NYU Students Call Trump’s SOTU Speech Racist… Days Before He Delivers It

How racist did liberals think President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech was? It was such a racist performance that they were able to adjudge it as such seven days before he actually delivered it.
Trump’s speech, his first official State of the Union as president, doesn’t take plae until Tuesday night. However, liberal students at NYU interviewed by Campus Reform assured the camera crew that a speech the president was yet to give was irretrievably bigoted.
The interviewer baited students with questions on the premise that the speech had taken place the night before. While some were honest — “I didn’t watch it because I couldn’t bring myself to watch it,” one young woman said — others were … less so.
“Quite racist, at the very least, if not up there with most racist,” said one student — who had obviously spent hours diligently poring over every State of the Union ever given, including Franklin Pierce’s 1856 address in which he railed against “the strenuous agitation by citizens of the Northern States, in Congress and out of it, of the question of Negro emancipation in the Southern States.”
“Wow, already quickly climbing the scale,” the interviewer joked.

When another putative student was told that Trump’s immigration stance during the speech was deemed by some to be “especially hateful,” she almost immediately agreed.
“Very offensive,” she said. “It’s something that I wouldn’t have expected to happen in, like, our lifetime.”
“It is offensive, it is crazy,” another young woman opined. “But I’m not shocked by it.”

Do you think that this video reveals how liberals analyze what President Trump says?

Probably not, since you didn’t watch it. As for what she saw most people getting upset about in the speech, she said, “Probably immigration going on, with the whole DACA thing and him trying to build a wall.”
If you were willing to give these students a pass because of the fact that the interviewer gave them the impression that the speech had already taken place, consider the arrant ridiculousness of some of the things he got the students to say.
While questioning the student who called the speech “up there with most racist,” he claimed that Trump told Democrats that the wall got 10 feet higher because they didn’t stand and applaud.
“It’s the behavior of someone who refuses to accept accountability for their failures,” the young woman said, apparently taking the report of the speech as gospel.

“You shouldn’t be acting like that if you’re the leader of the country, regardless of what party you’re in,” another student said.
To top it all off, the student who found the speech “very offensive” was asked if liberals were trying to just “shut it down” because it was President Trump saying it.
“I don’t think so,” she told the interviewer. “I think there are enough progressive and intellectual people that really analyze what he’s saying.”
Just like her, right?
