Micah Rhodes was "ordered to stay away from anyone under 18" after being

convicted of criminal sexual abuse this year for incidents that occurred in 2014

and 2015, Oregon Live reports.

Rhodes was put on probation this year after being convicted on "three counts

of second-degree sexual abuse for having illicit sexual contact with a

17-year-old girl in Washington County and a 17-year-old boy in Multnomah

County. The sexual abuse occurred in 2014 and 2015, and Rhodes was

20 and 21 years old at the time."

The Occupy ICE PDX camp had a number of minor children living in it,

Oregon Live says, based on reports from other bloggers and reporters

who visited the camp. Authorities have not released details of Rhodes's

alleged contact with minors but the cramped quarters of the camp likely

made it impossible for Rhodes to abide by the conditions of his probation,

which mandate a certain distance from all minor children.

It is not clear, either, whether Rhodes lived full time at the camp. He does

run a group called "Portland's Resistance," which was involved in the

Occupy ICE protests in Portland and which seems to have visited the

camp regularly. A blogger named Robert West allegedly filmed Rhodes

at a protest outside Portland's ICE headquarters back in June before the

Occupy ICE PDX camp broke ground.

A judge will hear Rhodes' case next week. He faces up to 30 months in prison.

A Washington County Circuit Court jury on Friday found Portland activist Micah Rhodes guilty of second-degree sexual abuse of an underage girl.

The jury's 10-2 verdict came after a 1.5-day trial. Rhodes, once a prominent organizer of Portland's Resistance, is now 24.

He was 20 at the time he had sex with the girl in January 2014. Her age isn't listed in court papers, but investigators said she was younger than 18 then and unable to consent because of her age.

Rhodes will be sentenced in May. Oregon sentencing guidelines recommend a prison sentence ranging from about two to two-and-a-half years, said Deputy District Attorney Andy Pulver, who tried the case.

One in fifteen prisoners incarcerated in Oregon are illegal aliens, and a whopping 50 percent are in jail for sex crimes.

According to a study called “Oregon Department of Corrections: Criminal Alien Report December 2017” by David Cross, 6.60 percent of the prison population in Oregon is comprised of illegal aliens.

Once again, the most concerning aspect of this study is why exactly these illegal aliens are serving prison time.

According to Cross, nearly 50 percent of all illegal aliens in state prisons are serving time for sex crimes.

Here’s the break down:

Illegal aliens account for 200 cases of sex abuse, 175 cases of rape, and 101 cases of sodomy in the state of Oregon.

Illegal aliens also commit more than 100 homicides in the state, as well as other violent crimes.

ICE has identified the 973 illegals in the state’s prisons, and has placed detainers on them.

Illegal immigrants committing crime is something Oregon has apparently gotten used to.

Is President Trump doing a good enough job securing our borders?

For example, in Portland, a sanctuary city, an illegal alien was sentenced to 35 years in prison after he was deported to Mexico 20 times but kept returning to Portland to commit crime.

According to KATU-TV, Sergio Martinez faces jail time for assaulting two women in December 2017.

This isn’t Martinez’s first run in with the law.

He also faces a slew of other charges including robbery, kidnapping, assault charges, burglary, sodomy and sex abuse.

How much longer will it be until our lawmakers realize they are putting the American people at risk by inviting illegal aliens into our country?

Until Congress decides to do something about these illegal criminals, we are forced to stand idly by while sanctuary cities harbor violent offenders and turn a deaf ear to the American people’s calls for help.

Sodas Cost Much More In Seattle And Other Do-Gooder Cities

To ring in the new year, Seattle implemented a new tax on its residents: the dreaded sugary drink tax. Now, we know just how much the tax will hurt consumers.

How bad is it?

Pricing labels at a Seattle Costco have garnered much attention because they show just how much soda and other sugary drinks now cost Seattle residents. A CBS News manager tweeted pictures showing the price increase of two drinks.

In the first case, the price of a case of Dr. Pepper (36 cans) nearly doubled. According to the picture, Costco sells the soda for $9.99. But with an added tax of $7.56, the soda now costs customers $17.55. In the second case, Costco sells a case of Gatorade for $15.99. But the tax adds $10.34 to the price, which brings the total cost to $26.33.

