Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is facing more questions about what she knew about the fatal terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others dead.

A memo surfaced that indicates that Clinton, then Secretary of State, knew terrorists carried out the attack and also knew the plan was to use protests regarding a controversial You Tube video as a “cover” for the attack. Clinton received the email on Sept. 12, 2012, the day after the attack, from Tyler Drumheller. Drumheller, now deceased, was then a former CIA spy who had challenged information regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. That false information was used to invade Iraq.

The memo to Clinton identified the terrorist group Ansar Al Sharia as the one carrying out the attack. The group consists of former members of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, the memo said. The memo said the attack was a threat to the newly elected General National Congress (GNC) Government.

”According to a sensitive source, el Magariaf believes that the primary goal of this and other attacks on Western facilities is to demonstrate that the GNC cannot protect its non-Islamic friends,” the memo said.

The second part of the memo states terrorists were using the protests against the YouTube video Innocence of Muslims as a justification for the attack.

“These officials do believe that the attackers having prepared to launch their assault took advantage of the cover provided by the demonstrations in Benghazi protesting an Internet production seen as disrespectful to the prophet Mohammed (sic).,” the memo said.

However, Clinton said on Sept. 13 that the film was the reason for the embassy attack, as did other members of the Obama administration.

“Some seek to justify this behavior as a response to inflammatory, despicable material posted on the Internet. As I said earlier today, the United States rejects both the content and the message of that video,” Clinton said.

The Benghazi Select Committee wanted to talk to Bryan Pagliano, a former IT specialist, over possible destroying evidence. The investigative committee sent a letter requesting Pagliano’s presence. An attorney for Pagliano sent a response back on Aug. 31 stating his client would “respectfully assert his fifth amendment right” before the committee.
