MAY 30--As if Tiger Woods’s droopy-eyed booking photo was not embarrassing enough, Florida police videotaped the golf star as he stumbled through sobriety tests following his arrest early yesterday for

driving under the influence.

A Jupiter Police Department report notes that the 41-year-old athlete was asleep at the wheel of a running black Mercedes when a patrolman discovered him stopped in the roadway around 2 AM Monday.

Woods, cops noted, had “extremely slow and slurred speech” and “did not know where he was.” Woods was arrested after failing a series of field sobriety tests. When told that he would have to recite the alphabet backward, Woods confirmed that he understood the directions, saying, “Yes, recite the entire national anthem backwards.”

A supplemental report indicates that the field tests were recorded by a police dash cam.

Two breath tests recorded Woods’s blood alcohol content at .000, indicating that he was likely incapacitated due to his ingestion of narcotics. Woods told police that he takes the painkiller Vicodin and other medicines. He also reported having multiple surgeries on his left knee and achilles.

After being transported to the Jupiter Police Department, Woods was videotaped by officers as he was observed in the DUI testing facility. The 12-minute video shows the lethargic Woods slurring his words and “unable to walk alone.”

While the video of a bumbling Woods has not been released by police, it is likely that the recording will become public due to the state’s expansive open records laws.

In a statement yesterday, Woods said that he had an "unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.” (4 pages)

Tiger Woods has issued a public statement roughly 15 hours after being arrested for DUI in Jupiter, Florida. Woods indicated in his statement that alcohol was not involved, and that his condition resulted from “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.”

Here is Woods’ statement:

“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods wrote in his statement. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.” Woods apologized to his fans and pledged to “do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.” Woods closed his statement by thanking the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office.

Woods is currently recovering from surgery that will keep him sidelined through at least the summer.

Tiger Woods was arrested on Monday in Jupiter, Florida on a charge of drunk driving, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Arrest information shows the 41-year-old golfer was booked into jail at 7:18am and then released on his own recognizance at 10:50am.

He faces a charge of driving with a blood alcohol level above Florida's legal limit of .08.

This is the second time that Woods has been caught drinking and driving.

Two days after the National Enquirer broke the story that Woods had been cheating on his then-wife Elin Nordegren with a New York City club nightclub manager in 2009, Woods left home and crashed his Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant, a tree and several hedges.

However, he wasn't charged in that incident.

Following that incident, several other women came forward, saying they too had affairs with the pro golfer.

A month later, he entered a 45-day therapy program and apologized for his actions, saying 'I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to'.

Woods and Nordegren divorced a little less than a year later, in August 2010.

Since then, Woods' career has been in a free fall as he's failed to remain a major competitor and advertisers have stopped sponsoring him.

Woods has missed all the major tournaments for the past two years thanks to a back injury.

But he had fusion surgery to address the issue in April and said last week that he hasn't 'felt this good in years'.

'I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again,' Woods said in a statement on his website on Wednesday.

'Presently, I'm not looking ahead. I can't twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.'

An Indianapolis woman strongly suspected of residing
in the country illegally has been accused of driving
intoxicated and causing an automobile accident that
claimed the life of a Noblesville man this week, WTHR reports.

The victim, Dave Kriehn, age 66, was a former missionary.

Kriehn was returning home early Tuesday morning
from a long night of doing inventory at the restaurant
he managed, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, when the
suspect drove her vehicle into the rear of his, causing
his vehicle to roll over several times and killing him.

The suspect, Elizabeth Vargas-Hernandez, never even
held a driver’s license, according to WXIN.

His family was grieved, and his coworkers were saddened
by the loss.

“Dave was a gentle, caring man,” Harry Straut told
WTHR. “A good person. The guy you liked to hang out
with as well as work with.”

“Dave was an inspirational leader,” Straut continued.
“He spent much of his life before entering the restaurant
industry being a missionary.”

Meanwhile, viewers on the internet are appalled not only
by the loss of a man taken too soon from his family, but
by the fact that a woman who was apparently an illegal
immigrant not only was able to enter and reside in the
United States but that she was then able to do serious
harm to her community — like the man who killed Kate
Steinle in San Francisco in 2015.

Hopefully, with the Trump administration, we will see
the rule of law return to this country.
