Should The US Break Up?

When a marriage becomes untenable for either the husband or wife, or both, the marriage is dissolved. They get a divorce, and few — outside of religious circles — would argue against their right to divorce or its necessity if one or other of the parties determines there are "irreconcilable differences" and a legal dissolution of the marriage is in his best interest. Yet when secession — which is the divorce of a state from the nation or divorce of one part of the state from another — is mentioned, people seem to lose their minds. But make no mistake; secession is in the air. You heard it in Virginia as the General Assembly discussed the very real possibility it would pass legislation to disarm the commonwealth's citizens. The governor of West Virginia offered liberty-loving Virginians safe haven if they wanted to divorce themselves from dark blue gun-grabbing Richmond and it surrounding statist suburbs. Secession talk is also rife in Oregon, where rural Oregonians are seeking to become part of Idaho, and in Illinois, where Illinoians would like nothing better than to separate from Chicago — or separate Chicago from Illinois. There remains an active Calexit movement where factions are alternately trying to either separate entirely from California to form a 51st state, or break the state up into as many as six smaller states. More and more, American people are becoming fed up with the elected class in both the Washington, D.C., cesspool and their heavily blue state capitols. It seems that once elected and after sniffing the wine at the altar of power, most politicians lose whatever humanity they ever had. They quickly begin to ignore the will of their constituents, bowing instead to the will of their corporate masters, forgetting (or ignoring) the promises they made to get elected. Once entrenched in office and buttressed by the crony/fascist system, they become almost impossible to unseat. This is occurring in state governments and the federal government. What's more, these urban centers seem to concentrate statist bureaucrats who make their living off government, lawyers and minorities which seek to leach off it. Politicians, bureaucrats and lawyers love socialism for everyone else, but not themselves. Lawyers write the laws that channel all power, authority and wealth to the government. They create confusion so the people can't understand the law and can't understand esoteric (hidden) political and "legal" manipulation of the public. So lawyers create socialism and label it democracy. Socialism is a disguised system of stealing the wealth and production of the producers of wealth with spurious laws. Stealing or taking from producers and transferring it to nonproducers make for very sophisticated and concealed class warfare. In other words, it is a parasite system with the parasites ruling and fleecing their host through deception. In the halls of power there is a hostile movement against the people and toward more government centralization. While this idea sits well with much of the parasite class found in mostly urban areas of the country, it is disagreeable to many — if not most — in the more rural "red" portion of the country. Manipulated minorities love government intervention and intrusion (socialism) as a net for perceived social inequality, poverty and underachievement. This is the exact opposite of what a free people want and need. The American Union was formed as a confederation of States that joined together voluntarily. It was the States that joined together, not the people. The Founders saw the states as checks on the Federal government. They understood that the federal government would attempt to assume more power than it was granted by the Constitution. So the senate was devised in Article I, Section 3 in such a way as to give the State legislatures Senate-appointing powers. This made the senators accountable to the States rather than special interests. The War of Northern Aggression (aka the Civil War) took away one check the states had on federal overreach: secession. It also forever linked the idea of secession to slavery and/or white supremacy. Thanks to indoctrination from the public (non)education system, most people have no idea that secession has nothing to do with racism or slavery and everything to do with preserving liberty. The Constitution drafted by the Founders was not intended to form a strong "national" government with heavily centralized power, but as a means to represent a group of states only on matters that concerned them all. The government was given a list of enumerated powers in Article I, Section 8. The Constitution was not a document designed to restrain the people or the states, but to place restraints on the federal government the Founders were creating. This is an important distinction. It would not have been ratified if not for the promise of a bill of rights to further check the federal government. That's because most of the Founders — particularly the Anti-Federalists — feared the Constitution wasn't strong enough to prevent the Federal government from stealing power from the states. To that end, the Bill of Rights established a set of restrictions on federal government. The preamble to the Bill of Rights expresses