As Trump Gets Stronger, Leftist Media Becomes More Outlandish--And Dangerous!

Matt Drudge Goes Off on ‘Stunning’ Anti-Trump New Yorker Cover

 Print
Matt Drudge is something of a political legend. The fedora-wearing journalist behind “The Drudge Report” was one of the earliest figures to recognize the potential of the Internet to change how people get news and information.
His ability to see political trends became almost mythical when he almost single-handedly broke the Monica Lewinski story, and nearly every major conservative news site can trace its roots to the online groundwork that “The Drudge Report” laid years ago.
Drudge’s status as a rogue reporter has been made all the more fabled due to his eccentricity. He’s famously reclusive. In an age when even the president is addicted to social media, he almost never uses Twitter.
He follows nobody on that platform yet has over half a million followers, and has eschewed interviews despite being one of the great self-made success stories of our time.
And one particularly odd aspect of his Twitter use is described in a profile published in 2017 by the U.K.-based publication The Week: “When he does tweet, the message stays up for just 24 hours before vanishing.”

All of which is another way of saying that when Drudge takes to Twitter, however fleetingly, the Twitterverse notices.
On Thursday, his usually-quiet Twitter account received serious attention after he posted one sentence, accompanied by a photo the latest cover from “The New Yorker.” The tweet, naturally, has been deleted, but not before it was captured for posterity.
A New Yorker magazine cover showing a fallen Donald Trump. Drudge's caption reads: "The left's continuing fetish for Trump's physical harm/death is stunning."
A screen capture of a Matt Drudge tweet that is no longer available on his Twitter account.
“The Left’s continued fetish for Trump’s physical harm/death is stunning…” Drudge wrote.

Do you think this magazine cover was purposely meant to hint at violence?

One look at the magazine cover he was talking about made it clear what he meant. The magazine portrayed Donald Trump falling down the steps of an escalator — presumably a callback to his New York campaign announcement — and landing forcefully on his head.
Readers would be forgiven for needing a second glance to realize that the trail of red coming from under the president’s head wasn’t blood, but actually his tie. We’ll leave the question of whether this was intentional up to you.
And even though Drudge’s tweet itself is no longer active, that doesn’t mean he didn’t strike a chord.
Other twitter users didn’t have much use for the New Yorker either — or its cover.

Even though he deleted the post, Drudge’s point was clear. For all the talk about “going high” and “being tolerant,” a shocking number of liberals seem obsessed with imagining Trump dead or at least gravely injured.
The strongest example, of course, is Kathy Griffin and her now-infamous “beheading” photo shoot, which involved her posing with a fake bloodied head of the president.
More recently, a liberal-owned art gallery in Oregon received media attention for depicting the president having his throat violently sliced.
“In the street-facing window, the gallery had put up an extremely graphic ‘ISIS-style’ illustration of President Trump getting his throat slashed in an apparent beheading, while also wearing a tiny burning American flag pin for good measure,” we reported.
“The uncensored image, which is too disturbing to even show, was accompanied by the emboldened words “F— Trump” and was merely a preview for the equally upsetting art on the other side of the window,” our report on the disturbing art gallery continued.
This is a far cry from the calls for “civility” that leftists such as Michelle Obama have halfheartedly raised.
Now, it is possible that the New Yorker cover wasn’t intended to be particularly violent, even though it can certainly be interpreted that way. With that said, it’s hard to deny that political discourse has become dramatically more crass … and a fair share of this is coming from the left.
Matt Drudge made a fortune by being able to see political clues and major trends early, and then making them accessible to everyday Americans.
If he’s again right this time, the violent rhetoric could get much worse before it finally gets better.

Kathy Griffin Blows It Again

Kathy Griffin Drops Racial Rant, Says Black Man Who Didn’t Attack Trump Is a ‘P******’

Kathy Griffin Now Openly Racist, Says Black Men Who Don't Attack Trump Are P******
Inasmuch as any individual can be rehabilitated from holding up the bloodied, effigial head of the president, I think Kathy Griffin may be going about it the wrong way.

Inasmuch as any individual can be rehabilitated from holding up the bloodied, effigial head of the president, I think Kathy Griffin may be going about it the wrong way.
Here’s a quick recap. First there was the “sorry, but can’t you guys take a joke?” initial apology. Then there was the tearful, inchoate press conference. Then she began the “Laugh Your Head Off” tour (I’m assuming the only offensive thing wasn’t the name, although it was probably the funniest and most knowing).
As that tour neared the end of its first leg, Griffin posted a morose video of herself complaining that she was the victim of a Hollywood “blacklist,” all from the confines of what looked like an exceedingly expensive hotel.
Later, during an appearance on “The View,” she retracted her apology to the president and his family (this is not an uncommon feature of such Trump-related amendes honorable). And now, she’s back at full bore, telling a black comedian who won’t go after the president that he’s a “p—-.”
“I do feel like this is such an anxiety-ridden time for everyone that there is a thirst for all kinds of comedy,” Griffin said in an interview with USA Today.

