When they weren’t busy fretting over how Donald Trump’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” would turn out, the mainstream media spent most of the weekend dissecting the nuances of Ben Carson’s personal story.

Did he really have an epiphany that helped steer him away from violence and poverty? Was he really even a “bad” kid? Was he really offered a scholarship to West Point? Did he really even say, in so many words, that Gen. William Westmoreland ever offered him one?

One thing’s for sure: If the answers to these not-so-burning questions are never known, it won’t be for a lack of probing. And that’s something that can’t be said for President Barack Obama, who has fabricated, embellished or given conflicting accounts of significant portions of his own personal narrative. Seven years into his presidency, there’s much about the man we don’t know — and that the media, so assiduous in parsing Carson’s past, has enthusiastically avoided finding out.

“What are cases in the past when President Obama misstated points about his biography, but the media did not cause a national firestorm or characterize him as a pathological liar?” Independent Journal’s Kyle Becker asked Sunday.

Becker surfed the Internet and came up with nine examples. He elaborates on each one at the link, but we’ll just bullet-point them and leave you with a question: How many more can you name?

Barack Obama is a very opinionated guy.

He doesn’t take things at face value. He looks deeper into issues than most people. He sees things ordinary, less-gifted people miss.

Take, for instance, ISIS.

The rest of the world – Muslim, non-Muslim – look at this Satanic, bloodthirsty army of rapists, sadists, barbarous mass-murdering terrorists who quote Muhammad and praise Allah and seek to impose Shariah law and see Islamists.

Obama sees something else.

They can’t be Muslims, he says. Because Islam is a religion of peace.

Obama cites examples of professing Christians in history who perverted their faith and committed cruel and unspeakable crimes in the name of God while lecturing today’s Christians not to get up on their high horse in condemning the acts of ISIS.

But here’s the part I don’t understand: Did Obama exculpate today’s Christians of any guilt for the crimes of those who proceeded them a thousand years ago or 500 years ago or 200 years ago? Did he suggest those who committed atrocities during the Crusades and the Inquisition and slavery were not truly Christian because Christianity is “a religion of peace”?

This is where it gets confusing for me. Because I didn’t hear Obama say that. In fact, for all the times he has insisted without equivocation that Islam is a “religion of peace” and without referencing even once the 1,300 years of Muslim conquest by the sword, I can’t recall him ever feeling the need to characterize Christianity as “a religion of peace.” Instead, he chose to associate Christianity with the most evil deeds of those in the church’s darkest hours.

Is this an oversight?

Also, has he ever once attempted to deny a professing Christian his or her right to call himself one?

 

I keep going back to Obama’s own professed Christian beliefs, adopted, we’re told, during 20 years sitting at the feet of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, close friend and associate of Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam – the “pastor” he was forced to repudiate publicly after the world got to see and hear his shocking and vitriolic condemnations of America, “the Jews,” the Zionists, the “illegal” and “genocidal” state of Israel, among other outrages.

When I questioned the sincerity and depth of Obama’s Christian beliefs, many criticized me. Some said, “He calls himself a Christian – that ends the discussion.”

Maybe that’s right.

But if it’s right, isn’t it equally correct to allow those who profess Islam as their faith to simply take their word for it – especially if they are well-schooled in their beliefs?

I wonder what basis Obama has for questioning the religious zeal of those who call themselves Muslims? Who is he to judge? Is he an authority on Islam? What makes him so? In short, what is it that he knows about the history of Islam that causes him to repeat ad nauseam that it is a “religion of peace”?

Here’s what concerns me: Obama has made many claims since he entered public life. In his early life in politics, before anyone had really taken the notion of “same-sex marriage” seriously, he was already a proponent of it. Then, when he ran for president, he said he was opposed to it and believed God ordained marriage as an institution between one man and one woman. Then, when the “same-sex marriage” idea became more popular, he decided he favored it after all.

He told Americans with a straight face during a presidential campaign that his national health-care plan would allow them to keep their doctor, keep their health insurance and that their premiums would drop by thousands of dollars a year. He knew that was wrong, but he said it any way to get elected.

