Don't Believe A Thing About Stopping The Dump Trump Movement--It Is Alive And Functioning At The RNC!

RNC Using 'Hard-Nosed Tactics' to Stop Revolt Against Trump

The Republican National Committee and campaign of Donald Trump are reportedly getting "hard-nosed" in their efforts to head off an anti-Trump revolt at the party's convention next month.

According to the New York Times, the RNC is packing key positions with "loyal party stalwarts" to make sure rogue delegates don't try to disrupt the Cleveland event.
The anti-Trump delegates appeared to get a boost last week when bothHouse Speaker Paul Ryan and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said delegates should have free reign to follow their consciences when voting at the convention rather than remain bound to a candidate.

Peter Feaman, who will serve on the convention rules committee, called ditch Trump talk "a lot of sound and fury."
Latest News Update

"We’re going to ride the Trump bandwagon into 1600 Penn Avenue, or into oblivion," he tells the Times. "One or the other."
Special:
Freeing up the delegates has been promoted for years by Curly Haugland, a Republican National Committee official from North Dakota, the Times reports — and recently RNC officials began sending out emails trying to discredit him.

"It’s a total smear campaign," Haugland tells the Times.

According to the Times, the RNC and Trump campaign "are employing hard-nosed tactics" that include warning delegates that trying to undermine Trump violates party rules, and even "threatening to deny speaking slots to Republicans they deem disloyal for not backing him."

Also, about a dozen operatives have been hired to help keep rogue delegates in line, the Times reports, even as RNC head Reince Priebus is getting associates to reach out to first-time delegates "to get a feel for whether they might be problematic."
Also, the Times reports, lawyers for the RNC are advising state party leaders how to beat back the anti-Trump efforts.

The Times reports the hard-line approach would seem to doom any chance of a reconciliation with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who will have more than 500 delegates at the convention — and that to deny him a chance to speak would be a "rare rebuke."

There is increasing talk about delegates revolting against presumptive GOP
presidential nominee Donald Trump. It coincides with Trump plummeting in
the polls to historic lows against Hillary Clinton.

It does seem that some anti-Trump delegates are planning to revolt against
Trump in Cleveland. The Washington Post is reporting that money is being
raised and plans are being made to hire staff and launch a convention floor
fight against Trump.

From the Post:
Supporters of a growing anti-Donald Trump movement announced plans

Sunday to raise money for staff and a possible legal defense fund as

they asked new recruits to help spread the word with less than a month

until the Republican National Convention.

Having started with just a few dozen delegates, organizers also said

Sunday that they now count several hundred delegates and alternates

as part of their campaign.

"As we carefully consider not only the presidential nominee but the

rules of the convention, the platform of the Republican Party and the

vice presidential nominee, remember that this is true reality TV – it is

not entertainment," Regina Thomson, co-founder of the group now

calling itself "Free the Delegates," said Sunday night.

The plan is to change the rules of the convention in order to allow
delegates to vote their conscience instead of the results of primaries
and state caucuses. Trump has has over 200 bound delegates more
than he needs to win the nomination as a result of the results of the
 primaries.

Trump’s allies dismiss any talk of a convention revolt. Alabama
Senator Jeff Sessions says a revolt “has no chance whatsoever.”
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has also been downplaying reports
of a rift between Trump and the party in recent days.

As for the Washington Post, they’re currently in an ongoing feud with
the Trump campaign. The Trump campaign has pulled their credentials
and banned them from covering Trump campaign rallies and events
 calling it “dishonest.”

Bravo! Republicans Make NBC Pay For The Unprofessional Treatment At The Last Debate

RNC 'Suspending' NBC News From Planned Debate

The Republican National Committee says it's suspending its partnership with NBC News and its properties and won't allow the network to co-host a presidential primary debate scheduled for February.
The letter from RNC Chairman Reince Priebus to NBC News chief Andrew Lack comes after this week's heavily criticized debate on CNBC.

"The RNC’s sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that our candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to lay out their vision for America’s future," Priebus said in the letter. "We simply cannot continue with NBC without full consultation with our campaigns."

Preibus said that Wednesday's CNBC debate "was conducted in bad faith. We understand that NBC does not exercise full editorial control over CNBC’s journalistic approach. However, the network is an arm of your organization, and we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance."

He said that the debate topics were to include such issues as "job growth, taxes, technology, retirement and the health of our national economy.

"That was not the case," he said. "Before the debate, the candidates were promised an opening question on economic or financial matters. That was not the case.

"Candidates were promised that speaking time would be carefully monitored to ensure fairness," Priebus added. "That was not the case.  Questions were inaccurate or downright offensive.

"The first question directed to one of our candidates asked if he was running a comic book version of a presidential campaign, hardly in the spirit of how the debate was billed."

He accused the CNBC moderators of engaging in "gotcha" questions that were "petty and mean-spirited in tone, and designed to embarrass our candidates.

"What took place Wednesday night was not an attempt to give the American people a greater understanding of our candidates’ policies and ideas," Priebus said.
The RNC tells NBC it will still hold a debate as scheduled on Feb. 26 with its other planned media partner, National Review.

A spokeswoman for NBC News said, in a statement, "This is a disappointing development. However, along with our debate partners at Telemundo we will work in good faith to resolve this matter with the Republican party."
Even before the decision to break with NBC, several of the GOP campaigns had planned to meet to discuss complaints about how the party's debates are being run.

NBC could stand to lose major advertising revenue with the suspension of its debate broadcast rights.
The first Republican debate on Fox News, where moderators were also seen as aggressive, drew a record 24 million viewers. Wednesday's debate drew 14 million.
Candidates, faced with CNBC's questioning, lashed out on stage.
When moderator John Harwood interrupted New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as he attempted to answer a question, Christie shot back: "Even in New Jersey, what you're doing is called rude."
"This is not a cage match," added Senator Ted Cruz.
"And you look at the questions -- 'Donald Trump, are you a comic book villain?' 'Ben Carson, can you do math?'... 'Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?' How about talking about the substantive issues people care about," he said to a loud roar from the crowd.
Cruz used the Republican outrage over the debate moderators to appeal to donors.
"I am declaring war on the liberal media," he began a fundraising email Friday.

Republican National Committee, Probably Under Pressure, Slams Trump. Was What Trump Said So Bad?

The RNC Condemns Trump’s Comments About McCain

46

GOPThe Republican National Committee released a statement this afternoon condemning Donald Trump‘s attack on John McCain‘s war hero status.
In case you haven’t heard, Trump slammed McCain today by saying, “He’s a war hero ’cause he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
That comment was too much for a lot of conservatives, especiallyTrump’s Republican presidential rivals, and, it seems, the RNC as well.
This is the statement released by RNC Communications Director Sean Spicer:
Senator McCain is an American hero because he served his country and sacrificed more than most can imagine. Period. There is no place in our party or our country for comments that disparage those who have served honorably.
