Impeachment Inquiry Faces New Hurdles

The impeachment inquiry into President Trump's supposed quid pro quo is getting more farcical by the day, courtesy of Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff's laughably incompetent "leadership."

Gregg Jarrett, writing an opinion piece for Fox News, explains:

At first, Schiff wanted the faux "whistleblower" who triggered the impeachment farce to testify. Then, suddenly, he didn't. What changed? In the interim, evidence emerged that Schiff and/or his staff colluded with the "whistleblower" before the complaint was ever filed and then lied about it, earning Schiff "Four Pinocchios" from The Washington Post.

The chairman now wants to conceal his own role in engineering the pretext for impeachment and his subsequent deceit. This is why he has insisted that the "whistleblower" remain anonymous, despite no such right, guarantee, privilege, or entitlement written in the law, as I explained in an earlier column. Even though the undercover informant (reportedly working for the CIA) does not qualify for whistleblower status under the law as determined by the Department of Justice, any effort by Republicans to call him as a witness will be blocked by Schiff.

But Schiff's machinations are more malevolent than masking the key witness. Those he will call to testify are already on record dishing up prodigious plates of multiple hearsay and rank speculation. It is obvious from the released transcripts of the heretofore "super top-secret" inquisition that none of them have any firsthand knowledge of a "quid pro quo" allegedly demanded by President Trump.

For example, Bill Taylor, the acting ambassador to Ukraine who will testify on Wednesday, told Schiff's committee that it was his "understanding" there was a link between U.S. security assistance and an investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden. How did Taylor arrive at his opinion? He heard it through discussions with other diplomats, although there is no indication that any of these individuals had direct knowledge of anything. The chain of hearsay went something like this: the European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland told National Security Council official Tim Morrison who, in turn, told Taylor that there was a purported "quid pro quo."

However, the truth is less politically convenient for Democrats. For Sondland originally testified that after a conversation with President Trump the commander-in-chief told him, unequivocally, "I want nothing ... I want no quid pro quo." Buttressing this initial claim, Sondland added that he never believed there was a precondition on military aid to Ukraine. Only later did he revise his testimony, stating, "I presumed that the aid suspension had become linked to the proposed anti-corruption statement."

Of course, such anecdotes are just the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

Folks, This Is The Way A Banana Republic Works

Ukraine whistleblower failed to tell inspector general he met with Adam Schiff staff

00:0300:58
The whistleblower who filed a complaint about President Trump did not tell Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson about his or her contact with House Intelligence Committee staff, the watchdog told lawmakers on Friday.
During a closed-door briefing with the panel, Atkinson also said he did not investigate that outreach because he was not aware of it, sources told Fox News.
The whistleblower, reportedly a CIA official who was at one point assigned to the White House, filed a complaint to Atkinson on Aug. 12 that raised concerns about whether Trump pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a July 25 phone call to investigate allegations of collusion between the Democrats and Ukraine during the 2016 election and a matter related to Joe Biden, a political rival, and his son Hunter.
The complaint, which was deemed credible by Atkinson and released late last month, also described an alleged effort by White House officials to conceal details of that private conversation and others using a highly secure computer system.
Trump claims he said nothing wrong in his "perfect" call with Zelensky, but his admission that Biden was discussed prompted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to launch an impeachment inquiry, and text messages released last week by House Democrats show U.S. diplomats discussing how Trump would not meet the Ukrainian leader unless his country engaged in investigations into Trump's political foes.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is facing criticism for making misleading statements about what he knew of the whistleblower after it was revealed he learned details about the intelligence official's complaint before it was formally filed. The whistleblower reportedly approached a House Intelligence Committee aide with vague details of what would appear in the complaint. The aide then shared with Schiff some of what the intelligence official said but did not divulge the identity of the person.
Schiff's team said proper procedure was followed and that his panel advised the whistleblower to find a lawyer and file an official complaint.
“Like other whistleblowers have done before and since under Republican- and Democratic-controlled committees, the whistleblower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community," Schiff's spokesman Patrick Boland said. “At no point did the committee review or receive the complaint in advance."
In response to the report that Schiff had prior knowledge of the whistleblower's allegations, Trump accused the California Democrat of helping the whistleblower write his or her complaint, but a lawyer for the whistleblower strongly rejected the claim.
"There was no contact between the legal team and Congress until nearly a month after the whistleblower complaint was submitted to the Intelligence Community's inspector general," Mark Zaid said. "I can unequivocally state that neither any member of the legal team nor the whistleblower has ever met or spoken with Congressman Schiff about this matter."
Schiff's Republican colleagues on the House Intelligence Committee have accused him of concealing information about the whistleblower from them as he repeatedly indicated his office had no contact with the whistleblower. He did so publicly as well. Days after the existence of the complaint was publicly revealed, Schiff told MSNBC, "We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to."
Schiff has reportedly "expressed regret" for the miscommunication, but that didn't save him from earning him four "Pinocchios" from the Washington Post fact-checker.
In speaking with lawmakers on Friday, Atkinson also said the whistleblower informed him that he or she was a registered Democrat who had a working relationship with a Democratic politician.
After the briefing, Schiff issued a statement condemning his Republican colleagues, saying they "continued the president’s strategy of deflection by making the absurd claim that because a whistleblower contacted the committee seeking guidance, the committee cannot conduct an investigation into the complaint. If that were true, no whistleblower could contact Congress, and no committee could conduct an investigation."
“We look forward to following up on what we learned today and continuing our investigation into the facts," the Democrat added.T

