Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says he has "grave doubts" about the ability of his presidential rival Donald Trump to lead the country.

In an interview that aired Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" Bush said Trump talks about foreign policy as if he is still a reality TV star.
"He's not taking the responsibility, the possibility of being president of the United States really seriously," Bush said. "For him, it looks as though he's an actor playing a role of the candidate for president. Not boning up on the issues, not having a broad sense of the responsibilities of what it is to be a president. Across the spectrum of foreign policy, Mr. Trump talks about things as though he's still on 'The Apprentice.'"

Still, Trump remains the front-runner, a status he took from Bush shortly after announcing his candidacy in June.

Trump's plan for the Islamic State (ISIS) to remove Syrian President Bashar Assad, then having Russia take on ISIS sounds more like "some kind of board game and not a serious approach," Bush said. "This is just another example of the lack of seriousness. And this is a serious time. We're under grave threats again, and I think we need a president with a steady hand."

Bush also responded to Trump's recent suggestion that his brother, former President George W. Bush, was responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks  since they occurred during his time in office.
"I mean, so next week, Mr. Trump is probably going to say that FDR was around when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor," he said, but  "it's what you do afterward that matters."
