Why Would The New York Times Even Consider Such A Ludicrous, Unintelligent, Destructive And Insulting Editorial. Have They No Standards?

The New York Times is openly calling for the United States to give Mexico
back “half its territory”—the states of California, Arizona,  New
Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.

That reason? Righting historic wrongs from the 1800s, apparently.

Leftist Mexican historian, Enrique Krauze, who wrote the Times editorial,
argues that it’s time for a lawsuit to right the “unjust loss” by nullifying the
1848 Treaty of Guadelupe-Hidalgo. That’s the treaty ended the Mexican-
American War and transferred large swaths of the American west from
 Mexico to the United States.

But, of course, like everything the liberal Left has said in the past two years:
this is really just about Donald Trump, whom Krauze accused of tearing open
the “painful wound” that is Mexican-American relations.

Krauze chastises Trump for his “many lies,” including “his attempt to contradict
history by presenting the United States as a victim of Mexico.”

In response, Krauze wants Americans to feel really, really bad about the
“enormous crime” of the “plundering of [Mexican] territory.”

Krauze believes that leftist institutions should lead the way: "Hollywood and
Broadway, which have always played an important role in shaping the
American historical consciousness, should take up the issue.” He also
thinks American universities “owe” Mexico an “honest reconsideration of
its first imperial war.”

But, at the end of his editorial, Krauze quietly admits that he doesn’t
actually want the land to be returned to Mexico, he just wants looser
immigration laws for his fellow countrymen.

His editorial abruptly ends with: “The best and most just reparation
would be American immigration reform that could open the road to
citizenship for the descendants of those Mexicans who suffered the
unjust loss of half their territory.”
