Cyanide device explodes, killing family’s dog. They can’t believe who planted it behind their home.

Canyon Mansfield was on a walk Thursday with his dog Casey on a hill behind his family’s Pocatello, Idaho, home  when he noticed a pipe-like object sticking out of the snow-covered ground.

“I go over and touch it,” Mansfield, 14, told the East Idaho News. “Then it makes a pop sound, and it spews orange gas everywhere.”

The gas was cyanide, the paper said, and it hit Mansfield’s left eye and clothing. So he washed out his eye with snow, the News said.

But then he noticed his dog was in trouble. Turns out the wind blew the cyanide right into Casey’s face, the News reported.

“I look over and see him having a seizure,” the tearful teen told the paper. “I ran over, and he had these glassy eyes. He couldn’t see me, and he had this red stuff coming out of his mouth. So I was freaking out.”

Mansfield sprinted down the hill and told his mother Theresa what had happened, the News reported, and the pair ran back up to attend to Casey — but their 3-year-old yellow Lab was dead.

Theresa Mansfield called police and then her husband Mark, a medical doctor, the paper said.

“I hurried home, and the first thing I did was try to resuscitate the dog,” Mark Mansfield told the News. “Unfortunately, I exposed myself to cyanide and had no idea.”

After hours of investigation, the paper said it was determined that their dog Casey was exposed to an M-44 — a spring-activated device that releases cyanide when it’s pressed or pulled upward. The News added that the U.S. Department of Agriculture employs the M-44s for coyote control.

The revelation was no relief to the Mansfields, whom the paper said had never seen such a device in their neighborhood during the 10 years they’ve lived there.

“We didn’t know anything about it. No neighborhood notifications, and our local authorities didn’t know anything about them,” Mark Mansfield told the News. “The sheriff deputies who went up there didn’t even know what a cyanide bomb was.”

The family told the paper the M-44 that killed their dog was planted on their property’s border.

“We weren’t aware, and nobody told us,” Theresa Mansfield told the News. “There was nothing posted up on the hill saying to beware or be careful.”

The Mansfields, along with responding deputies, had blood drawn to make sure they were in the clear after the cyanide exposure, the paper said.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services told the News the incident was Idaho’s first unintentional M-44 discharge since 2014.

“Wildlife Services understands the close bonds between people and their pets and sincerely regrets such losses,” R. Andre Bell, a spokesman for the USDA, told the paper in a statement. “Wildlife Services has removed M-44s in that immediate area … and is completing a thorough review of the circumstances of this incident … to determine whether improvements can be made to reduce the likelihood of similar occurrences happening in the future.”

But many unanswered questions remain.

For one, the clothes Canyon Mansfield was wearing at the time of the cyanide explosion are in a sealed plastic bag, the News said — his family isn’t sure what to do with them.

“We couldn’t even have a proper burial for Casey because we didn’t know how to deal with cyanide,” Theresa Mansfield told the paper. “No one knows how to deal with cyanide.”

And while another M-44 was found about 50 yards from the first device, the Mansfields told the News they’re not sure if there are others.

“Three hundred yards from this swing set next to my house, there were two cyanide bombs,” Mark Mansfield told the News. “It kills anything. It almost killed my child, and it did kill my dog. I don’t want it to kill my neighbors.”

Also, the Mansfields told the paper that as of Friday no one from the USDA apologized to them for the incident.

“If you plant bombs by our house, just tell us,” Canyon Mansfield told the News. “By the grace of God, I’m still alive.”

The Great Recession never ended, despite what the mainstream media and political hacks tell you. It has just been covered over as if putting paper over a damaged wall. If you look closely you can spot the truth.

The administration’s unemployment numbers are false. The actual unemployment rate counting all those not working — not just those considered “short-term discouraged workers” (what the government counts) — is 22.7 percent, according to Shadowstats. This is the number based on the measure used prior to 1994 to count unemployment. That means more than one in every five Americans who could be working is not. For comparison, at the height of the Great Depression  unemployment was 24.75 percent.

Food stamps are the new bread lines. The food stamp program is a clever ruse that hides the actual number of people who are on assistance. If the media were showing lines of people waiting for soup and bread there would be a national revolt.

The number of people receiving food stamps (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) has exceeded 45 million for 56 straight months, according to the Department of Agriculture. This means an astonishing 14 percent of Americans are fed by government. And 21.3 percent (52.2 million) of the U.S. population is on one or more means-tested government programs. Still more —almost every American? — get special tax breaks, incentives or treatment, which is yet another method of redistribution of wealth and more social engineering.

