Trump Gets Progress On Reducing The Cost Of Another Program

Boeing Head Said He and Trump “Made Progress” in Striking Lower-Cost Air Force One Deal

When President-elect Donald Trump criticized Boeing on Twitter early last month and called for the government to cancel its contract with the airplane manufacturer over excessive costs of Air Force One, liberals went berserk, slamming him for alleged incompetence.
“Yet again, Donald Trump has shown us that he doesn’t have even a thin veneer of competence or desire to find the facts,” wrote Justin Acuff (Isaacs), the managing editor at the radical leftist blog Addicting Info. “We’re doomed.”
You sure about that?

Fast forward to Jan. 17, when Trump met with Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg for what turned out to be an “excellent conversation,” as Muilenburg later told reporters.

Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!

“We made some great progress on simplifying requirements for Air Force One, streamlining the process, streamlining certification by using commercial practices,” he said after the meeting, according to Reuters. “That’s going to lead to substantial cost reductions.”

Acuff had completely misjudged Trump, though he was not alone. Numerous liberals tried to paint Trump’s criticism of Boeing last month as the actions of an incompetent boob, but apparently, they themselves were the real boobs.
Muilenburg added that he and Trump were also “able to talk about options for the country and capabilities that will, again, provide the best capability for our war fighters most affordably.”
“I think Mr. Trump is doing a great job of engaging business,” he said. “If you want manufacturing jobs, aerospace is the place to invest. We’re proud to take on that mission and I think Mr Trump’s engagement with industry is going to help us grow manufacturing jobs in this country.”
All this was possible because of the president-elect’s insistence on taking Boeing to task for its cost overruns.

“I don’t need a $4.2 billion airplane to fly around in,” Trump said on Fox News earlier this month.
To liberals, this made him incompetent. To the rest of us, it made him a solid businessman and one potentially awesome incoming president.
Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know what you think about the stunning news from Boeing.
Are you surprised the Boeing CEO is praising Trump now?

Obama Has To Be The Most Expensive President We Have Ever Had! His Personal Spending Paid For By Taxpayers Is Out Of Sight!

New Judicial Watch documents: Obama spent taxpayer money campaigning for Hillary Clinton

President Barack Obama appeared to spend $360,236 of taxpayer money on a campaign trip to North Carolina on Air Force One with Hillary Clinton, a Freedom of Information Act request by a watchdog group found.
Air Force One costs $180,118 per hour in flight, and the aircraft flew two hours round-trip to make the July 2016 trip to North Carolina, the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command Headquarters said in its response to a FOIA request by the conservative group Judicial Watch.
The use of Air Force One for campaign travel is not a new practice, but it was an issue of contention on the campaign trail this summer after presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump complained about Obama’s use of the aircraft in support of presumptive Democratic nominee Clinton.
At the time, the White House said in a statement that the Democratic National Committee and other relevant political committees foot the bill for Obama to travel to political events on Air Force One, Bloomberg News reported.
However, the formula for how travel costs are divided is unclear, Bloomberg added.
As CNBC reported at the time, it’s common for presidents to use Air Force One to travel to campaign events themselves, but a president actually traveling with a non-incumbent candidate is new.
Presidents Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush all used the jet to travel to non-incumbent campaign events, but none of them traveled with their chosen successor.
The two hours of Air Force One use are in addition to dozens of other fundraising and campaign trips over Obama’s eight years in office, Judicial Watch argued, “bringing the known total over the past eight years to $96,938,882.51.”
“The Obamas’ notorious abuse of presidential travel perks wasted military resources and stressed the Secret Service,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “Judicial Watch estimates that the final costs of Obama’s unnecessary vacation and political travel will well exceed $100 million.”CNBC reported at the time, it’s common for presidents to use Air Force One to travel to campaign events themselves, but a president actually traveling with a non-incumbent candidate is new.

Why Would A President Want To Give Up 70 Million In Vacations? Obama Will NEVER Earn That Much Money, NO Less Pay For A House, Cars,Air Travel, Food, Chefs And All The Other Benefits Of The Office! Obama Ain't Leavin'

How Much is President Obama's
Golf Game Costing America?

