The Gun Haters Are Going To Love This Story! Retired Police Captain Shoots "Innocent Man Texting His Son" Will Be The Story.

RETIRED POLICE CAPTAIN SHOOTS A MAN DEAD BEFORE SCREENING OF ‘LONE SURVIVOR’ – THE REASON WHY IS BAFFLING

Story by the Associated Press; curated by Jason Howerton
–
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (AP) — An argument over texting in a Florida movie theater Monday triggered a retired Tampa police captain to fatally shoot a man sitting in front of him, as about 25 horrified moviegoers looked on, sheriff’s officials said.
“Somebody throws popcorn. I’m not sure who threw the popcorn,” said Charles Cummings, who, as a birthday treat, was about to watch the movie “Lone Survivor” at The Grove 16 Theater.
“And then bang, he was shot.”

Curtis Reeves, 71, has been charged with second-degree murder and it’s not immediately clear whether he has retained an attorney. The Daily Mail reports that Reeves also shot the man’s wife, though it wasn’t clear if he intended to.
Pasco County Sheriff’s officials said the shooting happened when Reeves asked 43-year-old Chad Oulson to stop texting at the theater in Wesley Chapel, a suburb about a half hour north of downtown Tampa.
Reeves and his wife were sitting behind Oulson and his wife. Oulson told Reeves that he was texting with his 3-year-old daughter, Cummings said.
“It ended almost as quickly as it started,” said sheriff’s spokesman Doug Tobin. The sheriff’s office says an off-duty Sumter County deputy detained Reeves until police arrived.
Cummings and his son Alex – who both had blood on their clothes as they walked out of the theater – told a group of reporters Monday afternoon that the show was still in previews when the two couples started arguing.
Cummings said the man in the back row – later identified as Reeves – got up and left the auditorium, presumably to get a manager. But he came back after a few minutes, without a manager and appearing upset. Moments later, the argument between the two men resumed, and the man in the front row stood up.
Officials said Oulson asked Reeves if he reported him to management for using his phone.
Cummings said the men started raising their voices and popcorn was thrown. Authorities said Reeves took out a gun, and Oulson’s wife put her hand over her husband, and that’s when Reeves fired his weapon, striking Nichole Oulson in the hand and her husband in the chest.
“I can’t believe people would bring a pistol, a gun, to a movie,” Cummings said. “I can’t believe they would argue and fight and shoot one another over popcorn. Over a cellphone.”
Cummings, who said he was a combat Marine in Vietnam, said Oulson fell onto him and his son.
“Blood started coming out of his mouth,” said Alex Cummings. “It was just a very bad scene.”
Charles Cummings said his son went to call 911, while Cummings and another patron who claimed to a nurse began performing CPR on the victim.
A man sitting next to the shooter grabbed the gun out of his hand, and the suspect did not attempt to get away, Cummings said.
Oulson and his wife were taken by ambulance to a Tampa-area hospital, where the Chad Oulson died, Tobin said. His wife’s injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
Tampa Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said in a news release that Reeves was a captain when he retired from the department in 1993. She added that he was instrumental in establishing the agency’s first tactical response team. After he retired, Reeves worked security for the Busch Gardens theme park and was on the board of a neighboring county’s Crime Stoppers organization. Reeves’ son also is a Tampa officer, police said.

Now Americans Cannot Speak Out At Public Meetings

‘IS THIS AMERICA?’: PARENT ‘MANHANDLED’, ARRESTED WHILE SPEAKING OUT AGAINST COMMON CORE AT PUBLIC FORUM

A parent in Towson, Md., was arrested Thursday night at a public forum after vocally expressing his concerns about the Baltimore County School District’s plan to use Common Core standards in its curriculum.
Robert Small, a concerned father, was forcefully removed from the meeting by a police officer after he interrupted Baltimore County Schools Superintendent Dallas Dance during the question-and-answer portion of the forum.
The meeting apparently didn’t allow parents to stand up and ask questions or comment. Parents and other attendants were instead asked to write their questions on a piece of paper and officials would read them.
However, Small began speaking out against the district’s use of Common Core, prompting a security guard, who was also a police officer, to approach him and order him to leave. “Let’s go!” he said sternly.

