Is She Foolish Or Part Of A Larger Plan?

After the shut down of the Keystone and Colonial pipelines, Democrats are moving to close another oil and gas pipeline in Michigan.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered a Canadian energy company to close its Line 5 pipeline that has a segment running through Michigan.

“Line 5 delivers nearly half of the oil needs of both Ontario and Quebec, as well as propane for the state of Michigan,” reported The Guardian. “Earlier this month, Canada’s natural resources minister said the continued operation of the pipeline was ‘non-negotiable’ and warned that in addition to thousands of job losses, a shutdown would require 800 tanker rail cars and 2,000 trucks each day to move oil.”

Ironically, Canadian officials are pushing back on Whitmer’s order to shut the pipeline down by May 12, and she doesn’t have the authority to do so according to the 1977 Transit Pipelines Treaty between Canada and the United States.

“Regardless of what the state of Michigan may or may not want to do, the treaty is binding on the United States as a whole,” international trade lawyer Lawrence Herman said. “It’s a matter between the two governments: Canada and the United States.”

By shutting down another pipeline, Democrats like Whitmer are moving America closer to a post-industrial world with reduced energy and manufacturing capacity – and a lower standard of living for all.

A glimpse of this was seen during the Texas ice storm in February in which residents lived with little to no power for weeks.

The end goal is to de-industrialize the US, which is why activists like Greta Thunberg never lecture India or China about their energy use.

Whitmer claimed the segment of Line 5 in question, which crosses under the Straits of Mackinac, was a “ticking time bomb” for an oil spill.

“The company says it has never experienced a leak in the underwater section of Line 5 and is currently working to tunnel beneath the lake bed to further improve the safety of the pipeline,” the newspaper added.

Astute observers would note that Whitmer, who notoriously ignored her own Covid-19 lockdown orders to vacation in Florida, isn’t entirely motivated by environmental concerns given that the pipeline shutdown would lead to the oil being inefficiently transported by thousands of trucks each day.

The cost, of course, would be passed on to Michigan residents.

Joe Biden’s Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reauthorized $235 million in U.S. aid to the Palestinians just weeks before their terrorist group Hamas recently launched a massive attack against Israel.

The assistance package, announced by Blinken on April 7, calls for $150 million through the United Nations relief agency UNRWA, $75 million in U.S. economic and development assistance and $10 million for peace-building programs.

“U.S. foreign assistance for the Palestinian people serves important U.S. interests and values. It provides critical relief to those in great need, fosters economic development, and supports Israeli-Palestinian understanding, security coordination and stability,” Blinken said in a statement.

“It also aligns with the values and interests of our allies and partners.  The United States is committed to advancing prosperity, security, and freedom for both Israelis and Palestinians in tangible ways in the immediate term, which is important in its own right, but also as a means to advance towards a negotiated two-state solution.”

Just a month later, Palestinian Islamic terror group Hamas launched over 1000 rockets into Israel, killing dozens.

One Qassam rocket costs about $800, so the most recent massive assault cost Hamas about $800,000 so far.

This renewed hot war between Israel and the Palestinians is also showing no signs of letting up.

President Trump had cut $200 million in U.S. aid to Palestinians in Gaza in 2018 to redirect the funds for more “high-priority projects elsewhere.”

Israel Tells Biden Administration to Mind Its Own Business as Police Clash with Palestinian Rioters at Temple Mount

As waves of rockets descend upon Israeli cities, Israel has urged the Biden administration not to add waves of condemnation as well.

Violence escalated rapidly over the weekend and continuing into the week, beginning with Palestinian riots and clashes with security forces at the Temple Mount and ending with Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as a form of retribution for massive rocket attacks on southern Israel that included targets in Jerusalem.

Rocket fire from Hamas militants in Gaza continued overnight as what had been weeks of rising tensions exploded into an ever-widening crisis.

On Tuesday, Haaretz was reporting that over 250 rockets had been fired into Israel and that 140 targets were hit in Gaza by Israeli forces.

Two Israelis were killed in a rocket attack on Ashkelon, it reported, while Israel claimed it had killed the leader of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit. Estimates of deaths in Gaza varied widely, with at least 20 people reported killed.

Amid calls for the Biden administration to intervene, Israel said that the opposite strategy was the right approach.