this quite plainly: THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution. The first eight amendments were checks on federal power. The 9th and 10th Amendments state the Founders' intent that all power not granted the general (federal) government in the Constitution was reserved to the states and to the people. The Constitution was based on Federalism, or the concept that authority for governing local matters should be left to the purview of local and state governments, and authority for big items affecting the whole (trade, war, disputes between the states, etc.) was held by the federal government and determined through representatives of the people (House of Representatives) and the states (Senate). The Founding Fathers understood that states joining the compact voluntarily were free to leave. They believed in the words of the Declaration that governments derived their just powers from the consent of the governed, and when government becomes destructive of those ends it is the right of the people to change or abolish it. In fact, it was New England states, or at least Federalists from those states, who first broached the idea of leaving the United States as early as 1800. They called it disunion. Timothy Pickering of Massachusetts (who was George Washington's adjutant general during the Revolution and served as Washington's secretary of state and secretary of war), along with his Federalist cohorts, sought to separate after Thomas Jefferson was elected president. Pickering called separation the remedy pointed to by "the principles of our Revolution." "I will rather anticipate a new confederacy, exempt from the corrupt and corrupting influence of the aristocratic Democrats of the South," wrote Pickering. "There will be a separation… [and] the black and white populations will mark the boundary." Senator James Hillhouse, a Revolutionary War captain who went on to serve in the second, third and fourth congresses, said, "The Eastern States must and will dissolve the union and form a separate government." New England Federalists believed that Virginia was gaining too much power and would act against the interests of New England states and in the interests of Southern ones. After Jefferson's election, Federalist Stephen Higgenson claimed the federal government "had fallen into the hands of infidel, anti-commercial, anti-New England Southerners" who would "govern and depress New England." Federalist John Lowell Jr. expressed state's rights sentiments of the New England secessionists when he stated, "[I]t is our duty, our most solemn duty, to vindicate the rights, and support the interests of the states we represent." Their complaints mirrored those made by Southerners advocating for secession in the 1860s, including Robert E. Lee, who told General Winfield Scott, "If the union is disrupted I shall return to my native state and share the miseries of my people and save in defense will draw my sword on none." In 1804, Federalists began plotting their strategy to begin "disunion." Massachusetts was to take the lead by seceding first, Pickering wrote in a letter to Theodore Lyman, followed by Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Their cause disintegrated when Aaron Burr failed to win the governorship of New York and Burr was then tarnished after he killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel. In the 1830s and 1840s, abolitionists, chief among them William Lloyd Garrison, called for "disunion." The New England Anti-Slavery Convention voted in favor of secession by a margin of 250-24. The Civil War — aka the War to Prevent Southern Secession or the war of Northern Aggression — essentially neutered the 9th and 10th Amendments. The war was not started by President Abraham Lincoln to end slavery. It was fought to reign in a "rebellion" of states who were exercising their rights as outlined in the Declaration of Independence. Abraham Lincoln, the war's chief prosecutor, himself said, "My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or destroy Slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that." In fact, the official government name for the war is the "War of the Rebellion." To "save the Union," Lincoln trampled on the rule of law. He suspended habeas corpus, ignored Supreme Court rulings, sent federal troops into state legislatures to prevent them from voting, arrested politicians, shut down opposition newspapers and held their editors without trial and signed illegal executive orders and congress-passed laws. Americans are as politically divided today as they were in the mid-19th century. On the one hand are progressive/socialist/communists who long for stronger federal government and control over every aspect of life. They inhabit the corridors of power on the east and west coasts and the urban centers of the states — primarily state capitols. On the other hand are the people who desire liberty and a small government that doesn't seek to control them but instead seeks to stand aside so they can prosper. These two philosophies are diametrically opposed. Why shouldn't there be a separation so we can determine which works best for the people? WHY HUAWEI ARREST IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR US-CHINA RELATIONS AND THE MARKET

