Dick Morris: Trump Is Right, Fox Is 'In the Tank for Jeb'

Donald Trump is making the right decision to no longer appear on the Fox News Channel because the cable network is pulling for his nemesis Jeb Bush, political analyst Dick Morris says.
"Let me say one thing that hasn't been said before on TV but I'm going to say it. Fox News is in the tank for Bush," Morris said Wednesday to Dennis Michael Lynch, guest host of "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"Roger Ailes, the head of Fox News, was [President George H.W.] Bush's main guy and main strategist. I first met Roger in 1988 when he and I worked together on Bush 41's campaign and worked on the negative ads that sank [Michael] Dukakis."
"The Bush family has always been intimate with Fox News and they are protecting Jeb Bush."
On Wednesday, Trump took to his Twitter account to announce that he's decided to boycott the network, because Fox has been "very negative to me in refusing to post the great polls that came out."
In another tweet, Trump said "The O'Reilly Factor" with Bill O'Reilly was "boring," chiding him for not having "some knowledgeable talking heads on our show for a change instead of the same old Trump haters."
Trump's war with Fox first erupted when he objected to the questions of the network's highly-paid news anchor Megyn Kelly, who asked him about his inflammatory comments about women right off the bat.
The GOP frontrunner on Wednesday went after Kelly again on Twitter, calling her a "lightweight."
Fox's allegiance to Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida is why Kelly purposely went after Trump in the first debate, Morris believes.
"She never would've done that if she hadn't gotten encouraged from upstairs," he said.
"That's why Trump is correct for not going on there. They are set up for Bush. As soon as conservatives around the country realize that, which they will as they listen to the biased coverage, the better."
Morris — a former top adviser to President Bill Clinton and author of "Power Grab: Obama's Dangerous Plan for a One Party Nation," written with Eileen McGann and published by Humanix — said Fox's ratings could be hurt by Trump's decision.
"Donald Trump is a camera magnet and anybody that doesn't cover Trump isn't going to get viewers and isn't going to get ratings," he said.
"Fox will have to continue to cover Trump, but what Donald is saying is that he's not going to go on Fox News as a guest, which is going to lower the ratings of O'Reilly and [Sean] Hannity and Megyn Kelly and all of those shows. They'll feel it."
