Bloomberg's Vision Of Success

Success comes in many versions. For Mayor Michael Bloomberg it comes from limiting the amount of soft drink (for those New Yorkers--soda) that you can purchase to doubling the number of New York City residents who are on food stamps. Aren't those wonderful goals! He prevents the masses from purchasing a soft drink in the size they desire and tells the poor that can cannot purchase the drink with their food stamps. He is indeed a feeling fellow.

He also feels that it is important that all of his constituents should not be able to defend themselves. He is an anti-gunner with national aspirations.

All liberals, including Bloomberg, feel they know better that you do whether it is soft drinks or guns or global warming to name a few. They are the "bright people" who have been told they are smarter than most and therefore know what is in the best interests of their constituents. Those in power use government to insure that their goals are met. So it is with the Mayor.

He and all liberals are very dangerous and in the end will spend this country into extinction. The food stamps the Mayor so lovingly passes out have to be paid by those who are working and as that number decreases, higher taxes that must be extracted from them. At a point, the workers (aka producers) either rebel or they themselves become recipients of government largess.

It is the rebellion piece that frightens the liberals which we believe is the reason for the massive purchases of weapons and ammunition that has been occurring as well as the attempt to pass far reaching gun control measures. They fear that the producers of this country are going to say, enough is enough. When that time comes, there will not be enough jails to keep the "law-breakers" and as has occurred in other countries, government will enforce its rules by force. No longer will the IRS depend upon voluntary compliance, government agents will visit you and extract tax money (your fair share.) Sound familiar, the Mafia used to do the same!

No matter how much you give a liberal, there never is enough. There always is another program that "deserves" additional funding or another cause that needs to be funded, another food that is bad for you or a tool that you are not competent to own.

10 Years Of Bloomberg Has Doubled Number Of NYC Residents On Food Stamps

While New Yorkers got poorer, Mayor Michael Bloomberg partied with Lady Gaga.
The nanny mayor of New York City has managed to dramatically expand the liberal entitlement base — that is, the number of people who look to government as a providing parent — since taking office in 2002.
In the 10 years Michael Bloomberg has run the city, the number of New Yorkers receiving food stamps has more than doubled, according to a report by the New York Post.
By the numbers, that means a jump in city food stamp enrollment from 800,000 at the end of former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s term in office to 1.8 million last year. A corollary figure, the number of New Yorkers receiving welfare-to-work and other public assistance, declined slightly over the same period from roughly 450,000 to just less than 400,000.
In 2002, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) — the Federal program to assist the elderly, blind or disabled — was by far the biggest (and, arguably, the most justified) entitlement program used by New Yorkers, shelling out $3.01 billion in income subsidies. At the time, food stamp use in the five boroughs amounted to $1.28 billion.
Now, the city’s residents avail themselves of more than $3.4 billion in food stamps, a number that far exceeds the $2.9 billion (down from 2002) devoted to SSI benefits last year.
Chalk it up to aggressive recruiting.
“IBO spokesman Doug Turetsky cited more aggressive outreach to enroll eligible recipients by the Bloomberg administration, in comparison to his predecessor, Rudy Giuliani,” the Postreports.
Although Bloomberg is in his final term as mayor, his policy ambitions are national in scope; and the liberal agenda needs to increase the largesse of free stuff if it wants to continue cultivating its idiot power base.
But as the nanny giveth, so doth the nanny take away — or tries to. Just because Bloomberg may have swollen the food stamp registry in New York doesn’t mean he cares little for his morons’ health. He was incensed when the Feds — whom he generally regards as good, good friends — smacked down his 2011 proposal to ban the use of food stamps for soda purchases.
It’s not going to let up. In his last, lame-duck term, expect Bloomberg to start cashing in his good will with the freeloaders he’s helped suckle. They, along with sane New Yorkers, will all be poorer once it’s over.

  1. On food stamps...

There are a record 47 million Americans on food stamps. Does the Great Recession have something to do with that? And who caused the Great Recession where millions of American lost their homes, their jobs, and their life savings to Wall Street engineered financial collapse? The question answers itself. While you are blaming mayors, Obama, "liberals", etc. for the poverty explosion in this country, it sure would be nice if you, or the articles you choose to post, would slip in a sentence or two about what actually caused this problem in the first place. Even BEFORE the Great Recession, the number of people getting food stamps doubled under the Bush administration at a time when Republicans had full control of the federal government (2002-2006). Wall Street is driving half the population toward poverty and has been doing it for a long time. The amount of money the government spends on food stamps is insignificant compared to the TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS doled out to Wall Street by the government, but all we hear is the uproar about poor people getting some food.
