Transgenders Don't Belong In The Military.

Breaking: Trump issues major decision on transgender members in the military

Breaking: Trump issues major decision on transgender members in the military

In a late Friday evening announcement, the White House announced that transgender persons would be banned from the military, with a few exceptions.
Here’s what they said
“Today the President rescinded his previous memorandum on transgender service in the military in order to allow Secretary Mattis new policy developed through extensive study by senior uniformed and civilian leaders including combat veterans,” thestatement read.
“The experts’ study set forth a policy to enhance our military’s readiness, lethality, and and effectiveness,” it continued. “On the advice of these experts the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Homeland Security have concluded that the accession or retention of individuals with a history of diagnosis of gender dysphoria – those who may require substantial medical treatment, including through medical drugs or surgery – presents considerable risk to military effectiveness and lethality.”
“This new policy will enable the military to apply well-established mental and physical health standards – including those regarding the use of medical drugs – equally to all individuals who want to join and five for the best military force the world has ever seen,” the statement concluded. “The Secretary of Defense’s memorandum and accompanying report have been made public today.”
What is “gender dysphoria”?
Gender dysphoria is the technical term for transgender persons, those who don’t consider themselves to have a gender that fits into traditional, normal categories. Previously the condition was considered to be an abnormal psychiatric condition, but it is now gaining acceptance as merely another “state” of gender existence, especially among the left.

The Trump administration and the transgender issue
In August 2017, Trump had ordered that gender reassignment surgery not be a part of medical treatment in the military, and said that transgender troops would be banned from the military.
That same month, Defense Secretary Mattis said that transgender members of the military could continue to serve until a panel of experts from Homeland Defense and the Department of Defense study the issue.
In May, the Department of Education said that they would no longer take upcomplaints from students about bathroom access inequality, based on their understanding that it was beyond their legal jurisdiction.

Here’s a CNN news report about the ban:

Jeb Wants It Both Ways On Transgenderism. Fool!

Jeb Bush: I'm 'Fine' With Transgender Soldiers if Morale Is Unaffected

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush says he's "fine" with transgender people openly serving in the military – as long as it doesn't compromise morale, Yahoo News reports.

Story continues below video.

Bush's view – echoing that of Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, the Washington Posthas reported – marks the first time he has commented on the issue.

And it comes in the wake of the Defense Department decision this week to issue two directives bringing the Pentagon closer to rescinding its ban on open service by transgender people.

Carter ordered a 6-month review to examine how allowing transgenders to serve openly in the military would affect policy and military readiness, and called the Department of Defense transgender ban "outdated."

"[I]f you can accommodate people who are transgendered and deal with making sure the military’s comfortable with this and making sure that the overriding principle ought to be how do we create the highest morale for the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen … and if you can accommodate those two concerns, then fine," he tells Yahoo News.

Allowing transgender people to openly serve would spell one of the military’s last gender or sexually-based service exclusions, Yahoo News notes; a ban on gays serving in the military was lifted in 2011.

Bush, although criticizing last month's decision by the U.S. Supreme Court legalizing marriage in all 50 states, hasn't called for a Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage, as some Republican 2016 candidates have.

MORE EVIDENCE OF WEAKENING OUR MILITARY

Once again, Conservative Tom points out how we are losing our military superiority and strength by abandoning our successful tools of war without updating and replacement while kowtowing to the God of Political Correctness.

Should Military Be Able To Trademark Names? We Think So As Long As Vets Get Benefits!

The Pentagon is busy fighting a new battle — this time on the homefront, where its attorneys are busy sending cease-and-desist letters to former veterans and companies hoping to cash in on a wave of patriotism by using military terms and symbols.

As more of the country's armed services forces return home as the war winds down in Afghanistan, many of the more business-minded veterans are starting businesses and hope to attract customers through showing their affiliation with the military, reports The New York Times.

The military's brand is showing up on many types of items, from garage doors to a toilet paper being marketed as "Leatherneck Wipes." As a result, an unprecedented number of military attorneys have been registering trademarks through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in hopes of making sure the military gets a cut of licensing fees for items such as Guadalcanal sweatshirts and other items.

According to the Department of Defense, its official seal and seals from the service branches are already protected by law from unauthorized use, "and these seals may not be used for non-official purposes."

However, the military may approve the use of their service emblem or coat of arms, or a substitute of them, on a case-by-case basis. However, the DOD points out, there is no substitute for its own seal and no optional graphic that represents it.

Between 2003 and 2008, the U.S. Marine Corps registered only 5 trademarks, but as troops returned home from Iraq and Afghanistan, the branch registered nine trademarks in 2010 and the first half of 2011.

