If the Democrats win the midterm elections, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has unveiled her plans: Democrats will wage a war on the middle class from sea to shining sea.
To see what Democrats will do to America, take a look at California, which the radical left sees as a model for how to revolutionize America and turn us into a socialist country.
The Democracy Alliance, a shadowy group of megadonors founded by billionaire George Soros, let the cat out of the bag at their meeting in the Golden State last year—where they praised “California’s progressive template.”
If America becomes California, Heaven help us.
California’s cocktail of left-wing policies, sky-high taxes, and massive illegal immigration turned the state into a new banana republic… where a wealthy elite rule over a huge, poverty-riddled underclass.
Now, the results are in—and the vast majority of California residents lost out.
The overall poverty rate is 14%. That’s high enough, but that doesn’t tell the whole, sordid tale.
The cost of living in California is higher than almost anywhere else in the country. Factor that in, and California has the highest poverty level in the whole country.
One-in-five Californians aren’t making ends meet, a new national survey found.
Children in California are more likely to live in poverty than anywhere else, too.
The problem isn’t that the state has hit hard times… in fact, the rich are doing better than ever.
But the middle class can’t afford to live there anymore—and Democrat policies are to blame.
The state’s income tax is the highest in the country, at 13.3%—and no other state is even close! Even uber-progressive Washington State has no state income tax.
California has the highest sales tax in the county: 7.25%… and in some cities, you’ll pay more than 10% in sales tax on each and every single purchase!
Then there’s how much it costs to live there.
California’s extremist environmentalist laws make their citizens pay nearly twice as much for electricity as citizens in more common-sense states like Tennessee, Idaho, and Kentucky.
Their Green policies make it harder to build affordable housing, so rent costs $400 more a month in California than the national average.
Yes, “the rent is too damn high!”
But it’s not just rent—Democrats destroy everything they touch.
“Dinner and a movie for you and a guest may very well come with a $100 price tag,” USA Today explained. “In San Fran, you may pay close to 4 bucks for a regular old loaf of bread.”
A big part of the problem is the sanctuary state’s open border policies.
The state has the highest number of illegal aliens in the U.S.; between 10 and 20% of all illegals nationwide live in that state. They tend to be poorer than American citizens.
But Democrat policies attract the world’s poor to take advantage of the most generous welfare programs in the country—all at taxpayers’ expense.
A single mother with two children could collect a total of $30,828 in welfare a year.
All in all, California paid almost $1 trillion in welfare between 1992 and 2015!
Guess what California taxpayers found out? If you reward something, you get more of it.
Poor people in California are a whopping 1,100% more likely to end up on welfare than in Texas.
And California’s poverty level used to be the nation’s lowest… but now it’s the highest.
Add it all up, and California has the worst quality of life in the entire country, according to a ranking performed by U.S. News & World Report.
There’s no doubt who’s to blame: California is the most “progressive” state in the country—and Democrats have controlled every office in the state for decades: the governor, senate, and state assembly.
All their socialist policies cost money, and the middle class is paying up.
That’s why more people are leaving the state than moving into it… and the biggest chunk of people moving East are part of the middle class.
But if Democrats can do this nationwide, there’s nowhere the middle class can escape. They can force you to pay the bill for their crazy government schemes.
California’s like an enormous accordion: Democrats let their elite friends run the show in Tinseltown and the state capitol, and they channel fistful of welfare cash to the poor, legal or illegal.
And their taxes and policies squeeze the middle class to pay the bills and suffer the consequences.
They don’t get a tax shelter.
They don’t get a bailout.
They don’t get a handout.
They get the check… and if the Democrats win in November, so will you.
