Greek Tragedy Or Just Rewards?

The Rise, Fall and Crushing Defeat of Stormy Daniels and Her Lawyer

Porn star Stormy Daniels and her lawyer Michael Avenatti dominated the gossip columns and fake news media with titillating headlines about an illicit affair with the president. But in the big scheme of things, their rise to prominence lasted about a minute. After being roundly defeated in court by President Donald Trump and his team of lawyers, the fall of Stormy and her recently arrested attorney plays like a Greek tragedy.
In a good Greek tragedy, people bring about their own demise by a particular character flaw. Even a casual observer could see that the B-list porn actress and her lawyer were motivated by greed.
According to reports, before taking on her stage name, Stephanie Gregory grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she worked answering phones at a stable before trying her skills as a 17-year-old stripper. Believe it or not, Gregory — who later took an ex-husband’s last name of Clifford — had aspirations of becoming a journalist after graduating from the Scotlandville Magnet High School in 1997. But the lure of easy money apparently drew her to the Gold Club, where she dropped her clothes and made contacts in the adult film industry. By 2002, Stormy was fully immersed in taking cash for sex in porn movies.
In 2006, Stormy had some contact with then-business mogul Donald Trump. The details may never be known due to a non-disclosure agreement she signed before the 2016 election. But what is well known is that Stormy had her hand out for a payoff as the election neared. Even with Trump trailing in the national polls, the president’s long-time fixer Michael Cohen doled out $130,000 in hush money.
The deal is widely viewed as a dirty payoff to a cheap harlot. But after Trump won the election, greed got the best of Stormy Daniels. She wanted more money and hired now disgraced attorney Avenatti.
When it was all said and done, the pair were crushed in court. The case was thrown out. Stormy was ordered to pay President Trump nearly $300,000 in legal fees, and she may have to pay Cohen back the original $130,000 as well.
“The court’s order, along with the court’s prior order dismissing Stormy Daniels’ defamation case against the president, together constitute a total victory for the president, and a total defeat for Stormy Daniels in this case,” President Trump’s attorney Charles Harder said.
Avenatti later dumped Stormy on Twitter. Ouch!
But that is only half the tragedy. Things have gone far worse for Avenatti since tweeting the President of the United States to “buckle up, buttercup” and being a star guest on CNN nearly 60 times in two months during the height of the scandal. In fact, Avenatti garnered such popularity among liberal outlets that he publicly announced he might run for the president.
But the biased media’s love affair with the porn lawyer who wanted to be president was nothing if not short-lived. A California judge slapped him with a fine of nearly $5 million, upwards of $10 million in money owed to a former associate and others who sued him for unpaid debts and “fraud.” Reports also indicate he may owe the IRS back taxes. And, right on the heels of those defeats, a property owner evicted Avenatti from his Orange County offices. These days, Avenatti may wish that’s all that went sideways.
The seemingly unscrupulous lawyer reared his ugly head during the Brett Kavanaugh U.S. Supreme Court hearings claiming to have damaging sexual misconduct allegations. Claiming to represent an alleged victim, Avenatti upped his media exposure. However, the so-called client — Julie Swetnick — denied the lawyer’s publicity stunt.
“She stated she was clear and consistent ‘from day one’ with Mr. Avenatti that those claims were not true. And she said Mr. Avenatti ‘twisted (her) words.’ When reporters pressed him on these discrepancies, Mr. Avenatti attempted to deceive them in an apparent effort to thwart the truth coming out,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley reportedly stated. “The law prohibits such false statements to Congress and obstruction of congressional committee investigations.”
Rather than emerge as a leader of the resistance to bring down Pres. Trump’s SCOTUS nominee, Avenatti was referred to the Justice Department for criminal investigation. And the epic fall ends with justice.
Michael Avenatti was recently arrested and charged with trying to extort Nike to the tune of $20 million. He reportedly threatened the sportswear company over inappropriate interactions with high school athletes. Prosecutors from the Southern District of New York formerly charged the disgraced lawyer and another co-conspirator before releasing him on $300,000 bail bond.
“A suit and tie does not mask that fact that, at its core, this was an old-fashioned shakedown,” U.S. attorney Geoffrey Berman said.
Apparently, running for president is no longer on the table.

She Is Nothing More Than A Porn Queen!

Stormy Daniels arrested in Ohio

Porn actress Stormy Daniels was arrested at an Ohio strip club on Wednesday and is accused of inappropriate groping of some of the patrons’ breasts and allowing others to touch hers, a violation of state law.
Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, has been released on bond. The charging documents allege she performed the same act with several officers who approached the stage and forced one officer’s head into her bare chest and fondled another officers breasts.
Daniels is set to be arraigned Friday on three misdemeanor counts of touching a patron at a “sexually oriented” business in violation of an Ohio strip club law.
Daniels’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, says she will plead not guilty to all counts. Some patrons touched her in a “non-sexual” way, her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told The Associated Press.
An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act prohibits anyone who isn’t a family member to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer. Daniels is expected to face three misdemeanor charges. She was released on bail before 6 a.m. Thursday.
“Police officers at the club said that while dancing topless, Ms. Clifford pressed patrons’ faces into her chest and fondled the breasts of some women in the audience, according to an affidavit filed by the police,” The New York Times reported. “She performed similar acts on three officers, and grabbed one by the buttocks, the affidavit said.”
“This was a complete set up,” Avenatti said. “It’s absurd that law enforcement resources are being spent to conduct a sting operation related to customers touching performers in a strip club in a non-sexual manner.”
He also posted Daniels’ statement on Twitter early Thursday saying she apologized to her fans in Columbus, but she would not perform her previously scheduled Thursday night show.
A Columbus police spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
Daniels has been in headlines for the past year, using an unverified story that she had relationsx with President Donald Trump in 2006. Trump has denied the accusation.
She’s suing Trump and his former longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, and seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement that she signed days before the 2016 presidential election.

