Nancy Pelosi mocks bipartisan meeting on immigration for having only white men

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) mocked the efforts Thursday to reach an immigration deal because it was composed of five white men.
Here’s the video of her mocking comments:
Here’s what she said:
“I would say that McCarthy and the four, the five white guys I call them, you know,” she said, referring to Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and four others involved in immigration negotiations.
“Are they gonna open up a hamburger stand next, or what?” she joked to laughter from the news conference.
“That could have been four months ago. The very idea that this week they’re saying, ‘Oh, why don’t we get four white guys and General Kelly to come and do this,'” she added.
“You have to understand that in our caucus, we are blessed with great diversity,” she explained. “Understanding of the issues, the ability to translate policy into the lives of people, the sensitivity even on the wording is really important for people who have been engaged in the issues, to be there at the table.”
Here’s who she was referring to:
The “five white guys” as she called them, were Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas), Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), and White House chief of staff John Kelly.
Even the Democrat white male was offended
Hoyer, one of the Democrat white males Pelosi referred to, objected to her comment in a statement released afterward. “That comment is offensive. I am committed to ensuring ‘Dreamers’ are protected and I will welcome everyone to the table who wants to get this done,” he said.
