In a shocking new pattern, people who have grown up underneath the famous stars and stripes, have actually cut off their allegiance to the United States and given over to committing jihad against the country they once claimed as their own.
Shannon Conley is one such individual.
The 19-year-old girl plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization that would seek to harm the U.S.
With known ties to IS militants in Syria, Shannon (or Halima, as she calls herself) struck a deal with prosecutors that would require her to help identify others who have the same intentions she does.
Halima was a nursing aide from the town of Arvada, Colorado.
She intended to go to Syria to use her nursing skills to help the extremist fighters if they wouldn’t let her fight with them. According to the FBI who met with her several times to discourage her connection with ISIS, she said he was intent on “defending Muslims on the Muslim homeland against people who are trying to kill them.”
If that was illegal, she added, she “would rather be in prison than do nothing.”
She also intended to marry a Tunisian suitor whom had met online, which is a recruitment tactic that some of the Internet-savvy Muslims use. A promise of romance as you prepare to die for Allah.
And Halima is just the tip of the iceberg of support for IS.
There have been numerous instances where Americans have emigrated to other nations to help support the cause of radical Islam.
As The Blaze reports, “A Minnesota man recruited to fight for the Islamic State group was killed in Syria last month — five years after his highschool friend died fighting for the terror group al-Shabab in Somalia.”
A police officer from North Carolina was also arrested when he returned from the mid-east after helping arrange the kidnapping and executions of two American Journalists.
When interviewed whether he thought he was a radical, Don Morgan replied, “I would not classify myself as a radical, but by Western definition I would be classified as a radical. I just consider myself to be a practicing Muslim.”
ISIS is gunning for the U.S.
