The South Carolina House has passed a
bill blocking Islamic sharia law from being
recognized or approved in the state, after
years of debate over similar legislation.

The legislation voted upon was explained
as “A bill to amend the code of laws of South
Carolina … so as to prevent a court or other
 enforcement authority from enforcing foreign
law including, but not limited to, Sharia Law in
this state from a forum outside of the United States or its territories under certain circumstances.”

On Thursday, the legislation passed with 68 for the bill and 42 opposed.

Sharia law is the legal and political system mandated in the Koran and other Islamic texts.
It include laws governing religious practice, such as praying and ritual washing. But sharia
also rules what Westerners see as non-government social practices — divorce, child-rearing,
free-speech, clothing or sexual behavior, for example — and it also rules government
responses to crimes, such as theft and murder.  Source: Breitbart

Will This Final Poll Indicate Who Wins The Iowa Caucuses?

Latest Des Moines Register Poll

Shows We Have New

Presidential Candidate at Top of Polls

Real estate billionaire turned Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump leads the GOP field in Iowa before voting begins on Monday, February 1, according to the final Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politicspoll unveiled Saturday evening.
Trump finishes in the top spot with 28% of support among Republicans in the Hawkeye State, followed by Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) with 23 and 15 percent, respectively.
As the Wall Street Journal pointed out, Trump now overtakes Cruz in the Iowa polling.
Trump breaches the ±4% margin of error by just one percent, but more noticeable is Rubio surpassing retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who fell to just 10%. Here are the results, via Bloomberg:
-1x-1

According to the Des Moines Register, GOP strategist Stuart Stevens said Trump could very well win the Iowa caucuses, but cautioned:
“But he has little room for error. He is almost no one’s second choice.”
Far behind the double digit-polling candidates are Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) at 5%, New Jersey governor Chris Christie at 3%.
Behind them are former governors Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee, businesswoman Carly Fiorina, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), and Ohio governor John Kasich all sitting at 2 percent.
And while Trump maintains a lead in Iowa with the final results of Iowa’s top poll before voting starts, the race will certainly be close and hard-fought.

Isn't It Time For Obama To Create Another War?

WASHINGTON – As Washington prepares to take “decisive military action” in Libya against the alarming growth of ISIS, retired generals have told G2 Bulletin they are concerned that the United States may go it alone, according to a new report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.
They ask which allies, if any, will join a coalition and attempt to work with a Libyan government that barely exists.
At a news conference last week, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. said the U.S. is “looking to take decisive military action” against ISIS in Libya and that a decision would be coming “in weeks” but “not hours.”
“It’s fair to say that we’re looking to take decisive military action against ISIS in conjunction with the political process” in Libya, Dunford said. “The president has made clear that we have the authority to use military force.”
ISIS is thought to have more than 3,000 fighters, with more flowing into Libya from Syria and Iraq, where the U.S., Russia and other countries have been carrying out intense airstrikes against the jihadist fighters.
Another ‘trillion-dollar failure’?
In October 2011, the U.S., France and Britain launched attacks that led to the overthrow of the government of Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi. Since then, the country has not had a functional government. Warring factions of local jihadist groups are preoccupied fighting among themselves for dominance rather than taking on ISIS or coming together to form a government of national accord.
U.S. action in Libya, retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney told G2Bulletin in an email, “is the last thing we need to do!”
“Why spend (a trillion dollars) for another COIN (counterinsurgency) failure?”
Retired U.S. Adm. James Lyons Jr., who served as commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet from 1985-1987, told G2Bulletin that McInerney’s concern about the possibility of unilateral U.S. action is “Spot on!”
Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely expressed similar concerns to G2Bulletin, concluding Dunford’s comments represent a military invasion by the Obama administration.
“I can’t even see Obama taking any offensive action anywhere like that,” Vallely said.
Vallely is chairman of the non-profit Stand Up America and the private Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi, which is looking into the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.
He said that if there is to be any such military action, it needs to include Egypt, which bombed ISIS locations in Libya after the February 2015 beheading of some 21 Libyan Coptic Christians who were working in the country.
Vallely also thought the Russians could join, especially if asked by Egypt, since Moscow has just concluded a $2 billion military arms deal with Cairo that includes helicopters, fighter jets, Kornet anti-tank weapons, the anti-ballistic missile system Antey-2500 and the Buk-2 surface-to-air missile system.

Is Carson Still Viable After Press Attacks

Ben Carson: Voters Should Closely Examine Trump's Record for Conservatism

By Todd Beamon   |   Friday, 29 Jan 2016 06:56 PM
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson told Newsmax TV Friday that he was pleased that front-runner Donald Trump was not at the debate in Des Moines on Thursday and that voters should fully examine his record to determine whether he is a true conservative.

"I was glad that he wasn't there — because when he is there, he becomes the center of attention and they ask him most of the questions," the retired pediatric neurosurgeon told "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview. "Though I maybe got one extra question, they still weren't very equitable with their questioning."

Rather than putting "too much emphasis on labels," voters must evaluate candidates for themselves, Carson said.

"Are you a liberal? Are you a moderate? What are you?" he asked. "What would be really better is to delve deeply into one of the least.

"Why not examine him? Say, what is your feeling about life? When does life begin? What are your feelings about marriage? What constitutes a normal relationship? What is an abnormal relationship?

"Question him on these things and see what he says," Carson said. "That would seem to be an easier thing to do."

He accused both Trump and news organizations of undermining his credibility in what Carson called "a perfect storm."

"There were a lot of attacks in the media at that time, almost simultaneously: The West Point story, the temper story, the Yale psychology class story all came out within a week of each other — and every single one of them has been debunked.

"They never come back and state that, though, of course.

"And then, you had the San Bernardino and the Paris attacks all flowed together — and a narrative was being painted that a nice person really can't deal with ISIS, can't deal with radical Islamic terrorists in an appropriate way.
"It was sort of a perfect storm, and that's something that I've had to fight back," he told Malzberg. "Most people I don't think would have survived all of that — but I'm still here, and we're fighting back and we're going to rise again."
