Unbiased Reporting? There Is NONE!

MEDIA BIAS: CNN Deploys Valerie Jarrett’s Daughter To Cover Trump Justice Department

In yet another indicator that the mainstream media is rife with corruption and
conflicts of interest, CNN has now hired Laura Jarrett, daughter of Valerie
Jarrett, to cover President Trump’s Department of Justice. As The Blaze reports,
CNN touted Jarrett’s background defending “companies and individuals in
government investigations brought by the Justice Department.”
Valerie Jarrett wasn’t just President Obama’s top advisor. She’s also personally
close to the Obamas to the extent that she’s reportedly moving in with them
in their new Washington, D.C. digs. Jarrett called Trump’s election a “punch in
the stomach…soul-crushing.” According to Vanity Fair, Laura Jarrett is
dedicated to “promoting civil rights and social equality for women and minorities.”
i
So she’s probably going to be completely objective about covering the Trump
Administration.
This is nothing new from the mainstream media-Democratic Party complex.
Ben Rhodes, the National Security Advisor to President Obama who actively
lied to the entire media about the Iran deal, is brother to David Rhodes, president
of CBS. ABC News correspondent Claire Shipman is the wife of Jay Carney,
former Obama press secretary. George Stephanopoulos, ABC News’ leading
anchor, is a former Clinton staffer. Ben Sherwood, president of Disney-ABC
television group, is brother to former Obama special assistant Elizabeth
 Sherwood-Randall.
The media claim that such relationships have no bearing on coverage. Perhaps.
Or maybe, just maybe, people with close relationships to those in power tend to
favor those people in their coverage. After all, that’s the entire basis of the
rumors about President Trump’s conflicts of interests with regard to his
businesses, which are now supposedly run by his children – their relationship
makes him more likely to act in corrupt fashion to benefit those businesses.
Why wouldn’t that same logic apply to the media?
There’s nothing wrong with assigning Valerie Jarrett’s child to cover the DOJ.
But there is something wrong with pretending objectivity when it is clearer
ever day that such objectivity is a figment of the media’s imagination.

If One, As President, Was Planning The Imposition Of Martial Law, Would You Release Low Level Criminals? Of Course Not. You Would Release Hardened Ones.

Illegal immigrants charged with violent crimes and serious felonies were among the hundreds of criminals the Obama administration released from jails across the country in February 2013, newly released documents show.

According to records obtained by USA Today, the government released inmates charged with offenses ranging from kidnapping and sexual assault to drug trafficking, armed assault, and homicide.

The evidence contradicts previous assurances by the administration that the 617 criminals who were released as part of a cost cutting exercise were low risk offenders charged with misdemeanors "or other criminals whose prior conviction did not pose a violent threat to public safety," USA Today reported.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency admitted to the newspaper that numerous dangerous criminals had been released but denied direct responsibility.

"Discretionary releases made by ICE were of low-level offenders. However, the releases involving individuals with more significant criminal histories were, by and large, dictated by special circumstances outside of the agency's control," ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christensen told USA Today.

The new records obtained by the newspaper from a Freedom of Information Act requestoutlined previously undisclosed details about the alleged crimes of specific detainees. One person in Texas was charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault of a child.

Another illegal immigrant from Florida was facing charges of conspiracy to commit homicide, according to USA Today.

In addition, two Massachusetts detainees had been charged with aggravated assault using a weapon, while another illegal immigrant from Colorado was being held on a sexual assault charge.

The Obama administration released more than 2,200 illegal immigrants from jail between Feb. 9 and March 1, 2013, as part of an effort to cut the number of prisoners due to the budget sequester funding cuts. The detainees had been awaiting deportation or immigration hearings in a court, and the administration did not give advance notice it would be freeing them.

The releases triggered a furor in Congress and hearings with lawmakers who grilled then-ICE Director John Morton.

