Trump: NBC's Chuck Todd Should Be Fired Over Misleading Edit of Barr Clip

President Donald Trump wants NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd to be fired over an edited clip of an interview with Attorney General William Barr.
Trump slammed Todd and the network on Twitter Sunday night for cutting a clip of statements Barr made about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn short.
“Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd should be FIRED by 'Concast' (NBC) for this fraud,” Trump tweeted. "He knew exactly what he was doing. Public Airwaves = Fake News!"
Trump tagged the Twitter handles for the Federal Communications Commission and its chairman, Ajit Pai, at the end of the message.
Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the DOJ Kerri Kupec called attention to the remarks being cut off on Twitter, The Hill reports.
Kupec said she was “very disappointed by the deceptive editing/commentary” by Todd. Kupec included a full transcript of the interview showing what statement was cut short.
In the full transcript, Todd asks Barr, “In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to – to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision making?”
Barr responds, “Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who’s writing the history. But I think a fair history would say that it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice and it undid what was an injustice."
The segment of the quote that aired stopped after the first sentence and eliminated Barr's additional commentary.
Meet the Press responded to Kupec's tweet with an apology for "inadvertently and inaccurately” cutting the clip short.
"You’re correct," the program responded to Kupec on Twitter. "Earlier today, we inadvertently and inaccurately cut short a video clip of an interview with AG Barr before offering commentary and analysis. The remaining clip included important remarks from the attorney general that we missed, and we regret the error."
