Will Hillary Clinton be the next mayor of New York City? According to various
reports, she's seriously considering making a run at it.
The latest report comes from TMZ, who spoke with an attendee of a recent
small gathering with Clinton and some key NYC political players. According
to TMZ's source, the failed presidential candidate brought up a mayorial run:
Hillary Clinton was at a small gathering recently with some politically connected people in NYC, and it seems she's noodling the idea of

running for mayor.
A source who was at the gathering last month says Hillary brought

up the topic of running and made it clear she was honestly considering

it.
We're told she was talking to people in her close circle to gauge the level of interest and support in a Clinton candidacy.
The claims by the TMZ source fall in line with other recent reports of Clinton
eyeing the prestigious mayorship. Though Team Clinton has shrugged off
the rumors publicly, reports of tension between Mayor Bill de Blasio and Clinton,
along with de Blasio's struggling poll numbers, have added fuel to the fire.
A recent Quinnipiac poll found that if Clinton ran as an Independent, she
would beat the embattled de Blasio by nearly 20 points, 49 to 30. Though no
one would fault Clinton for being skeptical of polls, that advantage is nothing
to sneeze at.
The alleged tension between the two Democrats first came to light via the
WikiLeaks email releases last year showing frustrations mounting between
de Blasio and Hillary's camp over his refusal for months to endorse her.
"De Blasio, a progressive, declined to endorse Clinton’s bid to be the
Democratic presidential nominee for months," The Hill reports. "He
finally endorsed her in October of 2015, but the chill between the two
camps persisted and de Blasio never had a prominent role as a Clinton surrogate."
So will it be "Mayor Hillary Clinton"? That might not be music to the ears
of conservatives, but it's certainly better than "President Hillary Clinton."
