Will Government Ever Stop Lying To Us?

When government spokesmen's lips are moving, they are lying. So it goes when the President, Jay Carney, IRS spokesman, and the like all tell us that the targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups is over. It turns out all to be lies. Recent investigations are showing that the targeting continues.

This can only mean one thing--government is being used by certain people to go after its enemies. However, it is far removed and more vicious than Nixon's "enemies" list. It is illegal, immoral and very un-American.

We believe the efforts against the Tea Party emanate from the West Wing and most likely the Oval Office, however, Obama lovers who work for the dictator will fall on their swords before testifying against the President.  This is how sick this Administration and those who work for it, are.

For example, we have Lois Lerner, the IRS person in charge of the Tea Party denials. In her Congressional appearance she would  deny that she did anything wrong and then go on to claim the Fifth Amendment.  If she  was innocent, why claim the protection against self incrimination?  Why is she still being paid by us while on administrative leave? The answer is that she knows a lot, knows who directed the actions against conservative groups and the government knows that as long as she is being paid, she will keep her mouth closed.  In other words, she is being bribed not to say anything.

As soon as the government drops her (and they will when they believe the issue has passed), she will write a book (if she is not doing that already, we would be surprised) and become the person who brings down the Obama Administration.   These events don't ever go away.  The President's time is coming but it will be after months, if not years, of denials, lies and misdirection.

See this is the way that government works today in the US. Lie first, then change the story, then find a scapegoat and only when  the facts really come out, claim that their investigation "found the facts."

We can see this template in the IRS scandal, the NSA scandal, the Homeland Security massive purchases, and Benghazi. Same play book, different words and players but heading down the same path.  Aren't you tired of this? We are.

So...what are you going to do about it?

Agent: IRS Still Targeting Tea Party Groups

The Internal Revenue Service is still targeting tea party and conservative groups in their applications for tax-exempt status, a full three months after the scandal first erupted.

"In plain English, the IRS is still targeting tea party cases," an aide to Rep. Dave Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, told The Washington Examiner.

Camp, a Michigan Republican, released a transcript of testimony from an IRS agent who told a Ways and Means investigator that the agency was still targeting such groups, the Examiner reports.

The testimony was given in a closed-door session on Aug. 1, according to the Examiner.

Camp called the renewed scrutiny "outrageous."

The IRS agent, who was not identified, told the committee that applications for tax-exempt status from tea party groups were forced into a special "secondary screening" because the agency has not yet developed new guidelines on how to review applications from such groups, the Examiner reports.

In the transcript Camp released, a Ways and Means investigator asked the IRS agent: "If you saw — I am asking this currently, if today if a tea party case, a group — a case from a tea party group — came in to your desk, you reviewed the file and there was no evidence of political activity, would you potentially approve that case? Is that something you would do?"

"At this point, I would send it to secondary screening, political advocacy," the agent responded, according to the transcript.

"So you would treat a tea party group as a political advocacy case even if there was no evidence of political activity on the application?" the committee investigator then asked. "Is that right?"

"Based on my current manager's direction, uh-huh," the IRS agent responded.

The original scandal erupted in early May when a Treasury Department inspector general revealed that nonprofit tea party, conservative, and religious groups had been singled out for special scrutiny by the IRS for their tax-exempt applications between 2010 and through the 2012 presidential election.

During the period, the IRS agents placed groups with words like "tea party and "patriot" in their names on a "be on the lookout" — or BOLO — list for additional screening of its applications for tax-exempt status. The 501(c)(4) status allows groups to keep their donors private.

President Barack Obama fired Steven Miller, the head of the IRS, who apologized in testimony to the Ways and Means Committee, calling it "horrible customer service."

Miller, who had been a deputy commissioner whose portfolio included the unit that decided on tax-exempt status, was briefed about the practice by IRS officials after May 2012.

At least three other IRS officials had been replaced or were put on administrative leave.

Lois Lerner, who oversaw the IRS division that targeted the groups, is still on administrative leave. In May, she invoked her Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination, refusing to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is investigating the matter.

Twenty-five such groups have since sued the IRS and the Obama administration in federal court over the additional scrutiny.

But Danny Werfel, the acting head of the IRS, told Congress six weeks ago that the BOLO list had been suspended.

He also reaffirmed the inspector-general report's finding that no employees or outsiders intentionally subjected tea party and other conservative groups to extra scrutiny.

"While fact-gathering is still underway, we have not found evidence of intentional wrongdoing" by anyone outside or inside the IRS, Werfel said in June.

But since nothing has replaced the list, agents apparently do not know how to handle tea party applications, or are too scared to make a decision, the Examiner reports.

Asked by the Ways and Means investigator how it now handles such applications, the IRS agent said: "If a political advocacy case came in today, I would give it or talk about it to my manager, because right now we really don't have any direction, or we haven't had any for the last month and a half."

Camp told the Examiner: "It is outrageous that IRS management continues to target tea party cases without any justification. The harassment, abuse, and delays these Americans have faced over the last few years has been unwarranted, unprovoked and, at times, possibly illegal.

"The fact that the IRS still continues to treat the tea party differently and subject them to additional targeting is outrageous — and it must stop immediately."

Below is the Ways and Means Committee transcript of the IRS agent from Aug. 1:

Committee: Today, currently, how do you analyze advocacy cases? If, for example, Tea Party of Arkansas came in today, how would you handle it?

IRS agent: Well, the BOLO list doesn't exist anymore.

Committee: Sure.

IRS agent: If a political advocacy case came in today, I would give it or talk about it to my manager, because right now we really don't have any direction, or we haven't had any for the last month and a half.

