Liberal Etsy Bans Redskins Items But Allows Others That Are Repugnant.

Eleven non-Redskins items that Etsy will apparently allow you to sell

 September 10 at 11:03 AM

Etsy announced this week that it was stopping sales of items bearing the Redskins logo and name. The popular online marketplace for homemade and vintage products and other “unique goods” wrote in a policy update that “sellers are welcome to continue selling items that contain the team colors and location, but items containing the name or the logo will no longer be allowed,” since “Native American groups have consistently advocated and litigated that the term ‘redskin(s)’ is disparaging and damaging to Native Americans.”
Now, as of this writing, there are still hundreds of items for sale on Etsy bearing the Redskins name and logo. But many Redskins fans were spurred to search through the site and find other items that apparently are ok to be sold on Etsy. Inspired by these fans — many of whom, improbably, claimed never to have heard of Etsy before this week — I also poked around a bit.
So here are 11 non-Redskins items that Etsy will apparently allow you to sell. And that’s not counting this one, which my editors would not even allow me  to screengrab.
