This damning New Yorker magazine cover is worth a thousand words: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie caricatured as a small child playing in traffic on the George Washington Bridge.

Christie's cartoon character, wearing kid's britches and sneakers, is bouncing a ball across the lanes while seeming oblivious to the jam of cars and furious drivers waiting for him to cross.

The timing of the Jan. 20 magazine cover comes a day after a humble and contrite Christie chanted a mea culpa for two hours during a packed press conference on Thursday.

His likely drive for the GOP presidential ticket may be running low on gas after it was revealed that his deputy chief of staff, Bridget Anne Kelly, schemed to effectively shut down the GW Bridge in retaliation for the mayor of Fort Lee, NJ, not endorsing Christie during his gubernatorial run.

The fired former aide's now infamous email, "Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee," created four-day gridlock when lanes were shut down, causing emergency service delays and leading to thousands of people being late for work.
