaign speeches, if you will.
So Trump can either send a letter to Congress, or he can make the address from the White House or in any venue he chooses.
Trump is said to be preparing a response to Pelosi’s move. Pelosi – and much of the leftwing nattering class – think the Democrats have made a power play and will own Trump over the disinvite.
I’m betting Trump will end up the winner in all this. He’ll make a speech flanked by a select crowd of “Angel Moms” (who have lost their children to crimes by illegals), border agents and others, and he’ll cast the blame for the shutdown where it belongs – recalcitrant Democrats and corporatist Republicans.

Shame On Schumer And Pelosi--Where Is Their Humanity?

Chuck Schumer SILENCED by angry moms [video]

Americans are growing sick and tired of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s endless political games — and one angry group of moms stormed his office on Tuesday to demand answers from the New York Democrat.
The group of seven women were “Angel Moms.” Each one has lost a child to an illegal immigrant, and they traveled to Washington, D.C. to demand that Schumer and his political allies end the shutdown and build the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Schumer refused to come out and meet them. The group had marched over from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, where they’d demanded she also come and answer their questions.
The liberal lawmaker sent her aide to lie to the moms and claim she wasn’t available. Pelosi was hiding inside her office at the time.
The group said it was insulting that the anti-wall politicians refused to meet with them.
“It’s a slap. It’s a stab. It’s a kick in the gut and in the groin,” Sabine Durden told Fox News. Her son, Dominic, was struck and killed by an illegal alien in 2012.
“Meet me face to face! Give me five minutes,” she asked Pelosi. “I just want to, mother-to-mother, look you in the eyes and ask you if you want to feel this way.”

You can see the powerful video of the mom’s protest inside Schumer’s office here —
“It’s not a matter of if you’re going to be affected by illegal alien crime — it’s when you are going to be affected,” warned Mary Ann Mendoza.

Her son, 32-year-old police officer Brandon Mendoza, was killed when an illegal immigrant crashed into him going the wrong way, drunk, down a highway in Arizona in 2016.
“I’m tired of being insulted and re-victimized by politicians who don’t speak up for us,” Durden said about Democratic lawmakers. “They speak up for illegals, for law-breakers.”

This DOJ Report Is Bad News For The Gun Haters!

DOJ report shows just how few legally purchased guns are used to commit crimes

This might hurt the gun control narrative

A Department of Justice report shows that only seven percent of nearly 300,000 state and federal prisoners who possessed a firearm during their crime purchased the gun from a licensed firearm dealer.
The report estimates that 287,400 prisoners had a gun on them when they committed the crime for which they are imprisoned, and a majority of those prisoners either stole the gun, found it at the scene of the crime, or bought it off the street or from the underground market, according to the 2016 Survey of Prison Inmates.
About 13 percent of state and federal prisoners surveyed used a gun during their crime, and of those prisoners, only 1.3 percent obtained it from a retail source.
The survey also revealed that only 0.8 percent of prisoners who possessed a gun during their offense got the firearm from a gun show, a statistic which shows that "gun show loopholes" often decried by gun control advocates are not contributing significantly to crime.
"[The survey has] consistently show that there is no such thing as criminals exploiting a 'gun show loophole' to arm themselves for their crimes," said Lawrence G. Keane, senior vice president of government and public affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, according to Guns.com. "Perhaps lawmakers should spend less time on these 'solutions in search of a problem' and more time on fixing the background check system, or on any of the issues that voters actually rank as a priority."
Here's a breakdown of the numbers showing where state and federal prisoners who possessed a firearm during the offense for which they are serving time got their guns:
  • 10.1 percent obtained the gun by purchase or trade from a retail source. 7.5 percent from a gun store, 1.6 percent from a pawn shop, 0.4 percent from a flea market, and 0.8 percent from a gun show.
  • 25.3 percent got the gun by purchasing, renting or borrowing it from a family friend, or receiving it as a gift.
  • 43.2 percent obtained the firearm off the street or from an underground market source
The fact that about 90 percent of firearms possessed by prisoners during the commission of crimes were not purchased or traded at legal retail sources could be used to inform the debate over gun control efforts, which often target legal gun owners and purchasers by restricting the availability of guns from legal sources or by attempting to outlaw possession of certain types of guns.
Democrats quickly introduced gun control legislation after taking control of the House, submitting a bill that would require universal background checks for gun sales.