The self-proclaimed woman's rights lawyer, Michael Avenatti who represents Stormy Daniels' has come under fire as of late. The latest accusation comes from his current wife, who is in the process of divorcing him.

Apparently, he has been neglecting the proceedings while spending a vast amount of the marital assets. She contacted Fox News to air her grievances.

According to Fox News:
Lawyer Michael Avenatti is too busy defending porn star Stormy Daniels to attend to important business involving his own wife - who desperately wants a divorce, she told Fox News.

The ubiquitous attorney, who has become CNN's favorite prime time guest, represents the porn queen, who claims she had a 2006 fling with President Trump and believes Trump is defaming her by denying it. But while he is basking in the limelight, his wife says their divorce proceedings have stalled.

“I need to be divorced and if [Michael Avenatti] continues to paint the narrative, he can ignore our case!” Lisa Storie-Avenatti wrote in a text message from their home in Newport Beach, Calif. Storie did not explain what she meant by “the narrative” and how exactly Avenatti was ignoring the divorce.

Storie married Avenatti in 2011. Just months before he started pursuing the legal challenge against Trump, he filed for divorce. Court records claim Storie kicked him out of the house and changed the locks.
Mr. Avenatti's current wife is the founder of a swimwear company and has been disputing media reports contradicting the actual facts.

Mr. Avenatti has been facing tough scrutiny lately, including the claim that he discriminatorily fired a pregnant manager at one of his companies.

The Weird Avenatti Story Gets More Strange

Dirty: Avenatti Tied to Major Clinton Donor and Professor Linked to Russia Dossier

Dirty: Avenatti Tied to Major Clinton Donor and Professor Linked to Russia Dossier

Michael Avenatti is either telling a very salacious tale or is a very connected man, because he seems to appear on cable news about as often as I eat meals.
I’m going to assume it’s probably some confluence between the two, since Stormy Daniels’ lawyer has been a ubiquitous presence on television since early this year.
But it appears as if Avenatti’s connections don’t stop with the media. They go well beyond that, and they tie him to a major Clinton Foundation donor and one of the professors that the Trump dossier hinges upon.
While rich and connected people tend to also know other rich and connected people, this isn’t just guilt by association. There’s currently a great deal of speculation about where Avenatti got the money to represent Daniels — and while he claims he got it from crowdfunding and Daniels herself, there’s a fair amount of doubt regarding this.
Avenatti, 47, is known to be an avid sports car racer, even having raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015. One of his co-drivers in that event was none other than Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud, a member of the Saudi royal family:
And Al Saud is not just any member of the royal family. He is the son of Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud, who led Saudi Arabia’s intelligence at the time of the 9/11 attacks.
Turki also a big fan of the Clinton Foundation, as foreign eminences tended to be before Nov. 8, 2016.

Should the media do a better job of exploring Michael Avenatti's background?

“Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former ambassador to the U.S. and member of the Saudi royal family who has attended annual meetings of the Clinton Global Initiative, made donations in 2013 and 2014, though exact dates aren’t available,” the Wall Street Journal reported in 2015.
The Journal also reported that Turki had met Bill Clinton when both were studying at Georgetown. At the time of the article, Turki’s staff declined to comment on the donations or his relationship with either Clinton.
We also now know that Clinton’s campaign had paid for Fusion GPS to assemble the Trump dossier. Part of the dossier focused on Joseph Mifsud, a mysterious Maltese professor who allegedly has links to the Kremlin and told former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos about “dirt” Russia may have on Hillary Clinton.
A relatively flamboyant figure during his time in academia (particularly given a dearth of intelligent work on his part), Mifsud has gone into hiding since the Trump dossier was released. During a long and sketchy academic career, the BBC reports that one of Mifsud’s jobs was in Riyadh, where he was under a Saudi think-tank led by none other than Prince Turki al Faisal.

This doesn’t necessarily link Avenatti directly to the Clinton Foundation nor does it link the Clinton Foundation to Mifsud’s participation in the Trump dossier. But it raises serious questions about when Avenatti was the recipient of an awful lot of data that your average lawyer wouldn’t know.
In a piece for The Hill last week, Op-Ed contributor Mark Penn questioned just how Avenatti had come across the “detailed financial information” to file a report on money received by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, arguing that “he didn’t find it on Google.”
“This is the kind of information that would have been known only by the Treasury Department, his banks or by prosecutors, raising some serious questions about what kind of operation Avenatti is running. Is there a team of people digging this up? Are they paying off sources? Is Fusion GPS involved?” Penn wrote.
An awful lot of questions about Avenatti’s sudden rise to media cynosure need to be answered, and they don’t stop with where his money came from. Avenatti claims he’s received payment for the Daniels case from the porn star herself and from crowdfunding, although Daniels has previously said she isn’t paying for her representation and crowdfunding generally doesn’t buy the kind of enthusiasm and omnipresence Avenatti has brought to the case.
Is there any connection to the Clinton Foundation or Fusion GPS? It could simply be randomness, but some sort of legitimate connection is far from out of the question, especially given the quality of opposition research Avenatti — heretofore mostly a high-end cultural ambulance chaser — seems to have been able to dredge up. For all of his loquaciousness, Avenatti seems loath to discuss details about how he got involved in the case and who’s paying for him.
Those are questions we wouldn’t mind having answered in a little more detail the next time that he makes one of his many appearances on CNN. If this were a lawyer associated with Trump and these kind of connections had surfaced regarding the Saudi royal family and Mifsud, the mainstream media would be all over this, particularly if said lawyer was practically camping out on their newsroom floor.
It’s time for the media to step up and do its job.
What do you think?