“And look, if you want to not hear about Trump at all, go see Kevin Hart. He doesn’t even mention Trump. I personally think that’s a p—- move because he’s a black man. But I guess he’s selling more tickets than I ever will.”
Listen up, black comedians. A white woman is about to tell you what every comedian of color should be doing with their routines, which is clearly not at all racist.
You listen and you listen good, lest you be labeled cowardly by a woman.
While USA Today didn’t print the expletive, the newspaper confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that was the word that Griffin used.

Do you think Kathy Griffin’s remark was racist?

As for why Griffin may have gone after Hart, he seemed to take a mild shot at her last year as the controversy unfolded.
“You’re just looking at comics being comics. We always take risks, but sometimes it can be distasteful,” Hart said during an appearance on “The View.”
During the interview, Griffin also seemed to imply the fake beheading put her in the company of people like Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.
“One of the things that’s great about being a comedian is you really do get to be a whistle-blower. I like to do it through comedy,” Griffin said.
“People love to hear these stories, so I’m not going to walk away from it.”

A “whistle-blower?” What you do is stand on stage for 90 minutes and bravely repeat to the audience their prejudices in a humorous form. I’m genuinely curious how that counts as whistle-blowing.
Of course, I’m genuinely curious how Griffin more or less has some semblance of a career back roughly a year after she seemed to incite the beheading of the president. Perhaps that was an example of whistle-blowing?
Well, whatever. If the assassination of the president wasn’t enough to sustain the media’s attention, perhaps her racist patronization of African-American comics will be.

Has Kathy Griffin Really Gone Unhinged?

Kathy Griffin Launches Vile Attack on Ivanka over Kate Spade’s Suicide

 Print
It’s getting clearer just who the crazy one here really is.
Washed-up “entertainer” Kathy Griffin is best known to the American public for the incredibly distasteful picture she posted of herself last year holding a mock severed headrepresenting President Donald Trump
She has also insinuated the president’s sons are rapists, and supported Canadian comedian Samantha Bee’s vile insult of Ivanka Trump while chatting with the harpies on ABC’s “The View.”
But Griffin’s own attack on Ivanka this week – in response to the first daughter’s thoughtful Twitter post on the suicide of fashion designer Kate Spade — was beyond the bounds of rational behavior. Even for a nut job like Griffin, it was way too far.
Spade was found dead Tuesday morning in her Manhattan apartment, according to CNN. A suicide note was found at the scene, but its contents were not made public.

Any suicide is tragic, of course, but Spade’s was particularly noteworthy. Starting out as a journalist in the fashion world, she had made an international name for herself by founding a hugely popular fashion line that centered on women’s handbags but included a range of fashion products, according to Biography.com.
As word of the death spread, Ivanka Trump – who has built her own brand of success in the fashion world — took to Twitter to express her sadness, and urge any readers who might be in danger of harming themselves to seek help.
“Kate Spade’s tragic passing is a painful reminder that we never truly know another’s pain or the burden they carry,” she wrote. “If you are struggling with depression and contemplating suicide, please, please seek help.”
That’s about as unobjectionable a tweet as has even been posted. But for a borderline-lunatic like Griffin, it was a red flag to charge.
Using the word “feckless” no doubt to bring to mind Bee’s vicious words last week, Griffin slammed Ivanka for … apparently just for being Ivanka.
“You’re all talk feckless, you’re all talk,” Griffin wrote.
In another tweet she expanded on that: “If someone is feckless does that mean they have no feck? So when it comes to Ivanka can I say she’s all talk and no feck?”

Were you touched by Ivanka's tweet?

Now, a cynic might suggest Griffin was simply using the untimely death of a successful woman to grow her own social media following. (The same kind of cynic might suspect Griffin wore an outfit of Spade designs Tuesday night while accepting an award in Los Angeles just to get her name mentioned in stories that would show up under “Kate Spade” internet searches.)

But other than using a tragic death as an opportunity to exercise some mean-girl bullying muscles, and opportunistically try to boost her own sagging career, it was difficult to understand what Griffin might have been talking about.
The U.K. Daily Mail speculated that she was referring to President Donald Trump’s 2019 budget proposal, which would “slash funding for the National Institute of Mental Health by 30 percent.”
Griffin is clearly not someone playing with a full deck, so it’s understandable that she would be sensitive to mental health issues. But even with that, the idea of attacking Ivanka doesn’t make sense.
Presidents don’t pass budgets, Congress does. If Griffin has a problem with federal spending when it comes to mental health, she can take it up with her local representative (assuming she knows who that is) or she can take it up with Congress as a whole.
In any case, lashing out at Ivanka Trump for apparently heartfelt advice to those suffering from depression is simply unhinged.
Maybe Griffin’s the one who should be seeking help. Before it’s too late.