Over the weekend while Presidents Donald Trump of the U.S. and Xi Jinping of China were at a dinner meeting working out a ceasefire in the ongoing tariffs battle, the CFO for Huawei Technologies was arrested in Vancouver, Canada.

“We believe this is a clear signal that the trade war is escalating to a new level. Public opinion in China will likely become more negative in respect to the trade war, and potentially against US companies. The government may find it difficult to tell the public that they have offered significant concessions to the U.S.”

Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of the founder of the Chinese telecommunications giant, could face extradition to the United States on potential violations of U.S. sanctions against Iran. The arrest could have massive implications for the future of U.S-Chinese relations, and it is a clear sign the trade war is escalating rather than easing.

The Chinese government is outraged over the arrest, and said Meng broke no U.S. or Canadian laws, demanding Canada “immediately correct the mistake” and release her. The Chinese embassy in Canada also condemned the arrest as a “serious violation of human rights.”

The embassy also said it “will pay close attention to the developments and take every action to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens.”

The fallout further complicates the already tenuous relationship between the U.S. and China just days after the two agreed to hold off on further tariffs while ironing out a new trade agreement over the next 90 days.

News sent the market into a free fall for the second day in a row, with the S&P 500 (-2.1 percent), Dow (-2.3 percent) and Nasdaq (-1.3 percent) all seeing sharp declines by lunchtime on the East Coast.

One of the biggest hurdles in the trade war is Washington’s insistence that China give up its predatory tech theft ways as Beijing presses onward to its “Made in China 2025” goal to become a world leader in robotics, aerospace, clean-energy cars and other tech sectors.

This puts Huawei in a particularly dicey spot because the U.S. considers and it and other smaller Chinese tech companies to be fronts for spying.

Per Yahoo:

“We believe this is a clear signal that the trade war is escalating to a new level,” Deutsche Bank chief China economist Zhiwei Zhang wrote in a note Thursday. “Public opinion in China will likely become more negative in respect to the trade war, and potentially against US companies. The government may find it difficult to tell the public that they have offered significant concessions to the U.S.”

The probability of the U.S. and China reaching a trade deal by March 1 has dropped to 30% from 40%, according to Deutsche Bank’s estimates. “U.S. business interests in China face higher risk than before,” Zhang said.

While Huawei lacks the high profile of the Chinese BAT technology giants Baidu (BIDU), Alibaba (BABA) and Tencent (TCEHY), the company has made strides to push into artificial intelligence, chipmaking and 5G wireless services. UBS notes that Huawei is the biggest optical vendor by far outside the U.S. The company is the second biggest smartphone maker by market share, according to International Data Corporation.

“Huawei has been widely recognized as one of the most successful technology companies in China,” Zhang noted.

The company is also a customer of a panoply of global technology companies, leaving its suppliers vulnerable to lost revenue in the event of fallout following the arrest. Its list of suppliers includes the U.S. companies Broadcomm (AVGO), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Micron Technology (MU), which each carry between 2% and 6% revenue exposure to Huawei, according to Goldman Sachs data. Chinese electronics giant Foxxconn also counts Huawei as a buyer and carries 11% revenue exposure to the company.

Huawei’s competitors including Nokia (NOK), Ericsson, Cisco (CSCO), Juniper (JNPR) and Ciena (CIEN) could stand to benefit in the event of Huawei share loss of the optical component industry, UBS analyst Tejas Venkatesh wrote in a note Thursday. However, “it would likely take time to play out,” he added.

“By order of revenue contribution, the optical component suppliers into Huawei are NeoPhotonics (40%, $117mn); Lumentum (11%, $137mn); Finisar (11%, $145mn); Inphi (14%, $50mn); Oclaro (11%, $60mn); and Acacia (~7%, $25mn). If Huawei loses share, it could be net negative for suppliers with high share in the account,” Venkatesh said. “But they collectively also sell optics to the potential share gainers. For instance, Oclaro was the largest supplier of optics to Nokia last year.”

What in the world has happened to our country? 

Most of us have very fond memories from when we were younger, and it is true that often our memories of “the good old days” can leave out the bad parts.  None of us are perfect individually, and America has certainly never been without major problems as a nation.  But have we ever witnessed the level of social decay that we are seeing around the country today?  We are like a divorced, bloated, drug-addicted middle age man that has seen his life completely fall apart, and it would be nice to believe that we have hit rock bottom, but the truth is that we just keep on sinking even lower.  The following are 12 examples that show that America is far more messed up than when you were a kid…

#1 When I was young, fast food was something that people would get as a treat every once in a while.  Today, more than a third of the country has made it a lifestyle…

Americans’ love affair with fast food continues, with one in every three adults chowing down on the fare on any given day. That’s the finding from a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

When asked by researchers, 37 percent of adults said they’d eaten fast food at least once over the past 24 hours. There was one surprise: Bucking the notion that poorer Americans favor fast food the most, the report found that intake actually rose with income.

No wonder obesity rates are at an all-time high and so many of us are developing cancer, heart disease and diabetes…

#2 Overdosing on drugs is now the leading cause of death for Americans under 50, and we now grappling with the worst opioid crisis in our entire history…

Drug overdoses are the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50, who are now more likely to die from a drug overdose than from car accidents or firearms. The United States has the dubious distinction of having the highest percentage of drug-related deaths in the world.