When Small didn’t immediately comply, the officer began pulling his arm and pushing him towards the exit. Some audience members gasped at the cop’s use of force.
“Don’t stand for this,” the father said as he was dragged out. “You are sitting here like cattle! Is this America?”
Small also urged other parents to demand answers on Common Core and the curriculum being used to educate their children.
As the Baltimore Sun reports, the officer then “pushed Small and then escorted him into the hall, handcuffed him and had him sit on the curb in front of the school.”
Small was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer and faces a $2,500 fine and up to 10 years in prison. He was also charged with disturbing a school operation, which carries an additional $2,500 and up to six months in jail.
Small attempted to push the officer away when he first approached him, the police report claims. Watch the video and decide for yourself if Small assaulted the officer:
Despite some opposition from parents, the Maryland State Department of Education reportedly plans to go forward with its implementation of Common Core standards, joining 45 other states and Washington, D.C., in adopting the standards for the first time this year.
“Look, I am being manhandled and shut down because I asked inconvenient questions,” Small told the Baltimore Sun after the incident. “Why won’t they allow an open forum where there can be a debate? We are told to sit there and be lectured to about how great common core is.”

Are Americans Really Anti-Abortion

According to a recent Huffington Post/YouGov poll, Americans overwhelmingly do not agree with abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Why are our leaders (??) not hearing us? Our leaders so wedded to money for their next election that sadly, it is the pro-abortion crowd that gives them the bucks so they vote against any limitation on abortions.

This is just another one of those issues that the money makes the decision not the morality of the question or the effect it will have on the country or what is in the best interests of the nation.  Our leaders are whores who prostitute themselves, and any principles they have, in order to win the next election.  This is not leadership.

When will we find leaders again? Or is this nation doomed as other great civilizations of the past? We hope that a crisis arises and leaders rise up otherwise, we are lost.

ABORTION POLL BY LEFT-LEANING HUFFINGTON POST YIELDS VERY INTERESTING RESULTS

Huffington Post Abortion Poll Shows Wide Support for Ban After 20 Weeks of Pregnancy
Credit: AP
Americans overwhelmingly support a national law banning abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, according to a new poll by the left-leaning Huffington Post/YouGov.
By a margin of 59 to 30 percent, Americans said they would favor a “federal law that would ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.”
Further, “on a 20-week abortion ban, 70 percent of conflicted respondents said they were in favor of the measure, along with 30 percent of respondents who gave pro-abortion rights responses to both questions and 89 percent of those who gave anti-abortion responses to both,” according to the Huffington Post.
The new poll from the Huffington Post, which goes out of its way to make sure readers know where it stands on abortion, seems to prove that banning abortions after five months of pregnancy is certainly not an “extreme” position in America.
However, that’s exactly how HuffPost has repeatedly described the proposed abortion legislation in Texas that would do exactly that. Here’s the site’s headline from Thursday:
Huffington Post Abortion Poll Shows Wide Support for Ban After 20 Weeks of Pregnancy
(Huffington Post)
Headlines on the website have routinely praised pro-abortion lawmakers like Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, while blasting Texas Republicans as “extreme” for supporting the contentious pro-life bill in the Lone Star State. Many other states currently have similar restrictions.
The Texas Senate was poised to cast a final vote on tough new abortion restrictions after a committee approved the measure Thursday, and top Republicans and Democrats acknowledged there is little to stop it from becoming law this time.
The bill would ban abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, require that the procedure be performed at ambulatory surgical centers, and mandate that doctors who perform abortions obtain admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles.
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst scheduled the vote for Friday afternoon, less than two weeks after the GOP-led Senate failed to finish work on the bill during a chaotic end to the first special session. Senators were expected to offer amendments and debate the virtues and dangers of imposing some of the toughest abortion restrictions in the country.
It could be Saturday morning before senators actually cast their votes if debate lingers through the night.
If passed Friday, the bill immediately goes to Gov. Rick Perry for his signature. Perry has made the bill a priority, calling two special legislative sessions to pass it.

Editor’s note: “The HuffPost/YouGov poll was conducted June 27-28 among 1,000 adults using a sample selected from YouGov’s opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population. Factors considered include age, race, gender, education, employment, income, marital status, number of children, voter registration, time and location of Internet access, interest in politics, religion and church attendance.”

Mom Gets Her Guns Back

We wrote about a New Jersey mom who went to a tax tribunal and ended up losing her guns. (The post is: We, the Citizens, Work For Government  March 12, 2013).  The good news is that she is getting back her guns and only has to pay $100 fine instead facing the large fines and potential major misdemeanor or felony charges. The even better news, she is getting her guns back. And the best news is that she is going to sue the pants off the bureaucrat who lied to police and making her life "hell on earth."

Maybe we all should start standing up for our rights and letting these pencil necked geeks know that they work for us and not the other way around. Way to go Eileen!

