Jail records show Florida shooter is showered with fan mail (goosebumps!)

Groupies across the country have been showering the Florida school shooter Nikolas Cruz with fan mail, a new report claims.
The Sun Sentinel reports that teenage girls, and even older men have been sending Cruz provocative photographs and love letters with smiley faces on them.
In a March 15 letter sent to Cruz from a 18-year-old in Texas, the woman professed her love for the gunman and drew hearts around the card.

“When I saw your picture on the television, something attracted me to you,” the letter said. “Your eyes are beautiful and the freckles on your face make you so handsome.”
The Texas woman’s message continued with “I’m really skinny and have 34C sized breasts.”
“The attraction of women to prison bad boys echoes the fascination with killers like notorious cult leader Charles Manson,” reports The Sun Sentinel.

Another Texas woman sent Cruz a handwritten letter in blue script, and mailed it to the jail’s Post Office Box. She mailed the letter only 6 days after Cruz murdered 17 students and staff at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14.
“I reserve the right to care about you, Nikolas!” read the woman’s letter.
A woman from Chicago sent Cruz nine suggestive photos with cleavage, a bikini, and another with her backside as she bent over.
The Sun Sentinel reports, “Not all of the letters are from women. One card with a cat on the front is from an New York man sporting a bushy, gray, mustache. He enclosed photos of himself behind the wheel of his white, 1992 Nissan convertible.”

“There’s piles of letters,” said Broward County Public Defender Howard Finkelstein, whose office is representing Cruz. “In my 40 years as public defender, I’ve never seen this many letters to a defendant. Everyone now and then gets a few, but nothing like this.”
Cruz has not seen any of the letters sent to him because he is on suicide watch.
Prior to any inmates seeing their mail, the jail opens it to make sure it is safe and there is no security threat.
“The letters shake me up because they are written by regular, everyday teenage girls from across the nation,” said Finkelstein. “That scares me. It’s perverted.”
