Abortion Clinics Closing--This Is Great News

ISSUES

CLOSED: Planned Parenthood

 in Easton, Pennsylvania

officially closes its doors

Planned Parenthood Keystone’s Easton, Pennsylvania, location officially
closed its doors on March 31, 2017. The facility provided chemical abortions,
which account for one-third of all abortions in Pennsylvania and is one of five
Planned Parenthood Keystone locations that either closed or announced plans
 to close recently.

Planned Parenthood officials had announced the closing as part of the
organization’s plans to consolidate clinics. With 10 facilities remaining in
the Keystone branch, Melissa Reed, president and CEO of Planned
Parenthood Keystone, said women from the Easton area will now be
referred to the Allentown location, which provides surgical abortions.
Planned Parenthood’s supposed need to consolidate clinics comes after
years of support from former President Barack Obama and a steady
increase in abortions while the organization’s non-abortion services continue
to decline.
According to the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, Planned Parenthood
appears to be focused most heavily on closing facilities that do not provide
surgical abortions. The video below shows how a chemical or medical
abortion ends the life of a child:

The Easton facility was located in close proximity to two high schools,
which gave Planned Parenthood access to vulnerable teens. Sal Rizzo,
president of Pennsylvanians for Human Life Bethlehem Easton, praised the
news of the closing, saying the clinic closed thanks to the efforts of pro-lifers who prayed and peacefully protested at the clinic.
Planned Parenthood closed 27 centers in 2016, and the total number of
Planned Parenthood clinics in the United States is down by one third.
