Palin: Trump Becoming President Now 'Very Real Possibility'

Donald Trump as president of the United States is "a very real possibility," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said.
"People are really tired of professional politicians who won’t call it like they see it and maybe don’t have life experiences that allow them to prove a track record of success," the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said in an interview WBT-FM in Charlotte, N.C., on Thursday.
"That’s refreshing about Trump," she told hosts Bo Thompson and Erik Spanberg. "He’s a fighter. We know he’s gonna put America first — and he really nailed it early on what the main problems are in America right now, so it’s a very real possibility."
Palin visited Charlotte as part of a national tour promoting her new book, "Sweet Freedom: A Devotional."
She thinks Ted Cruz also has a strong shot at winning the White House next year.
"There’s also of course a possibility that people are going to recognize in, say, Ted Cruz, that he knows what he’s doing and he’s a great guy," Palin said. "He could certainly help put the country back on the right track.
"Thankfully, we have a strong, competitive primary … as opposed to the other side of the aisle.
"I think it would come down to Cruz and Trump, to tell you the truth," Palin added. "They're, thankfully, both fighters, knowing that they need to put America's safety first."