Should the U.S. intervene in this conflict?

On Sunday, Israeli National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat reportedly told U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan that the U.S. and international community should stay out of the tensions between Palestinian protesters and Israel that boiled over on Monday, with Palestinian rioters throwing stones and barricading themselves inside Temple Mount buildings, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Ben-Shabbat said “international intervention is a reward to the Palestinian rioters and those who back them who were seeking international pressure on Israel,” according to Axios, which cited “an Israeli official briefed on the call.”

He said Israel will handle its affairs “from a position of sovereignty and responsibility regardless of Palestinian provocations,” according to Axios.

If the international community wished to do something useful, “they should put pressure on the inciting elements on the Palestinian side, the Israeli official said,” the outlet reported.

International interference would be “a prize for the rioters and those sending them who hoped to put pressure on Israel,” Ben-Shabbat also said, according to The Times of Israel.

Neither side seemed ready to stop.

“We fired rockets at Ashkelon following an Israeli attack and an attack on a house west of Gaza City,” The Washington Post quoted a spokesman for Hamas as saying.

“If Israel continues to attack, we will turn Ashkelon into hell.”

Speaking to envoys from the European Union, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin defended his nation’s response to the violence.

“Yesterday Jerusalem was attacked. Since rockets have been shot at our cities, and thousands of children are with their parents in bomb shelters. No country in the world would accept this situation. We will take all necessary steps to defend our citizens,” he said.

Israel’s army has its “foot on the gas,” and will step up attacks on Gaza, Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Hidai Zilberman said.

Its Proven--Conservatives Are Better Than Liberals

 Commentary

Studies: Conservatives Treat People More Equally Than Liberals Do

The findings of multiple recent studies show conservatives may actually treat people more equally than liberals, despite what the left desperately tries to portray.

In a February blog post on Psychology Today, author Cory Clark reported on the findings of experiments that tested the way people treat others based on their political ideology. The studies largely suggested liberals treat people more unequally than conservatives on the basis of gender, race and more.

“[T]wo sets of studies by two different research teams found that participants evaluated science on sex differences more favorably when women were portrayed more favorably than men (as better drawers and less prone to lying and as more intelligent) than when men were portrayed more favorably than women,” Clark wrote.

In each of those studies, the reactions were stronger in liberal participants.

Another study revealed liberals would typically “amplify the successes of female and Black athletes” instead of those of white and male athletes. Meanwhile, conservatives would treat both successes similarly.

One study suggested white liberals also “presented less self-competence” when interacting with black people as opposed to white people, while white conservatives treated both parties similarly.

Liberals, in another study, were also shown to want to censor texts portraying “low-status groups” poorly as opposed to texts portraying “high-status groups” poorly, while conservatives treated both more equally.

Liberals in one study were also found to offer more forgiving acceptance criteria to black students applying to enter honor societies as opposed to white students.

As Clark concluded, the results of these studies “may lead one to wonder whether the relationships between ideology and egalitarianism are more complicated than certain mainstream narratives suggest.”

Are conservatives more equality-minded than liberals?

And yet, the studies Clark cited seem to have already answered this question.

Conservatives, by and large, are often Christian. According to the Pew Research Center, 85 percent of conservatives in the United States belong to some denomination of Christianity, while 70 percent of conservatives place extremely strong importance on religion.

It makes sense, then, that the children of Christian conservatives would learn about and place strong importance on values like Biblical equality, where the responses in these studies could have easily stemmed from.

These studies also demonstrate something that has become more and more apparent as the left becomes more and more extreme — leftists don’t actually want equality. They want supremacy.

Liberals, as these studies show, display their warped view of equality by making minorities, the poor, and women “more equal” than white people, men, and the rich.

And yet, this is what the mainstream media has convinced so many to believe is true equality.

Unfortunately, though, these studies and others like them will likely fall on deaf ears. Liberals, being the “equality” crusaders they are, will likely dismiss them as another part of the racist machine they find so prevalent in the United States.

Meanwhile, conservatives will be encouraged by the findings.

While liberals will continue to push their thinly-veiled racism, conservatives will move forward treating others as they would have others treat them, echoing the Biblical command given to Christians in Matthew 7:12.
