Bank of America announced the company had ceased loaning money to manufacturers of so-called "assault weapons."

Anne Finucane, Bank of America's vice-chair, told Bloomberg TV that the bank had severed ties with several gun manufacturers. The bank does not want to underwrite of finance "military-style firearms" that are available for civilian purchase and has told its clients that.

Among the bank’s clients are gun manufacturers Vista Outdoor and Sturm Ruger.

"We have had intense conversations over the last few months. And it's our intention not to finance these military-style firearms for civilian use," declared Finucane.

"These are clients we have enjoyed a relationship with," she said. "There are those I think will reduce their portfolios and we'll work with them and others that will choose to do something else."

Bank of America’s actions has led some to call for a boycott on social media.

Bank of America will continue to do business with retailers of "assault weapons," for now. However, executives point out that discussions are ongoing on that front.

Meanwhile, the monolithic organization issues credit cards to illegal aliens, in defiance of federal immigration law.

Bank of America is not the only financial services company that has cracked down on gun manufacturers and retailers since the Parkland school shooting. Citigroup has enacted restrictions on gun retailers, including barring the sale of firearms to anyone under 21 and ending the sale of high capacity magazines and other accessories to enhance the fire rate of semi-automatic weapons.

Liberal States Lose Manufacturers. One Day They Will Awaken To No Companies Supporting Their Liberal Policies

Gun Maker Sick of Liberals, Abandons Calif. for Freer State

 Print
Another gun manufacturer has decided to vote with its feet. In this case, beating feet away from a state government that is openly hostile to the Second Amendment as well as from runaway tax-happy bureaucrats who never met a business they didn’t want to over-regulate.
According to Bob Adelmann of The New American, yet another manufacturing company has decided to pack up its entire kit and caboodle and leave the socialism-friendly confines of California.
Perhaps subconsciously borrowing from President Trump’s catchphrase, Weatherby, Inc., is sending the message to the world that it has every intention of Making Weatherby Great Again.
As it turns out, Weatherby manufactures high-end, top-quality custom rifles and shotguns for the discerning shooter. The gun maker is also obviously sick of being under the thumb of Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democratic controlled State Senate and State Assembly.
As Adelmann notes, company president Adam Weatherby, grandson of the founder of Weatherby Inc., dropped quite the bombshell in an announcement regarding his Paso Robles, California-company.

(Check out the announcement Weatherby made during the 2018 SHOT show last week in Las Vegas.)
In a statement, Weatherby made it clear why the company was moving:
“We wanted a place where we could retain a great workforce, and where our employees could live an outdoor lifestyle.
We wanted to move to a state where we can grow into our brand. Wyoming means new opportunities.”

Do you think Weatherby is making the right move?

Starting in 2019, it’ll be “goodbye Golden State, hello Cowboy State.”
While Weatherby starting anew in Wyoming might not be that big of a hit to the smoldering wreck that is the California economy, the gun manufacturing company will surely be quite the boon to Sheridan, Wyoming (population 17,444).
Weatherby is looking to bring somewhere between 70 and 90 new jobs to Wyoming, but perhaps more important to the townsfolk, a yearly payroll of roughly $5 million.
And Weatherby isn’t the only job creator pulling the plug on Democrat Party-controlled states.

The New American also cites the following companies bidding perhaps a less-than fond hasta la vista to their current business-unfriendly states:
    • Magpul Industries, which pulled out of increasingly anti-gun Colorado in 2013 and moved its factories to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
    • Beretta, which left Maryland for Tennessee in 2016.
    • Remington Arms, which moved from New York to Alabama in 2014.
    • Colt and Sturm Ruger, which moved to Texas and North Carolina respectively.
Apparently a motivating factor in Weatherby’s decision to relocate would be the seemingly never-ending stream of new taxes and state regulations emanating out of Sacramento.
As reported by Edmund DeMarche of Fox News, two elected Democrat lawmakers have introduced a bill that would take away half of the Trump Tax Break from certain California-based companies:
“Calling the Trump administration’s tax reform plan a “middle-class tax increase,” two California lawmakers introduced a bill that would force large companies to fork over half of their expected savings to the state.
“Assemblymen Kevin McCarty and Phil Ting, both Democrats, introduced Assembly Constitutional Amendment 22, which calls for a 10 percent surcharge on companies with a net earnings over $1 million. The plan could potentially raise billions for the state’s social services programs.”
But wait! Hasn’t the state government already given a new and hefty tax on the job-creators? Yep, sure did.
As reported by CNN back in 2012;
The measure (Prop 30) creates three new personal income tax brackets for rich residents and adds a quarter-cent to the sales tax. The higher tax rates, which hit single filers making $250,000 and up and married taxpayers earning at least $500,000, last for seven years, and push the top tax rate to 12.3% for filers earning $500,000 and above, or $1 million per couple. It is effective starting with the 2012 tax year.
Please share on Facebook and Twitter. Especially if you live in a state that would welcome refugee businesses seeking economic freedom.
If you were a business owner, would you stick around in California?