In other words, Obama lies. I could cite countless examples of convenient, politically motivated lies he has told in seeking office and while in office.

Which raises the question, “Why would anyone believe anything Obama says?” Does he mean it when he says Islam is “a religion of peace”? Or does he say it because it serves his political purpose. And why does he say it repeatedly when Muslims are publicly executing Christians because of their faith – beheading them in videos they proudly release to the public?

Why doesn’t he talk about the faith of those victims? Why do his public statements not reflect compassion for the Jews who were murdered by Muslims in France? Why doesn’t he refer to their faith – especially their peaceful faith?

It’s very strange indeed.

Perhaps Obama’s knowledge of Islam is limited to his own experience as a youth living in Indonesia when he attended an Islamic school and found the shahada – the Muslim call to prayer – “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

I believe if someone knew what that call has meant in Islam’s bloody history of genocide and forced conversion right up to this moment, they might think twice about saying that.

But that’s just me, I guess.

Then again, anyone who could sit in the pew at Wright’s church for two decades and fail to grasp the offensiveness, the vile anti-Semitism, the hatred of America and the racist nature of his pastor, anything is possible, I suppose. Maybe he just sees the best in people. Maybe he’s just smarter than all the rest of us.

Or, maybe he’s just a liar who will say anything and do anything to get his way – no matter the consequences to others.

There’s a lot of competition for Barack Obama’s biggest lie. The man who could assure the American public with a straight face over thirty times that they could keep their doctor under his health plan, when he knew that to be completely false, is one hellluva fibber.

But execrable as that serial prevarication may have been, it doesn’t hold a proverbial candle to his most recent whopper — that the Islamic State is not Islamic — not to mention its corollary, or perhaps subsidiary lie, that real religions do not indulge in murder.  Islam has been doing that pretty much straight through for fourteen centuries, both outwardly toward Christians and Jews, and inwardly in its unresolved pathological conflict between its Sunni and Shiite strains that continues, as the world well knows, to this day and undoubtedly into the foreseeable future, spewing an uncountable number of corpses as it goes.

The Islamic State is not only Islamic, it is the very paradigm of Islam, Islam distilled to its essence as practiced by Mohammed, massacring local tribes, raping and enslaving their women, and making war against everyone in his way until he had subdued as much of Arabia as possible.  Who knows how many beheadings were involved, but can we assume the total significantly outstrips the Islamic State’s, at least for now ?  Islam is far from the only violent religion — almost all have had their moments — but it is unquestionably the most unremittingly so.  If Islam is said to have been hijacked, it is not by the thugs of the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, al Qaeda, al Nusra, Ansar al Islam, Ansar al Sharia, al Shabaab, Boko Haram, Jemaah Islamiyah, Hamas, Hezbollah and on and on.  They are the true practitioners of the faith, following in the footsteps of Mohammed and obeying the prescriptions of the Koran and the Hadith to make the whole world Islamic or else. They don’t need to communicate with each other.  They just  do their thing, because the playbook has been written for them and they have studied it well.  It is they who have been temporarily hijacked by a few whirling pacifistic Sufis or other moderate outliers before getting down to the unfinished  business of finally crashing through the Gates of Vienna or defeating Charles Martel at Toulouse and returning Al Andaluz to its rightful owners.  As one will recall, that was the stated intention of the al Qaeda maniacs who blew up the train at Madrid’s Atocha station just a few years ago.

But most of us know this.  It couldn’t be more evident, even to Barack Obama.  But he chose to lie about it at the very moment innocent men were being beheaded in the name of Allah.  This can’t be the real Islam that is doing this said our president,  our secretary of State,  and their loyal claque at the State Department who would be outraged at  Israel if it so much as sprained a Palestinian kid’s ankle  but could barely pronounce the word Islam if the Islamic Republic of Iran dropped an atom bomb on Philadelphia and killed a quarter of a million people.  It would just be another instance of “work place violence,” maybe of a slightly extended sort with a globalist overlay.

