Trump's Tax Return Issue Is A Non-Issue

Petition Starts As Soon As Trump Becomes President Requesting He Release Tax Returns

 Print
Less than 24 hours after President Donald Trump was inaugurated, over 127,000 liberals had already signed a White House petition demanding that he release his tax returns.
“The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution,” the petition read.
Because the petition had amassed at least 100,000 signatures, the liberals who signed it were expecting to receive a response of some sort within 30 days in accordance with White House policy.

Of course, they might not get the response they’re looking for. Trump actually honoring the petition’s request seemed unlikely. According to Fortune magazine, last week he stressed that only members of the media cared to see his returns.
Moreover, he has already relinquished control of his businesses to his two sons and reportedly transferred his assets into a fund, meaning his tax returns were largely irrelevant at this point. However, not every liberal was aware of this fact — or cared.
“In keeping with tradition and to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest, corruption, and violations of the emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution, President Trump should divest his financial and business holdings or have them administered by a truly blind trust,” another petition, this one with only about 60,000 signatures, read.

Apparently, the low-information liberals who signed this petition had not yet heard the news. Surprise, surprise.
They were likely only aware of the tidbits of rumor and gossip that they had heard via the liberal mainstream media, i.e., the same out-of-touch media that reportedly described the president’s inauguration speech as “divisive,” “dark” and “militant,” as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.
It could be assumed then that the liberals who signed the petition were just as out-of-touch as their liberal heroes.
Hint to liberals: Pay attention … but not to fake news.