------ (break line included in transcript)

Committee: If you saw — I am asking this currently, if today if a tea party case, a group — a case from a tea party group came in to your desk, you reviewed the file and there was no evidence of political activity, would you potentially approve that case? Is that something you would do?

IRS agent: At this point, I would send it to secondary screening, political advocacy.

Committee: So you would treat a tea party group as a political advocacy case even if there was no evidence of political activity on the application. Is that right?

IRS agent: Based on my current manager's direction, uh-huh.

We Need More Fillibusters

In the following post, Wayne Allyn Root  suggests Conservative members of the Senate continue to filibuster until we get answers to some very important issues namely Benghazi, Homeland Security purchases, foreign spending while the White House is shut down and the unemployment situation in the US. We could not agree more.

Senator Paul made his point about drones and we hope that the American people hear him. Allowing drones to "take out" Americans on American soil would be un-Constitutional but it would create a very chilling effect on all civil discord. Can one imagine drones being used in the 60's against Civil Rights leaders? In today's world it could have happened.

We would hope that the press also would find their way to understanding that we don't have a King, we have a President who is responsible to the people. The fifth estate must find its voice and re-emerge to do the work that the press must do to keep freedom alive.

Congratulations to Paul Ryan, he has done yeoman's work, let's not let it go to waste.

Rand Paul, American Hero

March 14, 2013 by

Hugo Chavez just died, and many of us said “good riddance” to a tyrant who defrauded his own people, intimidated his political opposition and left his economy and country in disarray. Senator Rand Paul seemed to be reminding us: “Why would we want a tyrant in America, too?” That was the point of Paul’s nearly 13-hour filibuster on the U.S. Senate floor last week.
Yes, Barack Obama is cool and hip and fancies himself “a man of the people.” But with each hour Paul kept up his filibuster, you could feel Obama’s popularity melting away. Paul seemed to be saying: “Does it really matter if he’s hip if he wants to kill you, an American citizen, on American soil? Does it matter if he’s cool and the kind of guy you’d like to have a beer with, if he wants you dead without a trial?”
In the end, Paul won. Obama blinked. But Paul’s filibuster accomplished much more than forcing the President to admit he cannot kill Americans on American soil without a trial.
Paul proved the Tea Party is alive and well — and America’s best hope to stop Obama from shredding our Constitution and destroying the America we love.
Paul proved “the emperor has no clothes.” This was a big public embarrassment for Obama.
He made liberals, the American Civil Liberties Union and the media look foolish for never saying a word about something so important as our right not to be assassinated by our own President.
Paul showed people like John McCain and Lindsay Graham how a U.S. Senator in the opposition is supposed to act, how to stand up to the President while he violates our Constitution. And they sure felt embarrassed: See how they viciously attacked Paul after he showed them up.
And in 13 hours, Paul got out of his father Ron Paul’s very large shadow, became his own man and became a leading contender for President of the United States in 2016.
We must never forget that Rand Paul had to conduct a 13-hour filibuster and put a national spotlight on Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder before they were willing to publicly concede that they can’t kill Americans on American soil without ever hearing the charges, without ever facing your accusers, without hearing your rights, without a lawyer, without a trial.
Paul made Obama look like King George. And the President’s ratings not only collapsed, they’ve continued to go down ever since.
But I think this was about much more than drones. I think this was symbolic. Paul is a brilliant strategist. This was about Obama’s nonstop abuse of power, disregard for the U.S. Constitution and destruction of the U.S. economy.
Maybe this woke up the sleeping giant: the American people. Maybe this woke up Congress. Maybe this woke up the ACLU. Maybe this woke up the media. Hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?
In the future, I suggest a series of nonstop filibusters to shine a light on what Obama is doing to America.
Let’s filibuster until we find out what happened in Benghazi, Libya, to four American heroes that Obama allowed to die, without giving them the proper security before the attack or the proper rescue attempt during the attack.
Let’s filibuster until we find out why, if America is so broke we can’t afford White House tours or afford to keep illegal alien felons in prison, then how come we have hundreds of millions of dollars to spare for Muslim Brotherhood radicals in Egypt who hate America, want to destroy Israel and terrorize and murder Christians on a daily basis?
Let’s filibuster until we find out why Obama is so desperate about disarming Americans, banning our assault rifles and taxing our bullets, yet at the same time Obama’s Homeland Security is buying record quantities of assault rifles, armored vehicles and enough bullets for a 30-year war and building a private civilian army that answers only to Obama.
And perhaps most importantly, let’s filibuster about why Obama and the media are able to keep calling this economy “in recovery” and report to us that unemployment is “improving,” at the same time disposable income just suffered the biggest drop in 54 years, homelessness in New York City is the highest since the 1929 Great Depression, food stamp use just hit another all-time record (an unimaginable 20 percent of eligible Americans are now on food stamps), and there are a record 89,304,000 able-bodied, working-age Americans unemployed. Incidentally, while the Federal government claims 236,000 new jobs were added last month, this statistic shows that 296,000 jobs have been lost since January.
By the way, Paul, this last one about the economy is so important, and the lies we are being told so massive, I suggest at least a 48 hour-filibuster.
I’m Wayne Allyn Root for PersonalLiberty.com. I’m headed to the airport to fly to Washington, D.C. I am honored to be one of the invited speakers at CPAC (The Conservative Political Action Conference). I’ll be joining an exclusive group of speakers that includes Senators Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee; Governors Rick Perry, Scott Walker and Bobby Jindal; former Vice Presidential candidates Sarah Palin and Paul Ryan; Donald Trump; and Dr. Ben Carson. What an honor. See you right back here next week. God bless America.