Despite the steep new prices, Costco was there to remind customers who live in the Seattle city limits that the tax doesn’t apply to its nearby locations outside the city.

What did Seattle do?

Last June, the Seattle city council passed a 1.75 cents per ounce tax on sugary drinks. The tax affects sodas, energy drinks, sports drinks, juice and other non-milk based products. Non-milk based drinks include many of those sold at Starbucks and other coffee shops. Diet drinks and those from small distributors are exempt from the tax.

Distributors are required to pay the tax. However, the added cost has been directly passed on to consumers in most cases.

The purpose of the tax, Seattle’s progressive leaders allege, is to help thwart people from purchasing the drinks. Much of the tax will be used to fund programs designed to educate young people on making healthy choices.

Do other U.S. cities have a similar tax?

Yes. In 2015, Berkeley, California, became the first U.S. city to implement a sugary drink tax, otherwise known as the “soda tax.”

Many of America’s most progressive cities and municipalities followed suit, including:

Philadelphia
San Fransisco and Oakland
Portland, Oregon
Albany, New York
Boulder, Colorado
Cook County, Illinois, where the city of Chicago is located

Maryland and Virginia also levy a statewide soda tax.

While much of the country’s attention was focused on the astonishing acquittal of Kate Steinle’s killer in San Francisco, another illegal immigrant accused of horrendous crimes was being held accountable for them farther up the coast in Portland, Oregon.

According to the New York Post, a Mexican national with a criminal record and series of prior deportations and re-entries named Sergio Jose Martinez was sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts including assault, burglary, kidnapping, sexual abuse, sodomy, and rape.

He remained incredibly defiant and showed no remorse while receiving his sentence. During the sentencing hearing, throughout which Martinez was repeatedly spotted smirking and smiling, the brother of one of his victims stated: “Sergio, no sentencing is enough. I rather you rot in hell.”

Later, as Martinez was being led out of court, he returned the sentiment to the family and replied, “See all you guys in hell.”

According to KOIN, the 31-year-old Martinez was being sentenced for the violent assault of two women in two separate incidents on July 24.

In the first incident, Martinez broke into the home of a 65-year-old woman, assaulted her, forcibly raped her and then stole her cell phone, purse and car.

The victim managed to call the police from a neighbor’s home after her assailant fled. Law enforcement was then able to track the stolen phone and find the stolen car.

However, in the meantime, Martinez had launched another attack on another woman, this time in a parking garage. Despite Martinez having a knife, the woman put up a fight and drew attention from passers-by, which prompted Martinez to try and flee, only to be caught by police shortly afterward.

Martinez’ arrest record dated back to at least 2003, with more than a dozen arrests, and he reportedly served prison time in both Oregon and California over the years.

Incredibly, Martinez had been taken into custody at some point earlier in the year prior to the assaults, but was released by the Multnomah County Sheriffs Office in spite of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer being placed on Martinez — all due to the state’s sanctuary law.

KGW reported that Martinez had been deported by the U.S. government no less than 20 separate times, but had only received at least five probation violations for unauthorized re-entry into the country.

His most recent deportation occurred in November of 2016, and it is unclear when he re-entered the country after that date.

The man’s criminal record included prior convictions of burglary, battery, theft, and obstructing a police officer, and he was known to be an habitual abuser of methamphetamine.

The New York Post noted that the Multnomah County Sheriff seemed to sidestep his role in allowing the crimes in July to occur by virtue of his releasing Martinez, and even seemed to cast blame on the federal government for the illegal alien being in the country in the first place.

“He was released consistent with the orders of the court. No federal or state criminal warrants were present at the time he left our custody,” stated Sheriff Michael Reese, even as he admitted that Martinez “returned to commit additional crimes” after having been previously deported.

“It would help our community to understand how he was held accountable by federal authorities for multiple, illegal re-entries,” Reese added.

Well, sheriff, maybe if you had held onto the guy until ICE came along to pick him up, he might have been held accountable, especially under the current administration, as opposed to the prior collective. Then, two innocent women in your jurisdiction wouldn’t have been assaulted, one of them sexually.
