Television star Jussie Smollett became the center of attention across America after his alleged hate crime attack was revealed to be a hoax.
Similarly, Americans were outraged when the Cook County District Attorney, Kim Foxx, decided to drop all criminal charges on Smollett.
But there’s a rumor circulating the internet that the whole incident goes even deeper — and that Smollett was just one piece of a “Deep State” political puzzle.
Joe Hoft of The Gateway Punditclaims there’s evidence to suggest that the Smollett incident is connected to two 2020 presidential hopefuls — namely Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. and Cory Booker, D-N.J. Hoft says the two congresspeople knew that Smollett was lying about his lynching hoax from the start.
In his controversial piece, Hoft suggests they might’ve all worked together to fake the crime.
Harris and Booker had been working at the time on a bill entitled “Justice for Victims of Lynching Act of 2018.” It had been passed in Senate on Dec. 19, 2018 and was waiting for a vote in the House.
But it needed public support.
Insert Smollett, who had met with both Harris and Booker about the bill before staging his fake crime hoax.
Hoft claims this is no coincidence.
“The timeline of these conversations (December 21-January 18, 2019) suggests that the death threat letter he sent himself (January 22-23) and his staged attack (January 29), were timed to create an opinion groundswell to support the bill and prop the political and professional career of the three masterminds,” Hoft wrote.
It wasn’t just Smollett that met with with bill’s authors around this time either.
On Jan. 21, 2019 Sen. Harris, and Kim Foxx — the district attorney whose controversial decision it was to drop charges against Smollett for falsely reporting a crime — were seen taking a photo together… just 8 days before the so-called hate crime took place.
Smollett was “attacked” on Jan. 29, just eight days later.
Immediately after, Harris and Booker both jumped to use the incident to gain public support for their bill.
Sens. Harris and Booker both tweeted about the attack on social media just hours after the incident came to light and both called what happened a “modern day lynching.”
Hoft claims this is no coincidence.
Hoft says this is all evidence shows the hate crime hoax could’ve been a part of the Democrats’ “Deep State” corruption all along.
Critics say the conspiracy theory is based on nothing but coincidence and circumstantial evidence.
Corey Booker says the World Must Turn Vegan Like Him

Senator Cory Booker appears to come from the same clan of crazy-eyed socialists as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). Both of them have off the wall ideas that could never work, and a messiah complex. Worse still, both of them want to impose their half-baked morality on you.
AOC wants to force Americans to pay for universal income for people who don’t want to work (umm isn’t that all of us? Aren’t we all just doing it for the money???), and to build a global high-speed rail system in order to eliminate all those awful cars and airplanes. Even high ranking Dems have looked at her New Green Deal and dismissed it as the work of a kook.
Not to be out-crazied, Cory Booker—who missed all the backlash from the New Green Deal even though he co-sponsored that crazy train with AOC—has come out with his Vegan New Deal. Just kidding, he didn’t call it that. But he should. The Democrat senator from New Jersey kicked off his 2020 campaign for the White House by saying that anyone who eats meat is going to have their dinners yanked out from in front of them. Yoink!
Booker believes that the meat industry is ruining the climate. How, you ask? Cow farts. He says he hasn’t touched any non-vegan food since Election Day in 2014. So, if he’s not misremembering then it would seem that Booker’s personal life revolves around election cycles.
He claims that the dairy industry, the part related in particular to cows, is the biggest offender. He says, “The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact. It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does… because we just don’t have enough land.”
He says that if the rest of the world, China and Africa in particular (for some reason), gets a taste for the western diet- the world will be in serious trouble. We don’t know how to break it to him, but McDonald’s is already international.
Booker wants to redesign the entire agricultural industry. He said that one of his major campaign promises will be, “to continue supporting bills that are about public health, whether it is pumping in all these antibiotics into animals that are literally threatening the safety of Americans.”
Booker isn’t wrong when he says that industrial agricultural methods like pumping cows full of antibiotics are not good for the people who drink the affected milk and eat the affected meat. These and other methods make it easier for farmers to produce more meat and milk while lowering the quality of those products.
Among the side effects of consuming these products are reduced immune function, altered hormonal cycles, and the development of drug resistant bacteria. But the answer isn’t telling Americans that they can’t eat meat.
In fact, the answer is already in place. At most grocery stores, people can buy grass-fed, organic cow milk and hamburger meat. It’s more expensive, but that’s not because the natural dairy products are over priced. They are priced appropriately for products grown in the natural, non-accelerated way.
