Ocasio-Cortez Is Dangerous. Even After Ridiculous Statements, Press Loves Her! Reminds Us Of Eva Peron

Steve Scalise hits Ocasio-Cortez with perfect response after her supporters threaten him

Her followers take 'radical' to a new level

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) had the perfect response for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) over the weekend after her supporters threatened him following a social media disagreement between the two opposing politicians.

What happened?

On Saturday, Scalise criticized Ocasio-Cortez after she told "60 Minutes" she supports a progressive tax of up to 70 percent.
In response, Ocasio-Cortez accused the senior statesman of being unaware of how marginal tax systems work. She then launched into a broadside against the Republican Party.
"Oh that's right, almost forgot: GOP works for the corporate CEOs showering themselves in multi-million bonuses; not the actual working people whose wages + healthcare they're ripping off for profit," Ocasio-Cortez said.
If Ocasio-Cortez's response wasn't enough, some of her supporters took the belligerence to the next level by threatening Scalise, who was nearly murdered last year by a Democratic terrorist.
Some of Ocasio-Cortez's supporters said:
  • "snipe his a**"
  • "Kick his cane"
  • "She's got better aim than [the Democratic terrorist who shot Scalise, nearly killing him], that's for sure."

How did Scalise respond?

He took screenshots of the vile threats and, replying to Ocasio-Cortez, said he would like to continue their tax debate on the floor of the "People's House," rather than engaging with her "radical followers."

Sequestration, We Ain't Got No Sequestration At The White House

While the Navy has cancelled the Blue Angels air show team and the White House has cancelled tours due to Sequestration, Obama and Biden have gone on luxury trips at tax payer expense. Isn't that just rosy! Talk about tin eared politicians! Or is it that they don't get it that others are suffering?

One would think that a President and Vice President who was residing over the largest increase in debt in US history and who promoted massive military cuts as well as other slashes in the budget, would be a bit circumspect when it related to leaving their Washington addresses. Not this group!  Obama flies down to play golf with Tiger Woods, all at our expense.  The VP who goes to London and Paris for two nights and spends $1 million on hotel rooms alone. This does not count the cost of the planes and other extraordinary expenses incurred when the VP goes abroad.

Maybe these guys should study a bit of history and see what happens when the people finally get disgusted with their "leaders" outrageously spending money.  Take a look at France and see what happened to Marie Antoinette  (She kinda lost her head!!) And then there is Argentina and the story of Eva and Juan Peron.

When President Harry Truman and his wife, Bess, left the White House, they drove themselves in their own car back to Missouri where they lived out their times in their own house. There was no Secret Service detail following their every step. He had a small pension and that is what they lived on.  The year was 1952.  How things have changed.

Life on top is usually  lavish but it requires those occupying these offices to be cognizant of the governed. Truman understood the little guy. Today we have a President who spends like a king who despises the little guy (he says he does but all of decisions contradict it) and makes decisions that benefit his benefactors and no one else. Truman never would have spent like the Dictator and his wife.

When there is no concern for those who are paying the bills, rebellion ALWAYS follows. History tells us this. Are we getting there in the US? We think everyday brings us closer.

Vice President Joe Biden’s one-day trips to Paris and London in February cost American taxpayers more than $1 million, according to multiple reports.

Biden and his security detail rung up a $585,000.50 tab for a single night on Feb. 4 at the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand, a luxurious five-star hotel near the Louvre Museum, The Weekly Standard reports.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail in London reports that Biden’s group spent $459,388.65 for one night on Feb. 5 at the Hyatt Regency in London, where the vice president met with Prime Minister David Cameron.

The contract for the London trip specified that Biden’s crew required 136 hotel rooms for that one-night stay, The Daily Mail reports.

Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, accompanied him to Paris on his European trip, which also included a stop in Germany.

The Mail reports that Biden’s entourage required more than 100 rooms at Le Grand. One night in the presidential suite there costs more than $3,800.

Here’s how the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand is described on its website:

“With floodlit views of the Opera House, this superbly renovated luxury hotel is at the heart of Parisian society. Opened in 1862, it defines historical grandeur, from Café de la Paix to La Verriere Restaurant, set in an 800 square metre winter garden. Elegantly appointed, the hotel’s boutique-style suites overlook stunning landmarks. Located … close to the Louvre Museum, shopping, theatre and banking districts, this luxury Paris hotel is an icon in the City of Light.”

