Gallup recently completed a poll which is the most damning evidence that ObamaCare is on the wrong track. 72% of all Americans and an astonishing 56% of Democrats say the mandate for coverage is unconstitutional. During the debate, the same numbers were expressed by the public, however, those who know better (Democratic legislators) told us to go mind out own business! Now that the law is partially in effect, we see the same disagreement with the program.
Now for the big question--will the Supreme Court see it the same way? Will it be a larger margin than the normal 5-4 split? Will we see an 8-1? (Justice Elana Kagan will probably vote for the program regardless of who else votes with her as she was instrumental as the President's lawyer (Solicitor General) to push the law through Congress).
It is obvious to us that the public understands the damage this mandate will cause. If the Supreme Court decrees that this law is legal, where will it take us? Will we be mandated to buy a certain car, a certain soap, or any other product the Administration deems to be in our best interests? That our friends, is not freedom!
We still believe in the United States and its superior governmental system, however, this election and as far as this article goes, this decision is pivotal. Should the decision go against the public, we will never recover from it as it will open the floodgates of governmental mandates and requirements. Let's pray that does not happen.
