What Would You Do?

What Would You Do?

You have a small fire in your kitchen so:

You call the fire chief and he says just ignore it, it will go away

You have an off-duty fireman come and he says, “use your fire extinguisher!”

A reporter hears the conversation and says “ignore him, he doesn’t know what he is talking about”—he only fights fires each day

You call the fire chief and ask him about the fire extinguisher, he says “the reporter is right, if you are exposed to the ingredients of 150 fire extinguishers, it causes heart disease”

The fire is getting bigger, so you call the fire chief and ask him to send the trucks. His response is that “we are checking out new equipment and it’s going to be a while before we can make it.”

The off-duty fireman says, “I have the answer, use your fire extinguisher!”

The police come and tell you that if you use the fire extinguisher you will go to jail and face fines

The reporter says that the police and fire department are doing the right thing and doubles down on the danger of the fire extinguisher

The fire department arrives when the house in in cinders and you are charged with pollution, endangering the environment and must pay for the cleanup or be fined, go to jail or both.

The reporter extols the fire department, police department and the charges made against you.

The off-duty fireman says—"You could have saved your house if only you had used the fire extinguisher!”

In our short story, the fire chief is Fauci, the off duty fireman are the physicians who are successfully using hydroxychloroquine, the reporter—well that is the mainstream media, and the police are the governors and their edicts to prevent the use of hydroxychloroquine.

We are being misled by the media and the governors about the use of a drug that has been used successfully for 65 years. Those brave doctors who promote the treatment are demeaned, criticized, and condemned for their pronouncements. Some are accused of “profiting” from the sale of a drug which is very cheap to purchase, so where is the profit motive. The media is doing the bidding of the large, very profitable, drug companies who see a new vaccination as a gravy train. So, who is really profiting?

This is such a massive travesty where governors who insisted that COVID patients had to be re-admitted into nursing homes (resulting in 40-50% of deaths coming from this very vulnerable group) are going scott free while doctors who are trying to save patients with “out of the box” thinking are threatened with the loss of their medical licenses for trying to stop this pandemic. Never since the Middle Ages has this thinking been so very wrong.

As a country, we are threatened with financial ruin if this farce is allowed to continue. We have not seen the damage that will occur when the facts finally emerge. We can expect 30-40% of restaurants to close, 70% of gyms, 40% of movie chains, 40% of cruise lines, 25-50% of small retail, and most regional malls to close their doors.  Additionally, the implosion of real estate caused by the failures will be in the billions. And with this collapse, one could expect the economy to crater larger than the 33% drop in the second quarter of 2020. To top all of this, unemployment will jump back up once the businesses fail to reopen.

Most of these failures could have been prevented, had government not used a sledgehammer to kill the bug. Had they used existing prophylactics, like hydroxychloroquine, isolated those sick people from vulnerable populations and used common sense rather than scare tactics we might already have gotten control of this pandemic. However, it appears as if this bug will be around for quite a bit longer as we see more states becoming re-infected.

The off-duty fireman knows how to put out a fire and so do the diligent doctors who have been in the trenches fighting the pandemic.  Isn’t it time for us to listen to them instead of political hacks and the misleading media?

It’s your choice but I vote with the docs!