Reaction was swift to Biden’s lavish spending.

“Still no WH tours, but VP Biden’s recent trip to Europe racked up $1mil in hotel room bills,” said U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, among dozens to vent outrage on Twitter.

Will Obama's Mistake on Contraceptive Mandating Be Critical In Upcoming Election?

The answer to the question posed by the headline, is no!.  The time between this screw up and the election is an eon in political terms. We will have moved onto other problems, concerns, Constitutional mis-steps, invasions and  wars by the time November arrives, unfortunately.

More Constitutional rights will be given up, more riots will be conducted, more illegal activities conducted by the Administration before we get to kick him and his "Eva Peron" wife out of office. That is, if the American people are any smarter than Argentina was during the Peron years.

Some of them are now suggesting that his contraceptive mandate on religious institutions was a skilled political stratagem. “I’ve found by observing this president closely for years,” argues Andrew Sullivan, “that what often seem like short-term tactical blunders turn out in the long run to be strategically shrewd. And if this was a trap, the religious right walked right into it.” Religious conservatives are now identified, he says, with “opposition to contraception.” Republicans have achieved “fusion with the Vatican.” Obama is evidently playing the very deep game.
Consider the implications of this praise. It means that Obama assaulted the core beliefs of some of his fellow citizens in order to lure them into politically self-destructive behavior. The president is willing to trifle with the constitutional rights of religious people in order to get a rise out of them. In this scenario, Obama is a Machiavellian monster, undeserving of high office.
But I don’t think Sullivan’s indictment is accurate. These events have all the hallmarks of an epic White House screw-up. The policy resulted from an internal debate in which the vice president and the chief of staff took the other side. Liberal true believers won out. The announcement was fumbled. The White House was shocked by the breadth and intensity of opposition.
It is difficult to imagine that Obama desired criticism from Democratic officeholders and candidates, including a former head of the Democratic National Committee. Or a bridge burning with Catholic bishops shortly before an election. Or a promise of civil disobedience from the most prominent evangelical pastor in America, Rick Warren.
The initial policy was a disaster. The partial retreat was more skilled. Obama’s goal was not resolution but obfuscation. (as usual). The contraceptive mandate was shifted from Catholic employers to insurance companies. Instead of being forced to buy an insurance product that violates their beliefs, religious institutions will be forced to buy an insurance product that contributes to the profits and viability of a company that is federally mandated to violate their beliefs. Creative accounting, it seems, can cover a multitude of sins.
But an indirect requirement is less aggressive and humiliating than a direct one. This has become just another in a series of business mandates under Obamacare — motivating eventual repeal instead of civil disobedience. And religious people could easily respond to overreach with overreach. Some conservatives argue that any business — not just religious hospitals and charities — should be able to withhold contraceptive coverage because of the beliefs of its owner. This is probably a bridge too far in our current cultural and political context. The defense of religious freedom unites. Opposition to contraception divides.
Obama has partially defused a crisis of his own creation. But some effects of his blunder will linger.
First, Obama has made clear who is part of his ideological coalition and who is not. Discussions on the structure and restructuring of the contraceptive policy were conducted between the administration and pro-choice and feminist groups. The people most directly affected by the mandate — particularly the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops — were not in the room. The administration engaged in no substantive consultation with Catholic bishops, who were only called to receive pronouncements. Interest group liberalism is alive and well in the Obama White House.
Second, the administration has consistently adopted and applied a view of religious liberty so narrow it imposes almost no limits on federal action. In the Hosanna-Tabor Supreme Court case, the Justice Department argued that there should be no “ministerial exception” at all — a contention the court dismissed as “amazing.” The modified contraceptive mandate still presupposes that religious liberty only applies to institutions whose primary purpose is worship, leaving every other religious institution vulnerable to future regulation.
Third, Obama has surrendered his main political appeal to religious voters from the last election — his embrace of faith-based social service providers. Any attempt to repeat this outreach will seem absurdly disconnected from reality.
Fourth, with a single miscalculation, Obama has managed to unite economic and social conservatives in outrage against government activism and energize religious conservatives in a way Mitt Romney could never manage. Culture war debates in America are evenly divided. But the objects of culture war aggression do not easily forget.
If Obama is playing a political chess game, he has just sacrificed his queen, a rook and all his bishops. It would have to be a deep game indeed.