Schiff Gets Sold A Bag Of Horse Manure--Gobbles It Up!

Ukraine BOMBSHELL! Obama’s dirty deals uncovered

The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. and the Democrats’ impeachment push against President Donald Trump started in Ukraine years ago.
It wasn’t the phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that set the Democrats impeachment efforts into motion.
That was only the final step. This Ukrainian nonsense has been going on behind-the-scenes for years.

In fact, the Democrats dirty dealings with Ukraine and Trump go back all the way to former President Barack Obama and his administration. Former Vice President Joe Biden’s quid-pro-quo removal of the top Ukrainian prosecutor that was investigating his son in 2014 was just the beginning.
Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan — an outspoken critic of Trump — traveled to Ukraine during the 2016 presidential election to help Democrats assemble dirt for the now-debunked Steele dossier.
That dossier was used later to get legal approval for the wiretap and spying efforts against the Trump presidential campaign.
Brennan used a fake passport and phony name at the time so his travel to Ukraine wouldn’t be noticed.
At the same time, Ukrainian government officials worked openly to help boost former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

“Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office,” a Politico investigation found in 2017. “They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers.”
“A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation,” Politico reported.
And these Ukrainian-Obama efforts did impact the presidential race. Manafort later resigned, and the conspiracy theory that Trump was colluding with Russia was born.
The Russian-Trump collusion narrative led to special counsel Robert Mueller’s three-year-long investigation of the White House and Trump allies.
During his exhaustive investigation, Mueller uncovered dirty tax dealings and a ring of Russian spies. But he finally concluded earlier this year that there was insufficient evidence of collusion.

Even House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff was eager to use foreign intelligence against Trump — so much so that he was asked the fake Ukrainian parliamentary chairman for it on-air during an 8-minute prank phone call.
The Democrats have been trying to impeach Trump before the president was even elected.
The Obama administration were actively using foreign intelligence to conduct wiretaps on the Trump presidential campaign and launch a special counsel investigation.
Democratic leadership was so desperate, they even asked Russian radio pranksters for nude photos of the president.

Now, these same Democrats are moving to impeach the president because of a phone call… because Trump asked about a Ukrainian criminal investigation that same administration demanded be buried in 2014.
The corruption pieces are all adding up — but it’s not Trump that needs to be worried.
In the end, the Ukrainian scandal all points straight back to Obama.

Are The Democrats Following Goebbels Advice?

Pelosi, Schiff Channel Goebbels' and Hitler's Big Lie

Print
Let’s say that during a previous administration, this nation had a vice president who is such a nebbish that he personifies what former Vice President John Nance Garner meant when he called the office a “warm bucket of spit.”
And, let’s say that when he was a sitting vice president he took his son, a drug addict who was kicked out of the Navy, on Air Force Two to China and a Chinese bank “invested” a BILLION and a HALF dollars in his son’s “private equity” firm.
And, let’s say that the same son was given a board seat in a foreign oil firm, for which he was paid $50,000 a month in spite of the fact that the only fracking he had any experience in involved needles and opioid injections.
And then, let’s say that the currently sitting president asked a favor of the leader of the nation which domiciled the company which hired the young drug addict.
Should this president be impeached?