Industrial farming methods are less healthy. But they make food cheaper making it more accessible to the poor. At this point, Booker might say everyone has a right to better quality food. And he may be correct, but just because you have a right to have something does not make it readily available. By overthrowing the existing food infrastructure Booker would cast millions of people into food poverty.
But Booker isn’t backing down. He has lent his support to the Green New Deal, which is estimated to cost upwards of $100 trillion and takes aim at such evils as combustion powered vehicles, bovine flatulence, and racism. Seriously.
If Booker had his brain plugged in straight, he would be working to make Americans more prosperous so that they could afford grass fed cow meat and other organic agriculture products. But this soy boy isn’t interested in humans flourishing. It’s interested in relegating Americans to cubical housing and an anemic diet.
When asked if he would ever consider going back to eating animal products he told VegNews magazine, “I am Spartacus.”
The Green New Deal, a far-left agenda that would require the government to become heavily involved in job creation and renewable energy development, is fast becoming mainstream as Democrats in search of a catchy slogan embrace the concept as their own.
Sen. Cory Booker, who is reportedly seriously considering a presidential run, has now formally embraced the Green New Deal as part of his platform. Naturally, his move has garnered considerable praise as activists and mainstream media news outlets alike fawn over the senator’s new progressive stance.
The Sunrise Movement and Justice Democrats alike are overjoyed that a senior Democrat would support their position, and are actively pushing for other Democrats in the Senate and House of Representatives to follow suit. However, those who have had a close look at the Green New Deal will be alarmed to see that there is a lot more to it than initially meets the eye.
The aspects of the Green New Deal that are getting the most attention are the proposals to end fossil fuel emissions by the year 2030, the idea of using federal funds to back green energy initiatives, and the proposal to use government funding to create eco-friendly jobs for anyone who wants one. The latter amounts to a federal Jobs guarantee that would provide workers across the United States with full-time employment that pays at least $15 an hour and includes cushy benefits such as medical insurance and paid holidays.
If this is all you know about the plan, it might sound harmless. However, the Green New Deal is in fact a four-part program, and much of it has nothing to do with combating the effects of “man-made” climate change. It includes calls for the government to provide free college, Medicare and affordable housing for all — all with no account of how much this will all cost, or if it is even really worth the taxpayer money.
The Green New Deal encourages the creation of non-profit banks and utilities while imposing strict regulations on rich corporations. The last part of the plan would abolish the Electoral College set down by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution. It also calls for the creation of a Corporation of Economic Democracy that would promote “cooperative development” and encourage government agencies, private associations and businesses to participate in “democratic reforms”. Really, this is less of a tree hugging fantasy and more of a Trojan horse for every hard-left policy that has destroyed republics in the past.
A close look reveals the Green New Deal is a plan for massive government involvement in the private sector as well as the lives of all ordinary Americans. What is more, there is no mention of who will pay for all the free stuff for everyone. The only way to pay for these massive programs would be to substantially raise taxes — and not just on the rich.
The Green New Deal is one that ordinary Americans will likely be hearing a lot about for the foreseeable future. Sen. Bernie Sanders has already embraced it along with Sen. Booker. Sen. Jeff Merkley, another Democrat who is considering a presidential run, has said he wants to create his own Green New Deal proposal should be actually run for the presidency. Sen. Kamala Harris has expressed interest in the Green New Deal, and said via a spokesperson that she supports its goals.
Should any one of these left-leaning individuals win the presidency in 2020 or afterwards, the nation could face drastic changes as government involvement in the day to day lives of every single person drastically increases in the name of “saving the planet” and “creating a secure, sustainable future.”
Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., aggressively questioned CIA Director Mike Pompeo about his views on Islam, marriage, and sexual acts. (Photo: Leigh Vogel/UPI/Newscom)
“Do you believe that gay sex is a perversion?”
Believe it or not, that question was posed—repeatedly—in a Thursday Senate confirmation hearing to Mike Pompeo, the CIA director now nominated to be secretary of state. The graphic question was put to him by Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.
He also wanted to know exactly what Pompeo thought about same-sex marriage.
Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. But this can't be done alone.Find out more >>
Booker’s line of questioning is simply astounding—and inappropriate.
He presumes, almost out of thin air, to set a new non-negotiable standard for anyone who wants to hold executive office: You must be completely on board with same-sex marriage, you must affirm gay sex, and you must espouse these convictions openly.
This kind of thought policing is becoming a trend for politicians on the left.
Last year, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., treated Russ Vought with similar hostility in his confirmation hearing to be deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget. Sanders asked Vought, a Christian, if he stood by his past statements about salvation and final judgment—then excoriated him when he refused to recant his orthodox Christian beliefs.
