An 11-year-old student who voted for President-elect Donald Trump in a mock election at school was beaten so badly he needed to be taken to an emergency room for treatment.
The boy, who was not identified, was standing with the aid of crutches while he spoke to reporters about the incident.
The incident happened on Wednesday in a classroom at Stafford Municipal School District when the election came up in discussion.
“These boys decided to ask the classroom, ‘Who voted for Donald Trump?’ And then I said, ‘I did.’ And then they come over here and jerked me out of my seat,” the boy told KRIV. “Before I could get up they started kicking me and punching me.”
He said a teacher was present in the room but it felt like he was on the ground “forever” before help arrived.
The boy’s parents said the principal of the school called them immediately after the incident, but added they still don’t have answers as to why it the beating took so long.
“We have not really gotten a clear explanation of how long this went on and why did it take so long for it to be stopped?” the boy’s father, Buddy Lemmon said.
“I took him to the hospital, we went and made a statement to the police officers, and then I took him to the emergency room so he could get some x-rays done,” Mary Lemmon, the boy’s mother said. He had several deep bruises over his body.
“This is America,” Mary said. “Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and they shouldn’t be beat up for it.”
“I know we’ve been very opinionated on this election, but I’ve never said anything to the point where I would incite violence,” Buddy said, adding that his son “doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.”
The Stafford Municipal School District released a statement and said it was investigating the situation. The students that were allegedly involved in the altercation were suspended pending the investigation.

The violence we have seen in the aftermath of Trump’s win is obviously hurtful and needs to stop.
ANN ARBOR, MI — Hundreds of University of Michigan students have
turned around the rallying cry of anti-Donald Trump “not my president” protesters with an online petition — #NotMyCampus — that calls out U-M President Mark
Schlissel as not only anti-Trump, but also unsympathetic to students
who say they have been targeted because they voted for the president-
elect.
Some conservative leaning students who signed the petition said they
feel marginalized and, in some cases, unsafe because they voted for
Trump. Others accused Schlissel and university officials of coddling
students rather than helping preparing them for the real, post-college
world where things may not always go their way.
Schlissel spent about an hour giving solace to U-M students who were
dismayed by Trump’s election last week, classes were canceled and
exams rescheduled in some cases, and counselors were made available
to students who felt overwhelmed by the outcome of the election.
Your voices worked out to be a 90/10 decision in favor of the
unsuccessful candidate yesterday,” Schlissel said at the post-election rally to promote love and equality, according to video footage posted
on YouTube by The Michigan Daily, the campus newspaper. “Ninety
percent of you rejected the kind of hate and the fractiousness and the
longing for some sort of idealized version of a nonexistent yesterday
that was expressed during (Trump's) campaign.”
In a campus email alert Sunday co-signed by seven administrators,
Schlissel did address harassment directed at students who voted for
Trump who were “shouted out and accused of being racist because
of their political views.”
But the missive focused primarily on a spate of hateful attacks on or near campus directed mainly at minority students. Among the incidents
he cited were a report of a Muslim student who was threatened she
would be lighted on fire because she wore a hijab, and another
student ho said that he left his apartment to go to class, he
discovered a swastika with a message telling him to go home.
“Stop it,” President-elect Donald Trump said in a direct appeal t
o his supporters on “60 Minutes” Sunday.
Schlissel and his co-signers expressed hope that “all members of our
community can agree that we must not stand silent while facing
expressions of bigotry, discrimination or hate that have become part
of our national political discourse,” and said that “only by speaking
out against personal attacks, hate and threats can we move on to have
the discussions that will be necessary for our campus and our nation
to reach its full potential.”
“Diversity is Ugly”
By mid-day Tuesday, about 350 students had signed an online petition
criticizing Schlissel and other university officials. More than 60 pages
of personal statements were included with the signatures.
Diversity isn’t a one-way street, wrote Frank Morton, a senior business
major.