Well, since all of the above happens to be true, apparently only if you’re a Democrat who is fixated on overthrowing a duly elected president who you hate.
It follows, then, that Nancy Pelosi and her buddies, apparently have read a little history of Nazi Germany (or, in the case of Adam Schiff have had it read to them) and think that Joseph Goebbels’ and Adolph Hitler’s Big Lie Theory will still work right here in the USofA.
Goebbels theorized that, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
That was based on a line from Hitler’s “Mein Kampf”: “The great masses of the people … will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.”
But back in those days, the population of Germany was only around 69 million and the state controlled all the media, which consisted of a few newspapers and a few radio stations. And those were not people accustomed to having any freedom.
Can the Big Lie Theory work in 2019 in the United States?
Well, the left sure thinks it can.
Here’s what the left does not understand:
  1. There’s a whole nation out there west of the Hudson River, East of the Los Angeles County line and South of the Cook County line which mostly thinks that what happens in Washington ought to stay in Washington and really doesn’t care much about the supposed wrongs that Donald Trump has allegedly committed. These are the people who elected him.
  2. The people in Washington who do NOT understand point number 1 are so cemented into their positions that they do not believe any real power emanates from the voters described in number 1. They believe they absolutely control the levers of power. Many of them are in the media and the rest are part of the deep state which really DOES exist.
  3. The people described in point number 2 are leading the nation into uncharted territory and they have no idea of what can happen if their calculus is wrong. Here’s a hint: Hong Kong. Only our military is NOT the Red Chinese Army and its members probably will NOT fire on their fellow citizens.

This could be ugly.
But the big question is how hard will anybody fight for Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff?
My neighbors mostly say it won’t even be a fight — that they will fold like the cheap suits they are.

Once Again Schiff Gets It Wrong

Schiff Is A Lying Fraud!

Listen to Schiff Destroy Own Credibility, Ask 'Ukrainian Insider' for Dirt on Trump

Print
Remember, folks: Asking Ukrainians for any sort of help investigating someone who happens to be your political rival is unacceptable, quid pro quo or not.
Unless you’re a Democrat, that is. Then it’s OK.
If it isn’t, how is Rep. Adam Schiff is the head of the House Intelligence Committee? After all, the California Democrat had been fooled by prank callers who claimed they were a Ukrainian bigwig possessed of some dirt on President Donald Trump.
The takeaway is that Schiff — who’s now resolutely attempting to move the impeachment inquiry over the Ukraine call through Congress in as expedited a manner as possible — is perfectly willing to get information on his political opponents from foreign sources.
x
“The Russian radio hosts, Vladimir ‘Vovan’ Kuznetzov and Alexey ‘Lexus’ Stolyarov, who have close ties to the Kremlin, told Schiff that the Kremlin had naked photos of Trump and that ‘Parubiy’ could provide audio of [Russian journalist Ksenia]  Sobchak and [Russian model and singer Olga] Buzova discussing the photos,” Fox News reported.
“They also told Schiff that former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn had met with another Russian to talk about how to prevent the photos from going public.
Schiff claims he knew it was a prank, although that explanation doesn’t seem to be borne out by his actions.
“So, you have recordings of both [Russian journalist Ksenia] Sobchak and [Russian model and singer Olga] Buzova where they’re discussing the compromising material on Mr. Trump?” Schiff said to “Parubiy.”

Do you think that Donald Trump will be impeached?

3% (5 Votes)
97% (182 Votes)
“Absolutely,” replied Kuznetzov, who was posing as Parubiy.
“Well, obviously we would welcome a chance to get copies of those recordings,” Schiff said.
Instead, we have a copy of this phone recording, which GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida decided to remind us of:
RELATED: GOP Rep. Gaetz Digs Up Audio of Schiff Telling 'Ukrainian Politician' He'll Accept Dirt on Trump
As it turns out, Schiff — then just the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee — was more than willing to talk about the details of the alleged recording.
The California Democrat seems to think that the mere act of asking for dirt on your political opponents from a foreign power is evidence of malfeasance: “What we have seen in that call record is a president of the United States use the full weight of his office … to manufacture dirt on his opponent and interfere in our election.”
There are a few things we can argue with here, such as the whole “full weight of his office” and “manufacture dirt” parts; there’s no evidence of a quid pro quo in the call — or even evidence that the Ukrainians were aware that the military aid was being withheld — and asking the Ukrainians to investigate sketchy dealings in Ukraine by the Bidens is hardly “manufactur[ing] dirt,” if perhaps not the best look morally.
That all being said, the basic gist of Schiff’s statement was this: Accepting dirt from the Ukraine is very, very bad. Unless he does it.
Schiff, again, says he knew that it was a prank call and had informed law enforcement.
“Before agreeing to take the call, and immediately following it, the committee informed appropriate law enforcement and security personnel of the conversation, and of our belief that it was probably bogus,” he said in a statement.
All right, then — why would he say that he was interested in the information?
Let’s say that Schiff was under the impression he was being put on by the Russian Jerky Boys. He could have a) hung up the phone or b) said he wasn’t interested in the information.
Option c), expressing interest in the info and then discussing details of it with the pranksters, seems very unusual for someone who knows he’s being put on.
Bottom line: If you’re one of those people who believe the quid is enough — that we don’t need a pro quo in order to nail Trump because getting information from a foreign government on a political opponent is illegal — you probably should take a close look at Adam Schiff. I doubt you or anyone else will, but we’ll always have this prank call to remind us of the hypocrisy.
