Conservative radio host Glenn Beck got more feedback than he bargained for after making a comment about GOP front runner Donald Trump on his Friday radio show.

It was a visit to his Dallas studios by the U.S. Secret Service investigating a “threat” against Trump.

During the program Beck was discussing the 2016 presidential candidates with his producers, specifically news that the other candidates said they would back Trump if he became the party’s nominee.

Beck’s comment that he was in the shoes of Trump’s rivals drew a mocking response from producer Stu Burguiere, reported CBS.

“Was it gigantic shoes?”

It was Beck’s next response that has been construed as a threat against Trump, although Burguiere insists it was directed at himself and not at Trump.

“If I was close enough and I had a knife. Really. I mean the stabbing just wouldn’t stop,” said Beck.

It was widely reported that Beck had threatened Trump, and the story quickly spread across the Internet.

Burguiere later took to Facebook and posted, “It was reported that Glenn had threatened to stab a presidential candidate this morning which was odd since I was on the show with him and didn’t notice anything like that… Of course, if you were listening, you know that Glenn actually threatened me, not Donald Trump, so I am in the odd situation of defending my boss for threatening my life.”

In the past Beck, who has endorsed Ted Cruz, has called Trump a “bully” and a “psychopath.” WND reported during the recent Nevada caucuses, Beck responded to Trump crashing an event where he was speaking by characterizing the billionaire’s supporters as “brown shirts.”
