Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer was so shocked by what he saw among the anti-Trump protesters that he claimed they had a “whiff of ISIS” about them on Thursday night.
Krauthammer made the comments to Tucker Carlson on his Fox News show when discussing the Trump protesters in Washington D.C. outside an alt-right celebration at the National Press Club. Krauthammer pointed out one particular protester, an eight-year-old boy, that was caught by Fox News bragging about setting a fire in protest against Trump.
It tells you how completely weird the parents and the other people out there are. You know the same people who show up at the IMF meetings, the World Bank, the Occupy Wall Street – you ask them ‘why you out there,’ they’re completely incoherent. What did that woman say? There are Nazis upstairs at the National Press Club. I mean some of these people should be medicated.
Tucker agreed, adding, “The idea that you would implicate your children in your political activism, and that you’d be out in the street at 9:30 at night letting your eight-year-old set fires is demented, and it says a lot!”
“It’s got a whiff of ISIS to it,” Krauthammer concluded in an apparent reference to the terrorist group indoctrinating and training children into their extreme Islamist ideology.
Here’s the video of the eight-year-old proudly protesting that they’re referring to:

Carlson asked Krauthammer about the agenda of the protesters, but Krauthammer steered the conversation to the members of Congress who are boycotting the inauguration instead.
They really have no agenda.. but I think the real culprits here are the people who oughta be the adults, the ones who ought to set an example. And that’s the one third of Democrats in Congress who will refuse to attend, and actively boycott the inauguration. I think that is scandalous. An inuguration is not the celebration of party victory. It’s a kind of civic sacrament for something that is exceedingly rare in the world. Which is the transfer of power, uninterrupted now for 240 years. The longest anywhere on Earth. That’s something that you celebrate.

Krauthammer continued on to call Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) a hero, but explained that “heroes can be wrong” in reference to when Lewis lending his moral authority to “what is a deeply unworthy cause.” Lewis led the charge on boycotting the inauguration when he declared Trump’s presidency “illegitimate” because of Russian meddling.
Protesters clashed with police and fought with Trump supporters outside the National Press Club where a celebration organized by alt-right leaders and called the “Deploraball” was being held Thursday evening. Several people were injured in the skirmishes and police deployed tear gas in an attempt to pacify the crowd.