Presidents Eisenhower and Reagan were frequently
criticized by their opponents for their casual attitudes
while in office, although later conversations with
those closest to the two men suggested that this
was merely a ruse, and that they were both highly
competent and engaged during critical periods
 of American history.

It's unlikely that President Obama will get the same treatment. While ISIS is on the march,
Obama spends his days attending fundraisers and going on vacation. And now, the bill has
come due. No surprise here, it's huge:
There was the weekend trip for President Barack Obama and his daughters

to New York, including a Broadway show and a private museum tour.

The ski trip to Aspen, Colorado, for first lady Michelle Obama in February.

And lots and lots of golf in Florida, Southern California and Martha’s

Vineyard, Mass.

Now as the Obama family departs Friday on its annual holiday vacation to

Hawaii, new estimates put the price tag of the Obamas’ 2015 trips that are

all or largely personal at $11.6 million for travel costs alone, according to the

conservative group Judicial Watch, based on federal government records.

That brings the overall cost of personal or largely personal travel to at

least $70.5 million since Obama took office in 2009, according to the

group’s analysis.

The costs of Air Force One and other government planes as well as

helicopters, limos and other unique parts of presidential travel often

raise questions about the need.

“My gosh, we can’t afford it,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial

Watch, which is pushing for less personal travel and for security

changes.

But others call it a necessary part of security and convenience for a

commander-in-chief.

“In this environment, I don’t think anyone on either side of the aisle is

advocating for them to do less,” said Dave Carney, a White House

political director for President George H.W. Bush and a critic of what

he called posh Obama vacations. “No one wants to say we need less

security and then something happens.”
President Obama's love of leisure is a slap in the face of an already beleaguered,
underpaid American tax base. We will be glad to see him go.

King Obama The First Travels The World--At Our Expense

Jet-Setting President Costing Taxpayers Millions

President Barack Obama is surpassed in his penchant for hopping on Air Force One for a bit of globetrotting fun only by President George H.W. Bush. And the current chief executive has racked up at least $24 million in travel expenses this year alone, according to the National Taxpayers Union Foundation.
According to the NTUF “Up in the Air” study of Presidential travel:
  • President Obama was the second-most traveled President of all time for a single term, spending 95 days on 25 trips.
  • In 2009, President Obama traveled more in his first year than any other President. Obama spent 41 days traveling to 21 different countries.
  • The most updated figure on the cost per hour of operating Air Force One is $179,750, but this is just a tiny fraction of a President’s foreign travel plan, which includes back-up aircraft, aerial tankers, motor transport, security and diplomatic personnel, accommodations, and advance teams.
  • In 2013, the President has made 4 international trips already, to the Middle East, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Africa — with at least 2 more trips planned to Moscow and Southeast Asia.
  • President Obama has spent less time at his destinations than any President since Johnson, at an average of 3.8 days.
  • Presidential entourages have grown quite large in the modern era! President Obama was accompanied by more than 500 staff (including security) during his 2009 trip to London. At least 200 security agents alone will be involved in the President’s current Africa trip.
  • The First Lady has also been actively traveling, making trips to Ireland, Africa, Western Europe, and Copenhagen. When flying solo Michelle Obama would likely use a C-40B or C with a cost per flight hour of $19,755-$26,936, or a larger C-32 passenger jet, which has a cost per flight hour of $42,936.
The taxpayer advocacy group notes that the President did manage to cut back on his jet-setting near the end of his first term, as he shifted focus to the “most expensive” Presidential campaign in history.
At a time when American taxpayers are asked to shell out more money to the government and American bureaucracy is more prolific than ever before in its failings to balance the books, NTUF suggests that the citizenry should have more information about the reason for each Presidential excursion.
“The frequency and growing cost of Presidential travel call for more transparency, when it does not directly compromise security,” said NTUF researcher Michael Tasselmyer. “As it stands now, taxpayers are shelling out untold millions with little opportunity for oversight. No matter who is in office, Americans should have the facts they need to have a rational conversation on the merits and affordability of a Chief Executive’s journeys.”
The President’s most recent trip, to Africa, cost taxpayers $6,654,345 in Air Force One bills alone, according to reports. Some estimates indicate that the overall taxpayer cost of the trip could be as high as $100 million.