In 1969, when the U.S. Department of Agriculture began tracking food stamp participation, 2.87 million Americans were on food stamps. That’s just 1.4 percent of the population. Food stamp participation has increased 1,470 percent in 47 years, while the U.S. population has increased only 56 percent.

This increase was by design. The USDA admits that “Changes in SNAP policies, some of them associated with the 2002 and 2008 Farm Acts, have made benefits easier to apply for, available to more people, and more generous.”

Although Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are engaged in a race to promise the most “free stuff” for the people, such a thing is unconstitutional and unsustainable. Government welfare programs disincentivize work and require government money printing to sustain.

The act of money creation means that more and more of the national wealth flows to the federal government. How in the name of Pete do people think that the United States government became so powerful and so wealthy in property? But all fiat money systems in history have collapsed and the U.S. will be no exception.

The government produces nothing. It has to steal and it does so on an unimaginable scale. The mind of man cannot deal with such a massive transfer of wealth, and few people even suspect it. Why do people not know about the biggest fraud in history?

As Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) told the Free Beacon, “Unless we reform programs like the SNAP program and a number of other entitlement programs there is going to be a shrinking supply of funds for all of these programs given the fact that we now have $500 billion to $1 trillion annual deficits totaling at $20 trillion annual debt.”

Supporters of Communist Sanders and the Witch of Chappaqua believe the free stuff can continue forever. That’s not surprising. Many of them have been fed by government their whole lives through school breakfast and lunch programs, and are taught in schools that the government is their caretaker.

But government has nothing except that which it takes from someone else. Money printing is theft, because every dollar printed debauches the dollars you are holding.

When the food stamp program and all other government programs collapse, there will be blood in the streets. Desperate people do desperate things. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, a Republican, signed into law earlier this year a bill the State Legislature passed that makes passing a drug test an eligibility contingency for some recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits – aka food stamps.

Now, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which administers the ever-expanding SNAP program, is cautioning State officials not to enforce the new law, because it places State-controlled parameters on a program that’s administered under Federal guidelines.

House Bill 772, now a Georgia law, requires drug testing for SNAP applicants who, according to language in the bill, raise a “reasonable suspicion” that they’re abusing illegal drugs. Approximately two million of Georgia’s estimated 10 million residents are on food stamps. Nationwide, government spending on SNAP benefits more than doubled during the five-year span between 2007 and 2012.

The new law was scheduled to take effect July 1, but the USDA warned health officials this week that placing State qualifiers on eligibility for Federal assistance is a violation of Federal law. The agency sent a letter Tuesday to Georgia Department of Human Services Commissioner Keith Horton, cautioning that Federal law “prohibits states from mandating drug testing of applicants and recipients.”

Defenders of the Georgia law say the Federal government is making a big deal out of a modest and well-intentioned qualifier, although few are arguing that the law does, in fact, add an additional layer of requirements to SNAP guidelines established at the Federal level – in direct violation of Federal law.

But the State-Federal conflict does expand an ongoing debate over whether Congress should modify SNAP and other forms of public assistance to encourage recipients to help themselves at the same time. Congressional Republicans attempted to tag on a drug testing amendment to the Farm Bill last year in the House, but that effort was weighed down by bad – if facile – public relations, and was abandoned.

Following the Department of Agriculture's May 7 solicitation for submachine guns with 30-round magazine clips, Rep. Jim Bridenstine is demanding an explanation.

"The fear of my constituents is that the USDA is expanding outside of its intended mission," the Oklahoma Republican wrote the agency on Wednesday.

According to AmmoLand Shooting Sports News, the timing of the USDA request for the weaponry is suspect, coming "just one month after the [Cliven] Bundy embarrassment."

"It seems that the USDA, which oversees America’s vast tracks of forested land, may be preparing itself in the event some cowboys want their heads of cattle to munch government-owned grass," the website stated.

Bundy gained national attention in April during an armed standoff in Nevada over cattle grazing rights.

The USDA's solicitation was first reported by Breitbart.

But the farming agency told Politico there are more than 100 agents employed by the law enforcement division of the department’s Office of the Inspector General who carry such weapons, explaining those agents are involved in the investigation of criminal activities, including fraud, theft of government property, bribery, extortion, smuggling, and assaults on employees.

Bob Owens, the editor of BearingArms.com, wrote the response was predictable.

"They will no doubt attempt to justify their purchase of military hardware by explaining that they conduct criminal investigations and may need to do armed raids,"  he wrote, adding:

"This is part of a trend to arm every branch of federal government, whether the individual agency has a legitimate need for a paramilitary force or not."