Booker treated Pompeo with the same inquisitorial attitude, perhaps confirming a sad new norm in the treatment of conservative nominees for executive office.
What is most striking is that Booker seems baffled by Pompeo’s refusal to accept the left’s views on sexuality. Yet, contra the attitude of the left that such views are normal, Pompeo’s views are the same as the ones countless Democrats and even President Barack Obama held until very recently.
Booker may be surprised to learn that opposition to same-sex marriage is still very much a mainstream view in America. According to a 2017 Gallup poll, about 1 in 3 Americans disagreed with same-sex marriage. That’s about 100 million people.
Perhaps Booker can be forgiven for his ignorance of this large segment of the nation, though, since so few social conservatives speak up about their views in public these days.
But more to the point of Thursday’s hearing, Pompeo’s views on marriage are completely irrelevant to the job that he seeks. At least, they should be irrelevant. Foreign policy should have nothing to do with promoting a vision of sexuality abroad, particularly one that is novel and offensive to many cultures.
Of course, this is quite separate from standing up for the basic human rights of those overseas who identify as LGBT. Some countries punish people simply because of their sexual orientation, and the United States must never condone such actions.
But unfortunately, the U.S. government has gone far beyond standing for basic human rights and has sought to advance a liberal LGBT agenda abroad.
A New Cultural Imperialism
In early 2015, the Obama State Department created a special envoy position to promote LGBT and intersex “rights” abroad. Keep in mind that at the time, same-sex marriage was not even federally recognized in the United States (Obergefell v. Hodges changed that a few months later).
This envoy’s impact abroad has not been negligible. Randy Berry, who held the post from 2015 to 2017, visited dozens of countries where he reported having “frank conversations” with leaders, pressing them to adopt more liberal laws on sexuality and marriage. He took credit for several changes in foreign countries, including Vietnam allowing a change of sex in official documents and Nepal’s new constitution adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes.
Astoundingly, the Trump administration has opted to keep this envoy position in place, even as the State Department is undergoing a massive restructuring. (Berry has, however, transitionedout of the position.)
This envoy is a most egregious form of cultural imperialism, made even more illegitimate by the fact that it misrepresents American values to the world. Same-sex marriage is an extremely recent phenomenon in American life.
It also remains an ongoing source of controversy as LGBT activists seek to wield it as a cudgel against the rights of religious Americans. We are just beginning to grapple with the consequences of same-sex marriage—so what is the State Department doing exporting it abroad?
The Purge at Home
Just as LGBT activists now seek to punish religious Americans in courts of law, liberal politicians like Booker seek to purge the remaining dissenters from polite society. In the world of Cory Booker, there is no place for Mike Pompeo—except perhaps, in a re-education class. Certainly not in the Cabinet.
This sort of social ostracization and occupational discrimination was coming, but liberals long denied it. They assured us that same-sex marriage would make the world more tolerant, that conservative holdouts would have nothing to fear, and that the progressive future would have a place for everyone.
Indeed, some liberals of yesteryear would have flinched hard at Booker’s rigid questioning of Pompeo over something as seemingly peripheral as gay sex. These liberals either failed to see just how coercive their movement would become, or they knew better and were just placating America while cultural changes gained steam—and then jumped on board the train.
Justice Samuel Alito was very prescient in his 2015 dissent to the Obergefell decision: “I assume that those who cling to old beliefs will be able to whisper their thoughts in the recesses of their homes, but if they repeat those views in public, they will risk being labeled as bigots and treated as such by governments, employers, and schools.” And, we should now add, senators.
Breaking the Public Monopoly
It is not Pompeo who went after Booker, and it is not conservatives who are going after liberals. Liberals are the aggressors in the culture war. They introduced the values of sexual libertinism that so many, like Pompeo, would prefer not to imbibe—yet somehow find the audacity to demand conformity to those values as the price of admission into mainstream institutions.
This form of coercion—and it is coercion, by public shaming—is only necessary when an idea is truly vulnerable to rational critique. The truth is, the left needs conservatives to stay silent on this issue. Booker needs Pompeo to keep his head down and at least feign approval of the left’s sexual orthodoxy. Because silence feeds the regime.
The left’s monopoly on this issue ends when conservatives, like Pompeo, begin refusing to hide their views and in fact speak up in the public square.
One-third of Americans still hold to traditional marriage. If one-third of Americans start speaking up about their views, we may find the winds of history don’t always blow in one direction.
