John Bolton will be making some big changes to the National Security Council, according to a recent Fox News report.
As the newly appointed national security adviser in the Trump administration, Bolton has warned NSC employees that staff changes are coming, including a flood of new people people and a structure reorganization, Fox News reported Wednesday via a Trump administration source.
Bolton reportedly told staffers in a Wednesday morning memo that these staff changes may include high-level director positions.
“The source said that while some at the National Security Council (NSC) welcome Bolton’s changes, the news will upset many White House staffers who are overworked and overwhelmed as a result of the administration’s mercurial foreign policy,” Fox reported.
“The source added that it is possible that skilled NSC staffers will leave their posts as a result of the changes, making it hard to attract other potential staffers.”
Bolton has already started making significant changes to the NSC.
Within four days of taking the position, four key national security advisers resigned or were ousted from their positions, including NSC spokesman Michael Anton, homeland security adviser Tom Bossert, as well as deputy national security advisers Ricky Waddell and Nadia Schadlow, Fox reported.

According to CNN, a senior White House official said that after speaking with Bolton, Schadlow chose to resign “to allow him to build his own NSC leadership team.”
Bolton took his position earlier this month, replacing H.R. McMaster who was tapped last year to succeed Michael Flynn after he resigned in February 2017.
A former American ambassador to the United Nations, Bolton has been a vocal supporter of the nation of Israel and has taken a tough stance on Iran, China, Russia and North Korea.
“Selecting John Bolton as national security adviser is good news for America’s allies and bad news for America’s enemies,” said Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. “He has a firm understanding of the threats we face from North Korea, Iran and radical Islam.”
Bolton also met with Defense Secretary Mattis on Wednesday, Fox reported. According to Pentagon Spokesman Dana White, it was the first of a series of regular meetings that will hopefully later include President Trump’s pick for secretary of state, Mike Pompeo.

Bravo! Italy Does The Right Thing!

Report: Italy Will File Murder Claim if UK Won’t Release Alfie for Treatment in Rome

Report: Italy Will File Murder Claim if UK Won’t Release Alfie for Treatment in Rome

On the same day that a High Court in the United Kingdom ruled 23-month-old Alfie Evans must be taken off of life support, the country of Italy did a surprising and unprecedented thing — it gave the comatose toddler citizenship.
Now, the country says it will file a murder claim against officials in the United Kingdom if Evans isn’t released to Rome for treatment.
For those of you who haven’t been following the heartbreaking saga, here are the basics: Evans has been in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, suffering from a degenerative neurological disorder which requires him to be on a ventilator.
In a move with shades of the Charlie Gard case, medical officials in the U.K.’s socialized health care system decided they wanted to pull the child’s life support without the permission of the parents, Tom Evans and Katie James.

Do you think Alfie Evans should be given a chance to be treated in Italy?

According to the U.K. Telegraph, Evans took his appeal to Pope Francis, telling the pontiff “every sick person may always be respected in their dignity and cared for in an appropriate way for their condition… and with great respect for life.”
On the same day that the High Court ruled that Evans didn’t have a case and hospital administrators could pull his life support — and with 200 angry protesters outside of the hospital — Italy announced it had made Evans a citizen.
“Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano and Interior Minister Marco Minniti have granted citizenship to little Alfie. The Italian government hopes that being Italian will allow the immediate transfer of the child to Italy,” a statement from the Foreign Affairs Ministry read.
The Italian government hopes that Alfie Evans can quickly be transferred to Bambino Gesu hospital in Rome, an institution run by the Vatican. And if the United Kingdom tries to block the move, things could get very ugly very fast.
“If you remove the ventilator from Alfie Evans, we will file a complaint against you for the murder of an Italian citizen,” a statement from the Italian Embassy in London read, according to Matteo Matzuzzi, a Rome-based journalist for Italian newspaper, Il Foglio.
As the BBC reported Monday, Alder Hey hospital “has argued that keeping him on a ventilator is not in ‘his best interests’ and any further treatment was not only ‘futile’ but also ‘unkind and inhumane.'”
The U.K. seems to have become the arbiter of who lives and who dies when it comes to young children, what with the Alfie Evans case and the Charlie Gard debacle.
While one understands there are complex bioethical issues at stake here, the fact that these children are essentially being left to die against the will of their parents should be a chilling portent of where socialized medicine is going.

When Charlie Gard died, there were plenty of people who were willing to stand up and say it was murder. None of them, however, were internationally-recognized states. Italy is, and that changes everything.
Now, the United Kingdom and the people at the NHS have to decide whether they want to end the life of a citizen of another country — and risk getting into an unprecedented international legal battle.
In the meantime, the Italians have just become heroes to people all over the world who believe that a child’s life has inherent value and that the wishes of the parents should be respected. At least there are some people left in Europe who believe in the dignity of the human being.

Gun Laws Didn't Stop This Thug--A Brave Man Did

Cowboy Eyes Punk Holding Gun on Him, Slowly Takes Off His Glasses and Goes to Work

Just because there are relatively strict gun control laws in Mexico, that doesn’t mean criminals won’t still get their hands on guns and use them to do their worst.
Thus, it was no surprise to see surveillance video emerge from a butcher shop/convenience store in Monterrey, Mexico which showed a young punk armed with a revolver attempt to hold up the store, according to Fox News.
What was surprising was the entirely nonplussed reaction the young thug received from an older man wearing a cowboy hat who was standing near the cash register, seemingly not intimidated by the armed robber.
Even as the older man had a revolver pointed his direction, he merely removed his glasses and gave the young punk a hard look.
A female customer emerged from the back of the store and started to approach the register, which drew the attention of the armed young man.
It also provided the opening the older man must have been waiting for.
Without hesitation, the man in the cowboy hat rushed the distracted gunman and knocked the revolver out of his hand. The two then wrestled to the ground, disappearing from view of the camera.
A store employee quickly retrieved the loose gun and retreated from view. Seconds later the would-be bandit — now missing his hoodie and T-shirt — made a break for the door to escape.

Do you think you would react the same way as the man who disarmed the gunman?

But as the disarmed punk made it to the door, he was clobbered by another store employee and the cowboy-hat-wearing man, who dragged him toward the back of the store while the lady at the cash register called the police, who arrived a short time later and took the young thug into custody.
According to The Washington Post, the man in the cowboy hat is Reynaldo Cardenas, who is a co-owner of the store with his son, Daniel.
The younger Cardenas explained in Spanish to The Post through Facebook messages that the armed punk had actually been spotted in the store a couple of days prior to the robbery attempt, as if he had been casing the joint in preparation.
He also said that despite his father’s incredibly calm demeanor throughout the incident, “he told me that he acted that way out of fear.”
“He really believed the man was going to shoot them. When he had the chance, he acted instinctively to disarm him,” Cardenas said.

Fear is an incredible motivator, and often goes hand-in-hand with bravery when the chips are down and trouble arrives.
This older gentleman may have been afraid for his life and the life of others, but his heroic actions undoubtedly saved the day.
Rather than cower before the gunman, he instead took decisive action and immediately leveled the playing field by knocking the gun out of the punk’s hand.
His bravery in the face of a terrifying and potentially deadly situation is truly an inspiration to us all.
