We thought this was an interesting story. We wondered how they did it and now we know. Yes, it's a bit off the traditional stuff about which we write, however, don't we all need something light every once in a while?

P.S. The Lions are the last team in this article and they should be the last team in my book (as well as every NFL fan) even if they are our home team. They will not be our team until the owner sells them! Detroit has suffered with over 50 years of mediocrity, at best, and holds the record for the only 0-16 team in NFL history. It is time for a new owner!

EVER WONDER HOW NAMES GET ON JERSEYS SO QUICKLY AT THE NFL DRAFT?
If you caught any part of the NFL draft’s first round on Thursday you might have wondered how new players’ names were on jerseys of the team signing them so quickly.
Are there options for each player for each potential team (which would be a huge waste)? Are there few options for teams speculated to sign a specific player? Or is someone there actually sewing names onto the appropriate jersey in real time?
Believe it or not, as Yahoo! Sports pointed out, Nike actually has a crew in the wings putting the correct name with the jersey once the decision is made. NFL expert Darren Rovell has a picture:
This practice began last year and NBC Sports Pro Football Talk reported at the time that the names of players are already printed and then applied onto the back of the appropriate jersey for photo ops.
Here’s a look at such jerseys from Thursday night:
New Draftees Holding Jerseys
The number one draft pick went to the Kansas City Chiefs who took offensive tackle Eric Fisher of Central Michigan.
Linemen were among the most drafted during the first round with 18 teams picking up more than 2 1/2 tons of linemen.
Surprising to some though Manti Te’o, the Notre Dame linebacker who was taken for a very publicly exposed ride over a fake Internet girlfriend last year, was not drafted and waits for the second round Friday. It wasn’t this embarrassing hoax that likely dropped him out of a first round pick, but his less than stellar performance in the national championship game against Alabama.
