New York City is offering its municipal employees counseling services to help them cope with stress over President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, the New York Post reported.
According to a de Blasio administration email obtained by the Post, the city sought to highlight resources available for workers “feeling distressed or vulnerable following the election results.”
“We have seen the concerns expressed on social media, and we are monitoring them closely,” the email stated.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has also repeatedly pledged to shield the city from potential actions by the Trump administration on issues such as immigration and funding for Planned Parenthood.

Concerned NYers: Rest assured, we will use all the power of this city to protect your rights. We will stand up for you.

The Post noted that Trump received less than 20 percent of votes in the city and lost four of the city’s five boroughs, winning only Staten Island.