People Fear Terrorism And Potential Of New Gun Control Regulations--Gun Purchases Skyrocket

Gun Shares Soar in Wake of Mass Shootings, Fear of Tighter Controls

Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. jumped to an eight-year high and Sturm Ruger & Co. climbed on investor expectations that gun enthusiasts will purchase more pistols and rifles as calls for restrictions increase.
The gunmakers’ shares have advanced in recent years in the wake of mass shootings like the one in California last week that have led to stepped-up efforts to restrict ownership. Sales for both companies have increased as people stockpile weapons in response to politicians’ demands for tougher legislation. The political efforts have all fizzled.
“The No. 1 driver of firearms sales is fear,” said Brian Ruttenbur, an analyst at BB&T Capital Markets, pointing out that all the Democratic Party presidential candidates have discussed tightening gun control. “Primarily, fear of registration restrictions, banning and things like that.”
Concern for personal safety is also driving demand, Ruttenbur said. Unrest in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri, had led people to purchase firearms — a movement that has been refueled by a fear of domestic terrorist attacks after last week’s shooting that killed 14 and wounded 21 in San Bernardino, California.
“It’s kind of a double whammy,” he said.
Background Checks
Background checks by the Federal Bureau of Investigation rose 7.7 percent in November from a year earlier, according to Ruttenbur, citing adjusted figures published by the National Shooting Sports Foundation trade group.

Checks for handguns rose 22 percent. FBI background checks are the best proxy for gun sales because there are about 200 manufacturers, most of whom are closely held, Ruttenbur said.
Thomas Dineen, the chief financial officer of Sturm Ruger, didn’t return a voice-mail message. Liz Sharp, vice president of investor relations for Smith & Wesson, didn’t return requests for comment.
Smith & Wesson, whose brands include M&P and Thompson/Center Arms, surged 7.6 percent to $20.44 in New York, its highest closing price since October 2007. The shares have doubled this year. Sturm Ruger, maker of Ruger American, Gunsite Scout and Hawkeye weapons, increased 5.9 percent to $57.50, its biggest jump in a month. The stock has climbed 66 percent this year.
Latest News Update

Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, who officials say were inspired by Islamic State ideology, opened fire on a office holiday party in San Bernardino on Wednesday, killing 14 and wounding 21. The couple was tracked down the same day and killed in a shootout with police.
Assault Weapons
President Barack Obama, speaking from the Oval Office Sunday night, called the shooting an act of terrorism and discussed plans to combat the threat, in part by increasing airstrikes of the Islamic State. He urged Congress to block people on a no-fly list from buying guns and said it should become more difficult to buy “powerful assault weapons like the ones that were used in San Bernardino.”
Concern over stricter gun laws has waned after no action followed the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting three years ago, in which 20 children and 6 adult staff members were killed down by a lone gunman, said Christopher Krueger, an analyst at Lake Street Capital Markets LLC.
“There will be a sustained uptick in gun sales, not necessarily because of the potential laws, but because people are worried about these actual events and being defenseless,” he said. “Most people know there probably won’t be any meaningful laws passed that would stop them to buy what they want.”
‘Frenzied Buying’
More women in recent years have been buying pistols that fit easily in purses for personal protection, and manufacturers have responded by selling pink guns. Growth in demand for rifles, which surged after the Sandy Hook massacre, hasn’t been as strong lately, said Ruttenbur, of BB&T.
“You’ve got a really frenzied buying demand for inexpensive handguns,” he said.
Still, people worry that the president could take unilateral action to disrupt the sale of guns, such as by slowing FBI background checks, he said. Those concerns have caused gun sales to double during the Obama administration.
“He has been the best thing for gun manufacturers,” Ruttenbur said. “He’s really not doing anything except driving sales right now.”