However, while opioid abuse is a nationwide problem, Visual Capitalist’s Nick Routley notes that there are specific areas that are being hit harder by this epidemic. Using the location data above, from NORC at the University of Chicago, we can see clusters of counties that have an extremely high rate of overdose deaths. Between 2012 and 2016, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio saw a combined 18,000 deaths related to opioid abuse.

#3 We often remember the 1970s and the 1980s as the time when cocaine use was out of control in America, but the truth is that cocaine deaths in the U.S. just hit a brand new all-time record high…

Cocaine deaths have hit a record high as the drug has quietly become increasingly popular while the attention of the media and health officials has been on the ongoing opioid epidemic.

In the last 12 months, 14,205 Americans died of cocaine overdoses, marking a 22 percent increase over the previous year, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

#4 And of course meth use continues to spiral wildly out of control.  Just recently, a mother was arrested for leaving her two young children alone in a hot car with a bag of meth sitting on the front seat.  How out of it do you have to be to do something like this?…

A Pasco County woman was arrested after she reportedly left two small children in a hot car with a bag of methamphetamine on the front seat while she was shopping in a Hudson dollar store.

Deputies responded to 12125 US Highway 19 in Hudson to check the welfare of two young children in a hot car all alone. The children, a 1-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were both seated in the back seat of the car. Deputies found a small clear bag containing a crystal-like substance sitting on the driver’s seat. A field presumptive test showed the substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

#5 Speaking of discount retailers, something very unusual recently happened at a Wal-Mart store.  After spotting an 8-year-old girl that he liked, an 81-year-old man offered to “buy her” from her mother for $200,000…

A man tried to buy an 8-year-old girl from her mother at a Walmart in Port Orange for $200,000, police said.

Hellmuth Kolb, 81, is charged with false imprisonment and battery. Police said Kolb tried to grab and kiss the girl and after he offered to buy her.

#6 In this day and age, we are inventing new ways to abuse our children.  Just recently, it came out that a daycare center in Missouri had hosted a “fight club” during which the toddlers were urged to beat the living daylights out of one another…

A horrified Missouri mother is suing her sons’ former daycare center after two teachers hosted a ‘fight club’ and encouraged the toddlers to beat each other up.

Video has since emerged of the disturbing December 2016 incident, which shows children pounding each other to the ground while others break down in tears.

Nicole Merseal’s 10-year-old son filmed the horrific one-day ‘fight club’, which took place at the Adventure Learning Center in St Louis, on his iPad.

#7 And of course more allegations of sexual abuse seem to come out on a constant basis these days.  In Massachusetts, a youth football coach has been charged with raping numerous young boys and recording the attacks on video.  In the old days this would have been a major scandal, but these days this kind of thing happens so frequently that major U.S. news outlets barely reported on it.  The following comes from a British news source…

A married father and former youth football coach from Massachusetts has been arrested for allegedly raping young boys and recording the sexual assaults on video.

Derek Sheehan, 48, of Norwell, was arrested last week and later arraigned on three counts of aggravated rape of a child, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age, three counts of pose/exhibit in sexual act, three counts of photograph sexual or intimate parts of child and four counts of possessing child pornography.

#8 Another thing that happens so frequently that it barely makes a blip on the news are mass brawls.  Just recently, a mass brawl involving “up to 200 school students” happened in Philadelphia, but once again it was almost entirely ignored by the media…

Over a dozen juveniles were arrested and cited after police say a large brawl involving up to 200 school students erupted outside of a McDonald’s in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.

Police say they were called for a report of a large fight on Broad Street and Hunting Park Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Police say when they arrived it “immediately deteriorated into a riotous condition” with roughly 150 to 200 students fighting and instigating.

#9 But even though there is so much pure evil going on all around us, if you really want to make a big media splash just do or say something that is really “politically incorrect”.  In our current environment, just about everything offends “the thought police”.  For example, Kleenex was recently forced to give their “Mansize” tissues a new name because the old name was considered to be “sexist” by some people…

Kleenex is rebranding its “Mansize” tissues amid cries of sexism from consumers. The new name? Simply, “Kleenex Extra Large.”

That’s according to a statement from Kleenex’s Texas-based parent company, Kimberly-Clark.

#10 When I was young, I don’t remember hearing about any mass shootings.  Eventually they started to become more common, and now they are happening so rapidly that it is difficult to keep up with them all.  For example, a mass shooting at a Halloween event in southern California that happened about a week ago barely got noticed by the mainstream media…

Seven people were shot late Sunday evening at nightclub in Southern California, officials said.