So everybody in our administration, and even most of our military, seems to lie these days, but the source of the lies comes from the top, POTUS.  He governs our land where the truth dare not be uttered, the enemy never named.  We all know we’re in a civilizational war with Islam, have been for quite some time and likely to be for a lot longer, but our officials and our mainstream media will do everything possible not to admit it.  They assume, I guess, if we tell the Islamic world they’re peaceful often enough, they will become it.  That’s the most optimistic view of it.  The pessimistic view is that a number of our leaders and media want us to lose.  Either way we’re in a pack of trouble.

Most of us first met President Barack Obama’s uncle, Onyango Obama, back in 2011. At the time, Onyango found himself in a scrape with the authorities in Framingham, Mass., following a drunken jaunt behind the wheel of his SUV. By the time Framingham’s finest managed to drag Uncle Onyango to the station, his blood alcohol level had subsided to a mere .14 — just a bit under double the legal limit. And then, the real fun began. As it turned out, not only was Uncle Onyango behind the wheel illegally, he was in the United States illegally. Much like the President’s Aunt Zeituni Onyango, who eventually “earned” asylum, Onyango Obama was an illegal alien.
These days, Onyango is still here, somehow securing his own stay of deportation despite his criminal record and the fact that he dodged immigration authorities for nearly two decades before the boys in blue popped him on the DUI charge. According to what little press coverage there has been on the wayward first uncle, Uncle Onyango told arresting officers that 2011 night, “I think I will call the White House.” It’s possible that was the booze talking; because the White House not only didn’t acknowledge taking Uncle Onyango’s call, but chief Barack Obama mouthpiece Jay Carney told reporters that his boss expected no special treatment for his drunken relative. In fact, the President did everything short of an extraordinary rendition to distance himself from his Uncle Onyango.
What confuses me is not that President Obama has an uncle who occasionally makes him wince. Onyango Obama is hardly the first first relative to flit across the headlines over the years. There is no “Uncle O’s Kenyan Lager” to compete with “Billy Beer.” The first daughters have never tried to buy hooch at the Gas’n’Go while their Secret Service detail lingered uncomfortably on the sidewalk. And I’m fairly certain Uncle Onyango hasn’t tried to lobby his nephew for any Presidential pardons for drug convictions.
What confuses me is why Barack Obama lied when asked about his Uncle Onyango’s adventures in driving. In November 2011, just a couple months after Onyango Obama’s arrest, the White House claimed the President had never met the uncle to whom he referred in one of his oddly premature memoirs as “Uncle Omar.” And then, last week, Uncle Onyango embarrassed his nephew again. According to Onyango Obama, the President lived with his uncle while a student at Harvard Law School. And the reason for the latest ever-changing story from the White House strains credulity to the breaking point. The Boston Globe reported:

On Thursday, a White House official said the press office had not fully researched the relationship between the president and his uncle before telling the Globe that they had no record of the two meeting. This time, the press office asked the president directly, which they had not done in 2011.

The Obama White House denied any meeting between the two men, without bothering to ask Obama. If you believe that, I have $30 million dollars waiting in Nairobi. Let me transfer it through your bank account, and I’ll give you 10 percent. Honest!
The truth is: Uncle Onyango hardly qualifies as all that big a deal. Nearly every family has a resident Uncle Onyango. Most of us simply keep him away from the liquor cabinet. If he’s particularly unappealing, we send him a lovely card at Christmastime and cross our fingers that he doesn’t roll into the driveway unannounced like Uncle Eddie from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Most of us handle troublesome relatives that way, but not President Obama. Confronted with a vexing relative, Barack Obama automatically defaulted to dishonesty. Barack Obama lied. Barack Obama always lies. He lied about Obamacare. He lied about Benghazi. He lied about Operation Fast and Furious. He lied about raising taxes on the middle class. And he even lied about poor Uncle Onyango. If Barack Obama were just another liquor store clerk, his lying would be creepy and sad. But Barack Obama is the President of the United States. When Barack Obama lies, people die.