According to USA Today, Virginia GOP Rep. J. Randy Forbes asked Morton directly, "No one on that list has been charged or convicted with murder, rape, or sexual abuse of a minor, were they?"

Morton, who subsequently resigned, answered, "They were not."

Former White House spokesman Jay Carney had also described the criminals as "low-risk, noncriminal detainees," USA Today reported.

Meanwhile, Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma demanded a formal investigation by the Inspector General.

The internal audit, which concluded in August 2014, concluded that ICE broke the lawin releasing the criminal illegal migrants.

"It is baffling how an agency charged with homeland security and immigration enforcement would knowingly release hundreds of illegals with criminal histories. In this single action, ICE undermined its own credibility, the rule of law, and the safety of Americans and local law enforcement," Coburn said when the audit was released.

He added, "This report provides more evidence that our nation's immigration laws are being flagrantly disregarded. Americans need to be assured the problems within ICE that led to the dangerous release of illegal aliens will be fixed, and DHS and ICE will never again violate the law by releasing known criminals into our streets."

McCain said it is "deeply troubling that ICE would knowingly release thousands of undocumented immigrant detainees — many with prior criminal records — into our streets, while publicly downplaying the danger they posed," USA Today reported.

The Greed Of This Administration Can Be Viewed Through The Lenses Of Hillary And Carney!

Former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is already cashing in on his time with the Obama administration just weeks after he quit the podium, Politico reported.

The 49-year-old spin doctor received a signing bonus to join the Washington Speakers Bureau, which could result in payments of up to $100,000 per speech.

Carney will be in huge demand with universities, corporations and trade associations while discussing anecdotes about working with President Barack Obama as well as his views on the upcoming midterm and presidential elections.

The fees he receives from the speaking circuit will give Carney time to consider job offers, including positions in public relations firms, consulting companies and even Silicon Valley, Politico said.

Although the former Time magazine Washington bureau chief will be making the rounds of cable and TV news shows as a paid pundit, Carney says he has no plans at the moment to write a book.

"I’m just talking to a lot of people about a bunch of potentially interesting things," Carney told Politico. "I’m just having conversations."

Following in the footsteps of other senior administration officials from the past, Carney has hired Washington super lawyer Robert Barnett to help him negotiate any deals, Politico said.

"He knew how everything worked," said President George W. Bush’s first spokesman Ari Fleischer, noting that Barnett arranged a book auction that netted a large advance for his memoirs "Taking Heat."
Carney, who was replaced by his deputy Josh Earnest, plans to spend time this summer with his wife, ABC news correspondent Claire Shipman, and their two children. But when he gets back to work full-time, it is estimated that he’ll earn around $1.5 million in total compensation if he signs with a corporation or consulting firm, Politico said.

The car service Uber has already shown an interest in Carney, according to the tech news site Re/code. But he would more likely receive a cache of stock options rather than a large salary.

Bergdahl Deal Postponed For Years Until Obama's "Yes" Men Were In Charge. Those Opposed To The Deal No Longer Are Advisers.

Obama Advisers Repeatedly Told President Not to Deal

President Barack Obama was repeatedly advised by several of the nation's top military and intelligence officials not to engage in the prisoner swap to secure the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, which freed five senior Taliban leaders from Guantanamo prison, according to reports.

When the White House first began considering an exchange in 2011 and 2012, James Clapper, then director of National Intelligence, flat out rejected the release of the five detainees, according to The Daily Beast.

Leon Panetta, former defense secretary and CIA director, also confirmed Wednesday that he was opposed to a possible Bergdahl prisoner swap during his tenure and questioned the deal Obama reached last week.

Panetta recalled that at the time discussions of a Bergdahl prisoner swap took place, "I said, 'Wait, I have an obligation under the law. If I send prisoners from Guantanamo, they have to guarantee they don't go back to the battlefield.' I had serious concerns."

He added he "just assumed it was never going to happen."

Clapper had a similar rationale, according to the Beast, and said the risk was too high that the Taliban leaders would return to the battlefield.