The Riverside Police Department received a call around 12:04 a.m. and responded to reports of a shooting inside and outside of Sevilla Nightclub.

Online flyers show the Sevilla Nightclub had advertised a Halloween event called, “The Purge,” seemingly in reference to the name of the horror film.

If something like this had happened 40 years ago, it would have been a top news story for weeks.

#11 If you were in an accident and you had to have your foot amputated, what would you do with that foot?  Well, one guy decided that he would grind it up and use it in tacos that he would feed to his friends…

You see, Shiny was in a terrible accident that forced him to think quick on his feet. A car hit his motorcycle which sent him flying into a forest, causing his foot to shatter to a point where he would never walk again. Doctors immediately saw his foot and stated they needed to amputate it. Instead of crying about it, he decided to ask doctors a question: “Can I keep it?”

On Sunday, July 10, 2016, three weeks after the accident, Shiny (who prefers to remain anonymous), invited 10 of his most “open-minded” friends to brunch. They ate puff pastries, chocolate cake, fruit tarts, and gin drank lemonade punches and mimosas. What was unusual about this brunch? The main course was fajita tacos made from Shiney’s severed human limb!

Apparently this is not illegal, but it should be.  If someone fed me their severed foot without my knowledge I would be absolutely furious.

#12 Of course any list like this would be incomplete without an example of gross government incompetence…

The agency’s inspector general traced the malicious software to a single unnamed USGS employee, who reportedly used a government-issued computer to visit some 9,000 adult video sites, according to a report published Oct. 17.

Many of the prohibited pages were linked to Russian websites containing malware, which was ultimately downloaded to the employee’s computer and used to infiltrate USGS networks, auditors found. The investigation found the employee saved much of the pornographic material on an unauthorized USB drive and personal Android cellphone, both of which were connected to their computer against agency protocols.

To me, the most incredible part of this story is that the guy was able to stay employed long enough to visit “9,000 adult video sites”.  Didn’t this guy have a superviser, and why did it take so long to discover that he was endlessly watching adult videos while at work?

As you can see, America is a giant mess and we desperately need to get things turned around.  When people say that they want to “make America great again”, what they are really admitting is that America has fallen from greatness and needs to be restored.

We are deeply, deeply troubled as a society, and creating more prosperity is not going to solve what ails us.  Ultimately what we are facing is a heart issue, and until we deal with our hearts nothing is really going to get any better.Tr

A 2001 UN strategy document is getting fresh attention in light of the migrant crisis because it outlines the need to flood America and Europe with hundreds of millions of migrants in order to maintain population levels.

Entitled Replacement Migration: Is It a Solution to Declining and Ageing Populations?, the plan seeks to “offset population decline and population ageing resulting from low fertility and mortality rates.”

It contends that mass migration to the west is needed for governments to maintain “many established economic, social and political policies and programmes”.

The strategy document sets out six potential scenarios for each country or region of the world necessary to meet this goal.

Under the most severe scenario, large numbers of migrants will be required to “maintain the potential support ratio” (of a population) at the highest level.

In the case of the United States, under the most extreme scenario, the report states, “It would be necessary to have 593 million immigrants from 1995 to 2050, an average of 10.8 million per year.”

“By 2050, out of a United States total population of 1.1 billion, 775 million, or 73 per cent, would be post 1995 immigrants or their descendants,” adds the report.

In Europe’s case, the document asserts that at least 159 million migrant workers will need to enter by 2025 in order, “to maintain the current balance of 4 to 5 workers for a pensioner.”

Under the worst case scenario, 1.4 billion migrants would be needed by 2050, an average of 25.2 million a year. This means that by 2050, Europe’s population would be 2.3 billion, of which 1.7 billion, almost three quarters, would be migrants or their descendents.

Given that Europe is already having huge problems integrating significantly fewer numbers of migrants, the numbers in this report are obviously fantastical, yet the document does indicate that mass migration to “replace” the host population of America and European countries has been on the UN’s agenda for decades.

It also echoes a plan French President Macron announced recentlywherein he argued that mass migration was Europe’s “destiny and that that hundreds of million of Africans will continue to flood into the continent “for many years to come.”

The document is receiving fresh attention in light of the migrant crisis in Europe, which has seen over 2 million migrants enter the continent over the last few years.

As we highlight in the video below, the argument that millions of migrant workers are needed to pay tax and fund pension liabilities is a complete misnomer because large numbers of migrants do not find employment and only end up on government welfare.
