Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie didn’t hold back his opinion regarding President Obama on CNBC’s “Morning Joe” show.
Christie spoke about the president’s schedule visit to New Jersey, where Obama will take credit for the state’s reduction in crime. And Governor Christie didn’t mince words with what he thought about that:
“He’s going to come today to New Jersey to a place, where under my tenure, we have reduced crime by 20 percent and reduced the prison population by 10 percent. He’s going to come to New Jersey to take credit because it is one of the few places in the country that’s been happening.“He has absolutely nothing to do with it.”
Putting it plain and simple, Christie said Obama does not support law enforcement, adding that they deserve to be supported first and foremost.
Christie also commented that Obama has done nothing for criminal justice reform during his tenure as president.
“Police officers are afraid to get out of their cars because the political leaders in the country are not supporting them. I’m going to be one of those political leaders who will support the police.”
While Governor Christie isn’t our favorite Republican candidate, he is right about this. Obama has done very little to show support to law enforcement officers who risk their lives every day. In fact, one could say that the president has done almost everything in his power to work against them.
In the last several years, it’s obvious that Barack Obama is willing to take credit for all good things that happened with him as President – regardless of whether it’s true or not.