Intelligence and defense officials told the Beast that the deal that was arranged was hastily done, and in a manner that suggested it was designed to squelch dissent and impose the will of the White House.

"This was an example of forcing consensus," one military official told the Beast. "The White House knew the answer they wanted, and they ended up getting it."

Dianne Feinstein, the Democratic chairwoman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, has been vocal in her criticism of the deal and the White House's failure to inform Congress. She told the Beast that lawmakers also signaled opposition to a deal when it was discussed a few years ago.

"Should we have gotten advance warning? I actually think so," she said, adding, "We had participated in a number of briefings some time ago [on a possible future deal] and there was considerable concern."

In an opinion piece Wednesday in The Washington Post, political commentator George Will said Obama's behavior is reminiscent of former President Richard Nixon's attitude toward governing: "When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."

Will wrote, "This episode will be examined by congressional committees, if they can pierce the administration's coming cover-up, which has been foreshadowed by the response to congressional attempts to scrutinize the politicization of the Internal Revenue Service. If the military stalls on turning over files to Congress pertaining to the five years of Bergdahl's absence, we will at least know that there is no national institution remaining to be corrupted."

White House press secretary Jay Carney came close to admitting that the decision ultimately came down to the president and his inner circle.

"It was the judgment of the team and the president that there was enough urgency here to ensure that Sgt. Bergdahl was safely recovered that a 30-day window of hoping that that opportunity remained open was not an option," Carney said Monday, according toPolitico. "Ultimately, as commander in chief, the president had the responsibility to take the action he did."

Politico noted that the decision by the White House to pursue the deal "sends a clear message: As liberals and some conservatives have long argued, Obama is now willing to wield his executive powers to get the job done."

For a second time this week, Obama on Thursday defended the deal and insisted he "absolutely makes no apologies" for seeking the release of Bergdahl.

When it comes to getting soldiers back from war, Obama said, "We don't condition whether we make the effort to get them back."

He reinforced the administration's justification that Bergdahl's declining health was the driving justification for the decision.

"We saw an opportunity, and we seized it. And I make no apologies for that," he said.

After more than three years of jousting with the White House press corps, President Barack Obama's chief spokesman, Jay Carney, will step down next month to pursue yet-to-be-named opportunities, Obama announced on Friday.Carney's deputy, Josh Earnest, will take his place, the president said.
Obama interrupted Carney on the podium, where he was answering questions during the White House daily news briefing, catching reporters by surprise.

"One of Jay's favorite lines is, 'I have no personnel announcements at this time,'" said Obama.
"But I do, and it's bittersweet," he said.
It was Obama's second turn on the podium on Friday. Earlier, he spoke in the same spot to say his Veteran Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki had resigned.
Obama called Carney one of his closest friends and advisers, and said he was "not thrilled" when Carney first told him in April that he wanted to leave.
Carney, 49, has been press secretary for longer than usual for such a high-pressure job. Many occupants stay for only a couple of years before leaving.
Carney replaced Robert Gibbs in January 2011 and stayed on through Obama's 2012 re-election.
Earlier in Obama's administration, Carney was Vice President Joe Biden's communications director. Before then, he was a reporter for 21 years, including a turn as Moscow bureau chief for Time magazine.
Carney frequently harkened back to his own time as a White House correspondent for Time magazine in commenting on the reporting techniques of the current press corps, which he said he sometimes found overly dramatic.
He and his wife, ABC news correspondent Claire Shipman, have two young children.
Obama noted that Carney's designated successor, Earnest, ran communications during the Iowa caucuses in Obama's first presidential campaign in 2008.
"Josh is an earnest guy," Obama quipped, "and you can't find just a nicer individual." The president called Earnest, 39, "a straight shooter and a great guy."
After Obama left the podium, Carney told reporters that he hasn't made any decisions yet about his next job but has had some conversations during the past few months about new possibilities.
He said he first planned to spend the summer with his children.