“I detest Donald Trump’s views on many issues,” he wrote, but as long
as Trump’s supporters don’t engage in violence, “they have the right to
exist on this university without being belittled by the administration.”
“Diversity is ugly,” he wrote. “It is more than Title IX, scarier than
LGBTQ acceptance, and by definition encompasses beliefs at odds
with prevailing wisdom.”
Conner Marion, who is studying statistics, accused Schlissel and other
university officials of creating an atmosphere where he and other
Trump supporters are unsafe. He denounced attacks like that one
reported by the Muslim student who said she was forced to remove
her hijab, but said intimidation against Trump supporters don’t seem
to rise to the same level of concern.

“I wear my hat with Trump's slogan on it, ‘Make America Great Again,’
around campus and I might as well be in full KKK ensemble judging by
how I am treated,” he wrote. “There could have been 100 crime alerts
sent out for what has happened to me in the past week if they were
sending them out in accordance to what justifies a crime alert for
other demographics that are apparently more deserving of the
university’s support. ...
“I will be walking around in the light of day, proudly supporting the
next president of the United States, minding my own business, and
I have been called every name in the book. I have been shoved, had
my hat thrown off my head, drinks dumped on me, things knocked out
of my hand, been spit on, been told to kill myself, get the (expletive)
off this campus, and much, much more,” he wrote. “These actions
were performed by fellow students, in the presence of fellow students,
and not even once has anyone stepped in to defend me, ask the
aggressor to step down, or offer me any sort of support. …
“This is the kind of campus you are creating. …”
Lincoln Merrill, an engineering student who expects to graduate in 2020, wrote that he was attracted to the school because its diversity would spark debate and inspire intellectual thinking. He’s disillusioned now, he wrote:
“The diversity the University promotes and the ideals it preaches are not, I have recently learned, intended to protect everyone. Rather, it exists as an attempt to target, change, and convert specific viewpoints based on the perfect yet unachievable vision the University has to create a student body that solely consists of people who reject those who may believe certain things. I voted for Donald J. Trump for president, and I feel as though the University does not care for the ideas that I can contribute to this campus because of it. I am not a racist. I am not a bigot. I am just a kid from New England who got into this university just like everyone else. …”
He said Schlissel’s email was “just another action the university has taken to try to undermine those who do not have the same ideals as those the university so vigorously protects.”
“You Are Perpetuating the Problem”
Lauren Neumann, a junior business major, accused the university of coddling students who were upset by the election’s outcome and said it’s time to accept the results and move on.
“Providing students with extensions because of the election results is doing students a disservice. The real world will continue to function. If an employee does not attend work because of an election later in life, they will be fired,” she wrote, then added:
“Finally, President Schlissel, by continually sending emails and promoting programs about diversity, equality, and inclusion, you are perpetuating the problem. When children are born they do not recognize there is a difference in skin color. This is taught to them by people like you. If race is not an issue, why do you make it one?
“The United States has spoken. Let us see what we can do with respect for each other, respect for the family, and respect for humanity.”
Sophomore Sam Junge got right to students’ point: “If Trump is not your
president, then perhaps you aren’t mine.”
The first half of last night was stressful. I could barely eat. Stupid Florida, always keeping us on the edge of our seats. I switched my networks around last night. I mostly relied on Fox News and Twitter. CNN wasn’t calling states as fast, and MSNBC is a last resort kind of thing. I vowed to stay away from that channel, UNLESS things started shaping up for Donald Trump.
Then the results started coming in. Flyover nation. North Carolina. Ohio. Florida? Wisconsin?!!! That’s when the wheels started falling off their wagon. That’s when I started thinking about Hillary Clinton’s defeat. I never really allowed myself to go there before. I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but my country came through. We the People are not stupid.
We the People defeated MSM. We the People defeated the establishment. We the People saved the Supreme Court. We the People rejected the power-hungry, seahag criminal in a pantsuit.