REALLY GOOD NEWS FOR NJ MOM WHO WAS PRESSURED TO TURN IN ALL HER GUNS FOLLOWING TAX ASSEMBLY DISPUTE

NJ Mom Charged With Making Terrorist Threats Gets Her Guns Back, Suing for Defamation
(Photo courtesy of the Hart family)
Eileen Hart, the New Jersey mother who was arrested and pressured to turn over her guns over a dispute at a local tax meeting has been ordered to pay a $100 fine for causing a disturbance. She will not be hit with any felony or misdemeanor charges, bringing an end to an ordeal the mother described as “hell on earth.
Further, a court has ordered police to return all of her firearms.
Hart, an orthodox Jew and mother of a 7-year-old daughter, told TheBlaze on Monday that she will be meeting with a defamation lawyer to prepare a lawsuit against the tax company representative that called the cops and accused her of making “terroristic threats.”
“I will be filing lawsuit against Andrew Colavecchio and Appraisal Systems, Inc. for slander and defamation of character, but I got my guns back,” she said.
Hart said she is suing to “regain my good name and reputation.” She also said the past few months have been “hell on earth.”
“I have to start all over again to restore my reputation. He ruined me,” Hart added. “[Colavecchio] said that I made ‘terroristic threats’ against him, he lied to the police and he filed false threats of terrorism.”
Hart told TheBlaze she plans to pick up her guns early Tuesday morning.
The incident in question occurred in March at the Gloucester Community Center where she, along with her husband and daughter, went to dispute a mandatory home re-evaluation that would roughly double her property value and increase her property taxes significantly.
After some arguing back and forth, Hart alleges that Colavecchio, of Appraisal Systems, Inc., advanced toward her as if he were going to grab her arm. Hart was order to leave the public forum and officials threatened to call the police.
After calling Colavecchio a “little pencil pusher,” Hart said he threatened to call 911 and ran after her in the parking lot “like a banshee.”
When she got home, her place was crawling with police cars. She was accused of “yelling and screaming” and threatening to return to the meeting with a gun.
Hart has maintained her innocence and previously told TheBlaze: “I did not use one curse word, I didn’t say the word gun, I didn’t swear, none of that. I aired my grievances in a public place to [tell] the government that I did not agree with what they were doing to me or to anybody else.”

Another Case Of A Gun Owner Preventing Crime

GROUP OF THUGS TARGET SEEMINGLY DEFENSELESS WOMAN — THEY HAD NO IDEA SHE HAD BEEN FREQUENTING THE GUN RANGE

A group of thugs figured it would be easy to overpower one Kansas City woman. After all, her husband had just left to run an errand, leaving her all alone in the home.
They couldn’t have been more wrong.
The woman, later identified as Shirley Roberts, 52, immediately retrieved her gun after she heard someone jiggle the knob of the front door. She also witnessed two additional men heading to the back door.
Looking through the blinds, Roberts saw the men putting on gloves and preparing to force their way into her home. So she trained her firearm on the men and opened fire.

The criminals, scared silly, reportedly took off running. However, they also fired shots toward the house they attempted to break into.
Robert’s husband, Oscar Roberts, later said he and his wife have been going to the gun range to prepare for just that type of situation. “You’ve got to protect yourself,” he told KMBC-TV.
“I told her she’d done the right thing. We practiced that. She’s shook up, though. That’s the only thing about it, she’s very shook up,” Oscar added.
The practice at the shooting range seemingly paid off as police later arrested three men who went to the Research Medical Center, one of which was treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police said the shooting seems to be justifiable self-defense.
“If you’re in fear for your life, most definitely we want you to protect yourself. We don’t want any harm to come to anyone,” Sgt. Marisa Barnes of the Kansas City Police Department told KMBC-TV.

Questions For The Benghazi Investigators

HERE ARE THE 5 KEY THINGS TO TAKE AWAY FROM WEDNESDAY’S BENGHAZI HEARING

Here Are the 5 Key Things to Take Away From Wednesdays Benghazi Hearing
Gregory Hicks (C), Foreign Service Officer and former Deputy Chief of Mission/Charge d’Affairs in Libya, speaks while Mark Thompson (L), acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism at the US State Department, and Eric Nordstrom, Diplomatic Security Officer and former US State Department Regional Security Officer in Libya, listen during a hearing of the House Committee On Oversight and Government Reform on Capitol Hill May 8, 2013 in Washington, DC. Three Benghazi whistleblowers appeared before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday to shed some light on the deadly terrorist attack that claimed the lives of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, State Department official Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.
Several stunning revelations were made throughout the hearing, however, there were a few things that stood out.
Here are the five key things to take away from Wednesday’s Benghazi hearing:
5. STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL FINGERED TERROR GROUP DAY AFTER ATTACK

