This is a big issue yet not as expensive as one would assume. Assuming the numbers quoted in the article are accuate, a majority of large transformers could be made safe from an EMP attack for less money than was lost on Solyndra! It is time we wake our legislators to the fact that we support protecting our electrical infrastructure.