After they announced Wisconsin, commentators started to change their tune. They looked visibly nervous. Eventually, Mockarena told me it was safe to flip to MSNBC, and it was hysterical. I thought Rachel Maddow’s face was going to fall off. I flipped back to Fox News. Juan Williams practically peed himself. I watched the cheese slide off his crackers in real time. It was something.
I scrolled through social media. Liberals were melting down. They wrote stuff like, “I don’t know how we consistently underestimated the quiet endurance of racism in America.” They whined over “flagrant sexism.” Others reposted stuff like this:
I’m sick and tired of it. I’m sick and tired of these uninformed jackholes telling me that I’m racist, sexist, Islamophobic and homophobic. They have no basis for those claims. They’re consumed by their emotions. Do they honestly believe Hillary Clinton lost solely because she’s a woman? It couldn’t possibly have anything with her being a pathological liar who’s spent her entire life pursuing political power? It had nothing to do with the fact that America’s not satisfied with her vision for America– an America with open borders, higher taxes and more bureaucratic scumbags in D.C. telling us how to run our lives?
We’re not racist. We’re not sexist. We want people to come into this country legally. That’s not racist. Progressive leadership in the big, urban cities hasn’t pulled the black community out of poverty. It’s worsened it. Liberalism has failed them. We acknowledge that. We want them to prosper. That’s not racist. And as for being sexist? All issues are women’s issues. I have no idea why liberals continue to separate them. Do they really believe we only care about vaginas, boobs and killing our offspring? Liberals assumed we (women) would vote for Hillary based on those reasons alone. THAT’S sexist, if you ask me. Women care about the economy. We care about national security. We care about the almost $20 trillion national debt. We care about the erosion of our freedoms. We care about the future of the Supreme Court. The list goes on and on and on.
I also saw some posts on how Trump’s victory signifies that America hates the LGBT community. NEWSFLASH: We elected a man who wants to keep dangerous anti-LGBT ideologues OUT OF OUR COUNTRY. Those people who want to throw them off rooftops? We don’t want them here. We want to protect the LGBT community. The fact that we stand for traditional family values and don’t want men in the women’s bathroom doesn’t take anything away from that. Not for one second.
We’re not racist or sexist. We’re freaking SICK AND TIRED of the political establishment crapping all over the Constitution and treading on our liberty. We’re sick of them refusing to uphold the rule of law. We’re sick of being told that this is as good as it gets. We want economic freedom. We want to keep more of our hard-earned money. We want healthcare premiums that AREN’T AS MUCH AS OUR MORTGAGES. We want people to enter our country LEGALLY. We believe in peace through strength. Faith. Freedom. Family. We’re the most kick a** country that has ever existed. All you liberals whining over our “demise,” GET OVER YOURSELVES. You’re clueless. We were founded on the novel idea that we were endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. Rights than cannot be given or taken away by a governing authority. This was about individual liberty. We reject government force and coercion. Votes. Favors. Political power. That’s the cycle of every progressive politician. We’re done. We’re sick of it.
Another part of Ronald Reagan’s 1964 speech, “A Time For Choosing,” comes to mind.
“Public servants say, always with the best of intentions, “What greater service we could render if only we had a little more money and a little more power.” But the truth is that outside of its legitimate function, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector.”
“Yet any time you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we’re denounced as being opposed to their humanitarian goals. It seems impossible to legitimately debate their solutions with the assumption that all of us share the desire to help the less fortunate. They tell us we’re always ‘against,’ never ‘for’ anything.”
But we are. We’re for economic prosperity. Individual responsibility. Fiscal responsibility. Less government. More freedom. We’re sick of the liberal do-gooders shoving their BS agenda down our throats and calling us bigots when we reject their horrid ideas. We’re sick of them scoffing at the principles of liberty.
Donald Trump is America’s middle finger to the media, Hollywood elites, progressive ideologues and everyone else in the world who hates our guts.
I’m drinking the tears of our political enemies in a mug today and loving every minute of it. We defeated them. We have one more chance to prove that our ideas work. We’re right. We always have been.