One of the biggest points of contention in the Benghazi investigation has been: Why did the Obama administration initially blame the terrorist attack on a YouTube video when there was no apparent evidence to support that theory?
During the House Oversight Committee hearing on the Benghazi attack, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.)read from an email sent by Beth Jones, the acting assistant secretary for Middle Eastern affairs at the State Department, to Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks and other top administration officials. In it, she fingered Ansar al-Sharia, a radical Islamic terror group, as the perpetrator behind the attack after the Libyan government speculated that they might be ex-Gadhafi forces.
The email was sent the day after the attack on Sept. 12, 2012 — well before the Obama administration started pushing the YouTube video narrative.
“I spoke to the Libyan ambassador and emphasized the importance of Libyan leaders continuing to make strong statements,” the email read. “When he said his government expected that former Ghadafi regime elements carried out the attacks, I told him that the group that conducted the attacks, Ansar al-Sharia, is affiliated with Islamic terrorists.”
Gowdy said the email was previously unreleased, but not classified.
4. WHO IS LT. COL. GIBSON?

Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks repeatedly brought up a man by the name of Lt. Col. Gibson. Other than the fact that he was a Special Operations Command (SOC) Africa commander, we don’t know much else about him.
But more importantly, we don’t know what else he knows about the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2012. On the night of the Benghazi attack, Gibson was “furious” when a stand down order was given, preventing Special Forces from intervening in Libya, Hicks testified.
Hicks said Gibson wanted to bring the Americans trapped in Benghazi home, but was unable to act. Does Gibson know who personally issued the stand down order? Does he know how far up the chain of command the order originated?
These are questions to keep in mind as the investigation proceeds.
3. BENGHAZI WITNESS TOLD NOT TO SPEAK WITH CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATOR ALONE

Hicks on Wednesday also revealed that he was told by Obama administration officials not to talk with Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) unsupervised.
A State Department lawyer accompanied the delegation and tried to be in every single meeting he was involved in, Hicks claimed.
Chaffetz, who traveled to Benghazi after the attack to investigate, also claimed back in October that the administration assigned a State Department attorney to follow him in his every “footstep” during his investigative trip.
2. WHISTLEBLOWER ‘EFFECTIVELY DEMOTED’ AFTER QUESTIONING BENGHAZI TALKING POINTS

Gregory Hicks told members of Congress that he has been “effectively demoted” from his position as deputy chief of mission shortly after he questioned United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice’s explanation that the Benghazi attack was the result of a spontaneous protest sparked by a YouTube video.
Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission under murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, now holds the title of foreign affairs officer in the Office of Global Intergovernmental Affairs.
“In hindsight I think it began after I asked a question about Ambassador Rice’s statement on the TV shows,” Hicks said, after being asked what the “seminal” moment had been in all of his new professional criticism.
1. THERE WAS A STAND DOWN ORDER

Though some the details are still fuzzy, someone issued a stand down order that prevented Special Forces from traveling to Benghazi to intervene after the attack.
Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission for the U.S. in Libya and the highest ranking official in the country at the time of the Benghazi attacks, testified that either AFRICOMM or SOCAFRICA issued the stand down order, though he didn’t have a name or where the command originated.
Hicks said Lt. Col. Gibson, a Special Operations Command (SOC) Africa commander, was “furious” after receiving the stand down order. “Lt. Col. Gibson was furious. I had told him to go bring our people home. That’s what he wanted to do,” he said.
However, the burning question remains: Who, with the appropriate authority, actually gave the stand down order? And why?T

Shotgun vs. Baseball Bat -Wonder What Happenned

INTRUDER WITH A BASEBALL BAT VS. TEXAS MAN WITH A SHOTGUN — HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED

Midland, Texas Man Shoots, Kills Home Intruder Armed With Baseball Bat
(FILE)
A man in Midland, Texas shot and killed an intruder who attempted to break into his residence on Tuesday night, the Midland Reporter-Telegram reports. The intruder was armed with a baseball bat.
Police in Midland responded to the shooting at around midnight on Tuesday where they found 32-year-old Samuel Pompa with a shotgun wound to the chest. He was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to a press release from the city’s public information officer.
Police say Pompa tried to break into the residence of a 19-year-old who was living in a different unit but at the same address as him. It was likely an apartment complex, however, the reports did not confirm that.
The victim in the case told police that he used his shotgun to protect himself and others in his residence after Pompa tried to gain entry armed with a baseball bat. Police have not arrested anyone in connection with Pompa’s death.
“An autopsy will be conducted, and after it is completed the case will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office,” the Reporter-Telegram adds.
