Mainstream media journalist John Harwood, who covers politics for CNBC and the New York Times, took to Twitter Tuesday to list the reasons he says Democrats lost big in 2016 — and of course, one of the reasons had to do with President Barack Obama’s race.
Listing four reasons through two different tweets, Harwood explained that the fourth reason Democrats lost in 2016, and majorly in three of the last four national elections, is because Obama is black amid a culture of “white fear.”
Harwood also blamed the financial situation that Obama inherited in 2008, “accumulated angst” over income stagnation over the last 30 years, and “effective” and “unified” Republican opposition to Democrats and their progressive policies, “especially” Obamacare, Harwood noted.

Harwood was one of the journalists particularly hard hit by the WikiLeaks email scandal because it was revealed that he was in near constant communication throughout the election with Hillary Clinton’s campaign, especially Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta.
Still, Harwood did moderate one of the GOP primary debates with CNBC in October 2015 — but it did not go over well. He later boasted to Podesta that he was proud to be able to get under then-candidate Donald Trump’s skin.
The CNBC debate was, at the time, criticized by nearly all Republicans and Democrats alike.