AmmoLand noted the Government Accountability Office in February downplayed concerns about big ammunition purchases by the Department of Homeland Security.

Food Stamps to Illegal Aliens

Once again our government gives millions away to NON-CITIZENS while citizens cannot visit the White House or whose flights are restricted by FAA cuts.  We need to address the needs of the citizens first and then if there are leftovers, we can give money to illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants can get food stamps on behalf of their eligible kids — without having to disclose their immigration status, according to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch.

The food-stamps offer is spelled out in a Spanish language flyer provided by the United States Department of Agriculture to the Mexican Embassy.

Judicial Watch said the flyer proves that the USDA is making “no effort to restrict aid to, identify, or apprehend illegal immigrants who may be on the food stamp rolls.’’

The flyer, part of the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, was made public in response to a Freedom of Information Act request made by Judicial Watch last July.


According to Judicial Watch, part of the statement, translated into English, emphasizes in bold and underlined words, “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”

A USDA spokesperson insisted to the Daily Caller that illegal immigrants remain ineligible for food stamps.

“Non-citizens who are unlawfully present, are not, nor have they ever been, eligible to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits,” the spokesperson said when presented with the flyer.

First Ammo, Now Bullet Proof Guard Shacks

First the Department of Homeland Security buys massive amounts of ammunition and now they are purchasing "bullet proof guard shacks.  What is up?  This story keeps growing day by day while 99% of the people in this country are asleep at the switch because NBC, CBS and ABC are not covering it. "If it is not on the three major channels, it must not be true" seems to be their mantra.  

Whatever the reason for the buildup, we seem to be seeing it throughout the government. Yesterday, we picked up on the USDA's Department of Forestry purchasing the same bullets. What other departments are buying weapons and ammo? What is the reason? 

We checked both Google and Bing and do not find any sites that jumped out at us saying the government is buying additional weapons, only ammo. Maybe, the sellers are keeping it under raps or were told to by the government not to talk about it but it does not seem to be out there. This is opposite of the DHS, USDA ammo purchases and now the guard shacks.  Why?

In fact, we were surprised to not find these purchases. Does anyone find information that contradicts the lack of info on gun purchases?  If so, we would like to see it and we will publish it right here.

So be vigilant, we need to find out what is going on!

Federal agency preparing to unveil more checkpoints

The Department of Homeland Security recently stoked concern by contracting a company to provide them with 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets. Now the federal agency is also purchasing bullet-proof checkpoint booths that include ‘stop and go’ lights.

A press release from Shelters Direct brags about how they are providing the DHS with bullet resistant guard booths. Images of the booth from the company’s website suggest the guard shacks will be used to control checkpoints.

“This guard building features a standing seam hip roof, a thru-wall HVAC unit, (2) UL 752 BR Level 3 sliding doors, UL 752 Bullet Resistant Level 3 glass and a Low]E coating. Other noticeable highlights of this prefabricated steel building include metal halide security lighting, decorative window grille frames, and a “Stop & Go” light with controls,” states the press release.

The purpose behind the bullet proof booths is unknown, but the DHS has publicly announced that it plans to increase the number of unannounced checkpoints manned by TSA VIPR teams and other federal agents beyond the 9300 that were set up last year alone.

The DHS’ Federal Protective Service stoked controversy in January when it set up a checkpoint and posted agents armed with semiautomatic guns outside a Social Security office in Florida.

The armed agents checked identifications of locals as part of Operation Shield, an unannounced drill centered around “detecting the presence of unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive or dangerous activities.”

Last week, defense contractor ATK announced that it had been awarded an “Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement for .40 caliber hollow point ammunition” by the DHS.

The contract stipulated that ATK would provide Homeland Security with 450 million rounds of bullets over a five year period. The federal agency also purchased 200 million rounds of bullets back in 2009 and has an open bid for up to 175 million rounds of .233 caliber ammo.

As the American Dream blog pointed out, “The Department of Homeland Security is only supposed to be shooting at people very rarely. It simply does not make sense that they would need so much ammunition.”

With guns and ammo flying off the shelves at record levels due to fears that a second term in office for Obama could lead to a fresh assault on second amendment rights, the DHS may be attempting to head off any potential ammo shortage.

The feds are also seeking to arm hundreds of newly hired security guards tasked with protecting government buildings.

Some fear that the DHS is preparing for the threat of civil disorder or a crisis in Mexico that will lead to a mass migration of people across the southern border.

In December, DHS chief Janet Napolitano directed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to prepare for a mass influx of immigrants into the United States, calling for the plan to deal with the “shelter” and “processing” of large numbers of people.
