Many have said there is no voter fraud in the system and if it is so, it is small potatoes and will not effect the outcome of the elections. We say hooey! If there is one vote that is cast by someone who is not a qualified voter or who votes fraudulently, it could turn the entire election on its head.
In the accompanying link, you will see a Representative's son give advice on how to cast a vote for which you are not qualified. If Fox News can turn up one idiot, how many others are out there that are smart enough not to talk about their crime.
The Kennedy-Nixon contest in 1960 was won by JFK based on a one vote per precinct edge. It was that razor close. Could it have gone another way had votes been fraudulently cast? Undoubtedly! (In fact, some say that Mayor Daly of Chicago fame delivered JFK the election.)
With the polls running 50/50 in this election, it would seem that someone who wanted a certain candidate to win would only have to have a few fraudulent votes cast before it made a real difference. Let's hope there are no other "sons" out there instructing others to break the law, however, we are not living in Oz!

ReplyDeleteHow does that work? The candidates would have to finish in a tie without that vote. The odds of that happening are astronomical.
Now compare that to thousands of people who don't vote because of voter suppression tactics such as photo ID, Florida law (thrown out by the courts) that made the League of Women Voters afraid to register voters, or cutting back on early voting the last 3 days before the election (also thrown out by the court), or then only allowing voting 8am to 2pm (when people can't come because they are at work), or sending in True the Vote people to intimidate voters at the polls. We NEVER had any of this CRAP in all the decades you and I have been voting in this country. If you are honest, you will admit I am right. This is a throw-back to the dark days before we had the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This doesn't have a damn thing to do with in-person voter fraud (which is virtually nonexistent). It is all about Republican legislators and governors in swing states like Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. trying to manipulate the election. At least we have the courts to stop this.