It's not only returning troops who are trying to cash in. After Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, Disney attempted a trademark on the name SEAL Team Six, prompting the Navy to quickly trademark the terms "SEAL team" and "Navy SEALs."

But the largest battle in 2012 and 2013 has been with servicemen and women coming home to set up business, and all branches of the military have seen more people trying to use military branding to attract customers.

"Because we’ve been in two wars in 10 years, we’ve had a lot of patriotism," Philip Greene, the Marines' trademark counsel, told The Times. "An unpleasant part of my job is going out and talking to a Marine" and having to say no to someone who is proud of their service and wants to show off their association.

For example, Green had to call Marine veteran Shadrach Brooks, who started Semper Fidelis Garage Doors in Arizona in 2012. In addition to the Marine motto, Brooks also used the Marine seal on his masthead. Eventually, Brooks was allowed to keep the company name, but agreed to use an image of two crossed swords instead of the Marine logo.

The military does collect license fees from some businesses, and since 2009 has collected some $5.4 million, with $700,000 turned over to a morale, welfare, and recreation fund.

The Marines had the largest spike in trademarks, with many former Marines eager to use the brand in their new businesses. But Jessica O'Haver, director of the Marine Corps Trademark Licensing Office, said the major priority is protecting the trademarks' historic integrity.

But some veterans believe they have earned the right to use the brands.

"They believe they earned it on Parris Island," said Capt. Eric Flanagan, a Marine Corps spokesman, to the corps South Carolina training camp. "They died for it, and now you’re going to try to take it? You going to take that tattoo off my arm, too?"

Lets Start Reforming Government By Making The Employees Pay Their Back Taxes! Anyone Owing Taxes Should Be Fired If They Work For Us!

More than 318,000 federal workers and retirees owe just over $3.3 billion in back taxes, the Internal Revenue Service said.
That works out to nearly 3.3 percent of all 9.8 million federal workers and retirees who are behind on their taxes — significantly lower than the proportion of delinquent taxpayers in the overall population. The IRS estimates that to be at least 8.7 percent.
Those behind in their tax payments include 714 people working for the House and Senate. IRS officials said the data used to compile the report does not indicate whether any of those delinquent taxpayers were members of Congress.
In addition, 821 employees of the nation's federal courts have overdue tax bills. IRS officials said the data did not indicate whether any of them were judges.
Agency officials said the IRS pursues delinquent taxes from federal workers the same way it goes after money that others owe. The agency will initially send at least two bills for the taxes it believes are due, a process that eventually can evolve into garnishing wages from paychecks or seizing property.
Almost 4.1 percent of active civilian government workers owe back taxes, the report said.
Among Cabinet-level departments, the highest rate of delinquency is at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where 5.3 percent of workers have overdue taxes. The lowest was at the Treasury Department — which includes the IRS — where 1.2 percent of workers were delinquent.
The IRS said 1.7 percent of active duty military personnel are overdue. So are almost 2.7 percent of those in the Reserves and National Guard.
Among retirees, 2.6 percent of retired civilian workers and 4.2 percent of retired military are delinquent.
The figures are as of Sept. 30, 2013.

Why Don't Senators Face Budget Cuts? Why Should Those Who Defended The Country Get Cut While The Leaches Don't!

It's time for retired veterans to face cuts as the federal government looks for ways to trim expenditures, Sen. Chuck Schumer said Monday.

"Civilian federal employees have been cut, cut, cut. I think there was a feeling, if you're going to cut them further, which was done, that the military retirees should have about an equal amount. It's small," the New York Democrat told MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

In the budget plan brokered by Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan and Washington Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, military service personnel under the age of 62 would take a one percent cut to retirement benefits. The move has drawn fire from military and veterans organizations.

"I think (Rep.) Paul Ryan and (Sen.) Patty Murray looked everywhere they could to try and find compromise. Everybody had to take a little," Schumer said.

"They're going to have to pay a tiny, little bit into it, which they never have," he added.
But Schumer maintained members of Congress should not be forced to take a pay cut. He said they have already sacrificed, since they have not seen a pay raise "in a long time," and explained most of them are paying more for healthcare insurance.

"We have taken pretty big cuts," he said.

The bill will pass the Senate, Schumer predicted, and said Democrats would "reluctantly vote for it" because they realize the threat of a government shutdown is a "brutal alternative."

The expiration of unemployment benefits in the proposed budget has been a sticking point for some Democrats. Schumer said it would be an issue that would be handled later.

"We'll make a shot at trying to do unemployment insurance separately. And, then, work on it next year," he said.
