Bye Bye Schneiderman, You Slug!

MUELLER JUST LOST A KEY NEW YORK ALLY AGAINST TRUMP

"Will Eric Schneiderman Take Down Trump?" Politico asked last year.
Probably not. Now that New York Attorney General Schneiderman was forced to resign after a number of women accused him of assaulting them. And that also leaves Mueller without a key New York ally.
Trump's New York centric base of operations meant that Attorney General Schneiderman had a great deal of power to investigate his businesses. That's why Mueller allegedly teamed up with him.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team is working with New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on its investigation into Paul Manafort and his financial transactions, according to several people familiar with the matter...
The two teams have shared evidence and talked frequently in recent weeks about a potential case, these people said. One of the people familiar with progress on the case said both Mueller’s and Schneiderman’s teams have collected evidence on financial crimes, including potential money laundering.
The media was quite impressed. "Robert Mueller Just Formed an Alliance That Should Terrify Trump," Vanity Fair squealed.
And, more recently, talk picked up of Schneiderman carrying on Mueller's work if the head of Team Coup gets fired. But not any more. Schneiderman is gone. And Mueller just lost a big piece of his political puzzle.
